You live in the broken world of Mysida, a land divided following a 10,000 year civil war. While wandering the fields near your home you decide to go hunting for food as you haven't eaten in days. You spot prey and give chase only to be arrested by guards! Step forward and face your judgment!
[[THE TRIAL]]
You shrug your shoulders noticing that fleck of grass stuck on the top of your shoe. Latarian's foot touches the tip, you notice its 5 times larger than yours.
"And yet you call us barbaric! Into the labryinth with you welp! Let's see how cunning prey can be!"
[[INTO THE BOWELS OF THE ABYSS]] A burst of pride shoots through you as you spit on the floor. You look up to see an 8 foot humanoid with the head of a black wolf snarling back.
"You dare to look upon me? A common thief! It's true that humans are mere fleas after all. Very well, I cast you as the first of your kind to enter the labryinth. Better you lead yourself to extinction anyways."
[[SPY FALLOUT]]
Keeping your head low, you fall to your knees and apologize while holding back your tears.
"I've never seen a human before, I've heard your kind is lead by greed and decit. I won't kill you since you've begged for mercy. Survive the labryinth and I'll allow you to live. The choice is yours."
[[INTO THE BOWELS OF THE ABYSS]] You push against the side of the panel stopping yourself from dropping further. Slowly you inch your way back up, keeping focused on the square light above you. Suddenly! You see Latarian poke down shaking his head! He dumps a pot of oil and laughs as you keep sliding down.
[[STOP CLIMBING]] You ride down thrilled by the twists and turns before landing on a pile of hay. A guard with the head and muscles of a bear walks over and lifts you by the neck, he shakes you violently and wipes the dirt away. He lowers a naginata allowing the blade tip to touch your cheek.
"I'll not kill you unless you try to run away from me. Your time has come, there are two doors before you. One is a promising swift death while the other is depending upon how you endure and survive."

Before you can say more, the floor beneath you gives way and you suddenly feel yourself sliding down a darkened passage and towards an uncertain fate.
[[PREPARE FOR IMPACT!]]

You open the door and wonder why the guard has jumped backwards, you feel the sudden drop and in the torchlight you see your life erase as punji sticks rise up to greet your falling body.
The End
Play Again? [[Opening]] You turn right and are facing a long hallway disappearing into shadows ahead, a guard taps your back urging a choice to be made.
[["WHAT'S DOWN THIS HALL?"]]
[[KEEP WALKING]] "What's down this hall?" You ask the guard while trying to adjust to the dimly lit passage.
"I'll tell you as long as you answer one question from me too. Comunication is a two way path as they say," the guard says, resting on his weapon.
[[ANSWER HIS QUESTION]]
[[KEEP WALKING]] You walk further down the hall ever aware of the blade at your back. The shadows around you soon build and fade revealing a giant room with a fire pit in the center. The walls are bare except for five doors standing on the opposite side of the chamber. The guard pushes you to the wall without warning.
"Choose your fate." He says.

[[DOOR 4]]
"I've never seen a human before so I have to ask you, why did you cross the barrier in the first place?"
"I was chasing a rabbit I was hunting and didn't pay attention to the gap in the fence." You answer in a bleak tone.
The guard leans against the wall making a deep horrifying chuckle that echoes around you.
"It's always the ones that get away who do you in. Ah well, you answered my question so it's all fair. Contrary to the stereotype, we're not the bloodthirsty captors we've been made out to be. Truth is, its you the prisoner who decides their fate. I'm here to report back the end result. Speaking of which, we should keep going." He says pushing again.
[[KEEP WALKING]]<img src="Assets/small_dinner.jpg">

After stumbling briefly, you land in liquid and upon surfacing see sunlight from an opening in the roof. Landwellers surround you cheering in excitement, some raising a mug of mead. In the midst of the excitement you smell something roasting and after looking around, realized you’ve just become tonight’s dinner.
[[Opening]] After climbing down a rope, you discover a room filled from floor to ceiling in nothing but gold coins and gemstones. Riches beyond your measure and all yours for the taking except for the skeletons clinging to the bags and the rotten rope that has landed beside you sealing you below as the new addition.
[[RESIGN TO YOUR FATE]]
[[CLIMB OUT]]Salvation is in sight as you open the door and see the throne room...just beyond the caged door. Latarian stands to the side with his arms folded.
"There's only one final test human. Two keys lie in front of you yet there are three ways to complete your trial."
[[USE SKULL KEY]]
[[USE EAGLE KEY]]
[[I GIVE UP!]]A coffin sits on top of a pedastal illuminated by torches. There's a door further down to your immediate right.
[[GO RIGHT]]
[[OPEN THE COFFIN]]Your lungs are on fire from running too fast, you're leaning against the wall because your legs quit. You watch Latarian as you crawl backwards and as he gasps in surprise, you close the door and nod at the guard.
The End
Who Doesn't think skulls are cool? You grab the skull key and twist the lock expecting another trick except, nothing happened! The door swings open and Latarian points at you.
" I don't care what you did or what race you are! Get out of my kingdom before I throw you into the arena instead!" He yells.
Not wasting a second you bolt out the door pushing your tired body more as guards give chase from behind. At last you find the opening and dive back to the boundary cutting your leg along the way. You survived the labryinth and lived to tell about it! Besides, if others don't believe you, you've got this scar to prove it!
The End

You stare at Latarian holding the key in your hand.
"What are you expecting me to do? Pat you on the head and say good job here's a cookie?" He asks.
Turning the lock you shove your way past the royal pain who put you through this turmoil. The night air is cool and sweet as you keep ducking through shadows until reaching the gap in the boundary. You climb through and hours later see the lights of your village. You go to bed tired and hungry but have learned never to go chasing rabbits through strange holes!
The End
Looking at the gold bars and jewels scattered around, you build a glittering tomb and close yourself inside holding that blasted rope!
[[INTO THE BOWELS OF THE ABYSS]] Cursing along the way, you build a golden platform until your fingers grasp the floor above. You think about those sweetrolls you'd eaten earlier as you struggle to lift yourself back to freedom.
[[INTO THE BOWELS OF THE ABYSS]] You open the coffin shuddering in surprise at your own reflection looking back from the mirror inside. There's no time to question as the reflection reveals the spiked ceiling dropping from above.
[[NOSE DIVE!]] The guard prevents you from stepping across the threshold and points back to the coffin in silence.
[[KICK EM WHERE IT COUNTS!]] Latarian pulls Retribution, his five bladed axe from the folds of his robe.
"Spies are a festering pile of fleas that need to be eradicated from this world."
He lunges at you driving one of the blades into your ribcage before lifting you like a caught fish struggling on a line. As your life drains, the last image you see is the wall you're about to hit as the king tosses you aside.
The End
Play Again? [[Opening]] You slide into a dark room with a single passageway lighting the way out. A statue of an armed warrior stands to the side of the doorframe glaring in a frozen growl. You step towards it and bump the sword held in its hand. A loud hiss echoes around you as the gas fumes knock you out.
[[WAKE UP!]]
A raging migraine headache wakes you up causing you to sit on your hands and knees as the world spins quickly by. Crawling along the floor you move further down the passage. You stop to catch your breath only to hear a click activate something farther down. Wheels begin to squeak and pick up speed towards you, a panel of blades rushes with a victim screaming for you to run!
[[CROSSROADS]] <img src="Assets/small_trap.jpg">
<audio autoplay>\ <source src="Assets/scream_trap.wav"></audio>
With death literally screaming at your back, you race down the halls and leap towards an opening. The panel races behind you crashing into the wall and blocking most of the area except for one direction.
[[RIGHT]]
You have crossed the boundary of the Landweller Kingdom and have violated the peace treaty. Latarian, the king stands before you (don't make eye contact!) What do you say in your defense?
[[I CHASED PREY AND LOST TRACK OF IT]]
[[I'M A SPY HERE TO CLAIM YOUR GOLD]]
[[I'M SORRY, IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN]]
[[TACKLE THE GUARD]] Fearing the fate that awaits, you turn around screaming like a maniac aiming to knock the guard aside. Your cries mute lower as you realize that the guard is much larger than you! He chuckles as your head nudges his chest lightly while he grabs you by the neck carrying you back to the King.
Latarian grabs a leash and collar from beneath the throne and places it around you.
"I wonder if it's housebroken?" He asks as you realize you've just become the court pet.
[[THE TRIAL]] You lean forward closing the coffin lid behind as the ceiling drops down grazing your waist before stopping. A loud clicking echoes around as the spikes lift back into place. You climb out happy to be alive and face the door to the right.
[[GO RIGHT AHEAD]] Cursing to yourself you punch the wall as the guard laughs at you for walking in a giant circle. Anger boils inside as you grab a log from the firepit and smash it against the guard's skull and take his weapon. With a roaring made beast at your heels and the clanking of steel ahead, you run back to the set of doors once again.

You thrust your foot in a swift kick happy to know your time with the trainer worked wonders after all! The guard drops briefly watching you as the wind gets knocked out of him. Leaping over the grunting body, you grab his fallen weapon and stand on the opposite side of the door.
[[MOVING FORWARD]] You slam the door shut and run towards the opposite entrance. Inside you hear the guard climbing up and shuffling towards the same spot, a sudden click thunders and as you turn towards the open doorway you see the ceiling trap was triggered by a pressure point along the wall.
[[MOVING FORWARD]] You backtrack to the choice of doors and as you stand lost in confusion, you spot a tiny switch on the floor beneath door number 1.

[[PUNCH IT AND JUMP!]] Hearing guards approaching, you open the door and step on the button before jumping and sliding down a dark shaft. Watching a funny handle between your legs dropping faster, you land on top of a boiling pot sitting in a firepit! Surrounded by stunned Landwellers, you make rush out the opening in the back and emerge on the streets of the kingdom itself.
[[RUN LEFT!]]
[[STRAIGHT DOWN]]
[[OUTTA SIGHT ON THE RIGHT!]] Ignoring the stunned gasps and shrieks of the inhabitants, you keep running down the left side of the street before diving into an open path and land before the cheering crowds of thousands! Standing up in triumph, you take a bow until you spot Brodarian, the eight foot Landweller with a tiger's head and arena champion for over 30 years. The last image you see is his shadow standing over you as a clawed hand squeeezes your life away.
The EndSeeing freedom straight ahead of you, you keep pushing yourself ahead ignoring the pain in your legs and the weight on your chest as exhaustion kicks in. Your hopes dash as soon the buildings look familiar once more as a group of guards lift you and bring you back inside the palace.
[[THE TRIAL]] Hearing shouts and insults from the right path you move down slowly and nervous about the excitement. You feel relief as you spot a group of warriors chanting, "Save the human!"
One of the protestors spots you and lifts you above his shoulders, the others follow forming a protective shield as the guards notice the scrawny figure in the air. The group stops near a lowering in the wall and toss you over the side. You see the entrance to your land only a few inches away and listen to the sounds of blades striking flesh knowing that sacrifices were made for your safety. And one day soon, there's always a price to pay.
