There's no doubt in your mind. There's no bigfoot out there. Maybe one day you and Justin can convince Charlie to come back without all the gear and cameras. Until then, it's time to fish.\n"Hey guys," you say. "Let's go catch some fish before we head back."\n"Great idea," Justin says. The three of you watch the camera feed for any indications of the creature that ate the bait.\nAs the sunlight grows dim on the feed, the camera jerks to one side. It shakes, as though something were trying to dislodge it. The camera finally tumbles to the ground and lays on its side.\nThe feed show the underbrush and the forest floor.\nA large, brown-furred foot steps in front of the camera. As the foot moves off screen, Charlie pauses the video.\n"Can you tell what it is?" he asks. \nThe video is slightly out of focus. The brown fur seems course and matted. It is difficult to tell if there are claws or not.\n"It's a bear," Justin says.\n"I don't think so," Charlie says. "It's too big."\n"What do you say?" Justin asks you.\n[[It's a bear|Scene20A]]\n[[It's Bigfoot|Scene20B]]\n
You don't want to know what was out there. It might make you not want to come back.\nYou continue with the camp clean up. The plan was for a few hours of fishing before heading back down the mountain. \nYou listen to your cousins debate the creature in the video. \nThey will never agree, unless someday Charlie finally manages to get proof of Bigfoot. What's the point? You already know what's out there.\n[[Bears, bears, and more bears|Scene21A]]\n[[Bears, of course, but also Bigfoot|Scene21B]]\n
You shift toward the tent entrance, keeping as quiet as you can. You slowly move the window cover on the door. Peering into the darkness you see a tall, bulky shope lumbering through the camp. The brown fur flashes through a patch of moonlight on the edge of the camp.\nYou debate on waking your cousins.\n\n[[They have to see this!|Scene15]]\n[[Why spoil their sleep?|Scene16]]
Your battered old pickup bounces along the pitted dirt road, jossling you and your passengers. Charlie grabs the handle above the door. Justin, sitting in the middle, braces his hands on the dash. Although it is early morning, the overhanging branches of the trees create a gloomy twilight.\nThe road curves to the right, revealing a clearing in the trees. The ground is littered with windblown leaves and branches. The fire pit in the center is empty, but the dry firewood stacked between the trees nearby holds promises of a hearty fire for the night.\nYou park the truck on the edge of the clearing. Your cousins spill out of the truck and immediately start unloading the bags out of the back.\n"I can't wait to hit the lake," Justin says, grabbing the fishing poles and tackle boxes.\n"Fishing is great, but I want to get the cameras set up as soon as possible," Charlie says.\n"I can't believe you want to spend the weekend on your Bigfoot obsession."\n"It's not an obsession," Charlie says. "If I set up the cameras first thing, we can spend the entire weekend fishing and relaxing, and we still might get a video of Bigfoot to top it off."\n"Whatever you say, Charlie. You know I don't believe in Bigfoot. I'm going fishing as soon as the camp is set up."\n"What about you?" Charlie asks you. \n\nDo you believe in Bigfoot?\n[[Absolutely, Bigfoot is real!|Charlie1][$belief = "1"]]\n[[Bigfoot? That's just a myth.|Justin1][$belief = "0"]]\n
You sit in the dark. There is a snuffling noise at the tent entrance. You cover your head with your sleeping bag and try not to breathe too loud.\nAfter a few minutes, you poke your head out from under the heavy bag and listen. Everything is quiet.\nYou finally get up the courage to peek out the tent flap. The camp is as you left it. There are no signs of any creature, large or small, in the clearing.\nYou release the breathe you hadn't even realized you were holding.\nStraightening your sleeping bag, you lay back down and try to sleep. Every creak in the trees or rustle in the leafs sends you sitting back upright for the better part of an hour. \nFinally, you relax enough to drift into an uneasy sleep.\n[[Sleep|Scene16D]]
You begin cleaning up the mess. Suddenly, a yell comes from the trees. It sounds like Charlie. You follow a narrow path to find him hanging upside-down from what appears to be a rope snare. Justin loosens the rope and lowers him to the ground.\n"What happened?" you ask.\n"I don't know. I heard a commotion and came to investigate. The misty morning is quiet and you doze off.\nWhen you wake, the sun is bright and the fog at the edge of the lake has disappeared. Justin stretches nearby. \n"Shall we get fishing?"\n\n[[Go Fishing|Justin3B][$nap =1]]\s\n
You try to wake up your cousins.\nJustin snorts and flips over. His arm collides with Charlie's face. Charlie blots upright with a yell.\nOutside the tent, the huge shape bolts into the underbrush with a crash.\n"What's wrong?" Charlie asks. "You look like you had a rough night."\n\n[["There was something in camp."|Scene17]]\n[["Nothing, everything's fine."|Scene18]]
You look back at your sleeping cousins. If you try to wake them you may startle the creature. You turn back to the window and watch. You strain your eyes in the darkness, trying to guage the shape and size of the beast in the camp. \nEventually, the creature wanders into the darkness of the woods.\n<<if $watch is "last">>\s\nYou find yourself startling at small noises for the rest of the night, watching the darkness and waiting for the creature to return.\nCharlie is the first to wake in the morning.\n<<elseif $watch is "middle">>\s\nYou find yourself startling at small noises for the rest of your watch, waiting for the creature to return.\nFinally, it's time to wake Justin.\n<<endif>>\s \n"What's wrong?" he asks. You set about picking up the tent and checking the poles for bends or breaks.\n"I don't think we should stay at this camp tonight," Justin says. "We can head to another site, down the road. That bear worries me."\n"No, we need to stay here," Charlie says. "The cameras are set up, and it wasn't a bear, it was Bigfoot."\n<<if $belief is "1">>\s\n"I think Charlie's right," you say. It is getting dark by the time you arrive. You work together to set up the camp.\n<<endif>>\s\n[[Let's eat dinner.|Scene13A]]\n[[Let's get some sleep.|Scene13B]]\n
You move throught he underbrush, watching for the bear to appear around every tree. Eventually, you find your way back to the path.\nYou follow Justin down the trail.\nAs you near the camp, you can see through the trees that the tent is knocked down.\n\n[[Enter camp.|Justin8A]]\n[[Circle around camp, staying in the trees.|Justin8B]]\n
Your stomach growls and you realize you haven't eaten all day.\n"What do we have for dinner?" you ask.\n<<if $fish is "one">>\s\n"We have one fish we could share," Justin says.\n"We also have some potatoes we can bake near the fire," Charlie says.\n"Sounds great." Charlie says.\n\n[[Let's get some sleep|Scene13B]]
You and your cousins lay out your sleeping bags in the tent. The fire is low, the light barely reaching past the edge of the campsite. The trees beyond are dark and quiet.\n"Maybe we should set up watch, just in case the bear comes by," Justin says.\n[[Setting watch is a great idea|Scene13C]]\n[[We don't need to set watch|Scene13D]]\n\n

"We've been camping up here for years," you say. "We've never set watch before."\n<<if $belief is "1">>\s\n"That's right," Charlie says. "We'll be fine tonight. The tent is pitch black and your cousins are still sleeping.\nA crunching sound, like something heavy walking on dry leaves, comes from outside the tent.\n[[Keep quiet and hope it goes away|Scene15Q]]\n[[Peek out the tent flap|Scene15R]]\n\n

As you struggle down the steep path, Justin throws out an arm, stopping your progress.\n"What-"\n"Shhh." Justin holds up a finger.\nHe points down the path and a large brown figure lumbering across the path. \n"It's a brown bear," he says. "Thank God it isn't a Grizzly. What do you want to do?"\n\n[[Leave the path and go around.|Justin6A]]\n[[Wait for the bear to leave.|Justin6B]]\n
As you wander down the long path, you come around a clump of bushes and find yourself standing behind a brown bear in the path. You stop short, and Justin runs into your back.\n"What should we do?"
