You are playing as [[Victor]], a 15 year old freshman at Riverside High School on Milwaukee's northside. You live with your mother Karen and two brothers, Michael (19) and Anthony (9). Currently your father is incarcerated in Milwaukee County Jail on gang and drug related charges. You recently moved to the area and started hanging out with a new friend. His name is Tucker who is a 16 year old sophomore that has a history of being in a juvenile detention center on drug possession charges that you are unaware of.School has ended and you begin your walk home with Tucker. As you are glancing down at your phone, Tucker moves swiftly and he quickly jumps an innocent bystander on the sidewalk. In shock, you're left with no choice but to [[flee the scene]] and run home. You have arrived home and as you walk in the door your brother Michael sees your destrought face, he asks "Whats up?". You can either [[tell Michael]] what happened or [[don't tell Michael]] and go about your day normally.
[[Back to start]] You told Michael what has happened, and he offers you a ride home from school tomorrow. You can tell Michael you will [[accept his offer]] or you can handle yourself and [[walk home yourself]].
[[Back to start]] You chose not to tell your brother what happened yesterday and go about your day normally by [[ going to school tomorrow]].
[[Back to start]] As you are walking out of school with Tucker he takes out a blunt wrapper from his pocket and says that he is about to meet up with his older friend Jared. Tucker insists that it is a short walk and invites you to [[come with]]. But don't forget that [[Michael will take you home]].
[[Back to start]] As you begin your [[walk home]] with Tucker today, you bump into Jared. Jared is one of Tucker's older friends who you think may be gang affliated. Jared takes out a blunt wrapper from his pocket and offer you to [[come with]] him and Tucker at his house the next street over.
[[Back to start]] As you begin your walk home today with Tucker you bump into Jared. Jared is one of Tucker's older friends who you think may be gang affliated. Jared takes out blunt wrapper from his pocket and offer you to [[come with]] to his house, one street over. But you remember you need to be home on time, so you continue to [[walk home]].
[[Back to start]] You have arrived at Jared's house, everything seems ok, and you have began to smoke a blunt in Jared's garage. After the blunt is done, Jared takes out a small dime bag of cocaine and does a line off of his cracked iPhone screen display. He says that cocaine is expesive but, he thinks you and Tucker are cool and that you can have a line for free. Tucker says yes instantly, says c'mon and looks at you hoping you will [[take the line]]. Since this is your first time you are nervous and [[decline the line]].
[[Back to start]] You get in the car with Michael, and begin to talk about your day. Once you have made it back home you ask your brother if he wants to watch tv. He says yes and as you are watching he tells you that if you ever want a ride home just to let him know, so you can either [[ask for a ride]] or tell him [[you're fine walking]].
[[Back to start]] You made it back home from your walk alone with Tucker. Your brother is watching TV on the couch as asks if you want to join him. As you are talking he tells you that you don't need to hesitate to [[ask for a ride]]. You feel stubborn today so you tell him [[you're fine walking]].
[[Back to start]] As you take the line, you notice your vision starts to blur and you are feeling light headed. You try to stand up but you fall back into your seat. However, you aren't trying to make a big scene in front of your "cool" friends but it might be time to leave and [[call Michael to pick you up]]. After thinking about it, you don't want your friends thinking you aren't cool so you [[stay and tough it out]].
[[Back to start]] You feel uncomfortable after declining a line of cocaine, so you persist you must [[call Michael to pick you up]].
[[Back to start]] The next day Michael picks you up again, but instead of going home, Michael has planned to teach you how to play basketball. He asks if you want to go to the courts down the street from school. Basketball has always been something you wanted to try, but never had time to. Either you can [[play basketball]] or [[tell Michael to take you home]].
[[Back to start]] The next day walking home with Tucker, he suggests you to [[skip school with him]] and come to Jared's house tomorrow because his mom will be out of town. But you remember [[you can't get another truancy]] otherwise you will be fined.
[[Back to start]] You're at the basketball courts with Michael and you mention how Tucker has been influencing you to do things you normally wouldn't. Michael offers to bring you to [[go to basketball practice]] with him a few times a week to keep safe from getting in trouble. You also don't want to lose your friendship with Tucker so you [[continue hanging out with Tucker]].
[[Back to start]] Michael takes you home and you slam your bedroom door shut. You think you're old enough to make your own decesions and don't want to be treated like a baby anymore. In the moment you're really frustrated, Tucker's friend lives close so you decide to sneak out and [[continue hanging out with Tucker]].
[[Back to start]] This is the first time you have tried cocaine and before you can act, you pass out unexpectedly. You're unresponsive and your friends are unsure of what to do, so they call 911 and lay you outside on the porch because they didn't want to get in trouble. Once you wake up, you realize you're in an ambulance and [[on your way to the hospital]].
[[Back to start]] You called Michael and you get in the car, without hesitation you tell him what happened. Once you get home Michael comes to your room to talk, he's in complete shock. He expresses the outcome of what would happen if you continue going down the path of drugs and bad behavior. He tells you he doesn't think Tucker is a good influence for you and shouldn't hang around him anymore and offers you to come to [[play basketball]] with him. Or you can [[continue hanging out with Tucker]].
[[Back to start]] You skip school with Tucker, he shows you his new handgun he got from his Dad's gun safe. He suggests that the convenience store up the street would be easy to rob with the gun. If you go with him you'll get half of whatever he can get. You can't go home right now since you already committed to skipping, so you [[decide to go]].
[[Back to start]] You go to school tomorrow and since you have no one to walk home with you ask Michael if he could pick you up. Michael picks you up, but instead of going home, Michael has planned to [[play basketball]] with you since no one else will be home.
[[Back to start]] When you see Tucker later, he shows you his new handgun he got from his Dad's gun safe. He suggests that the convenience store up the street would be easy to rob with the gun. If you go with him you'll get half of whatever he can get. You can't go home right now, so you [[decide to go]].
[[Back to start]] Once you start going to practice with Michael, you develop a stronger relationship with him than you ever had. You now set up scheduled days to practice basketball with Michael. You are 2 weeks into a set routine to meet Michael at the courts right after school, but Tucker has been bugging you to hangout and is mad that you have been ditching him. The next time you see him at school, you [[tell Tucker to come with]] to practice after school today. Tucker says he isn't really into basketball, but he wants you to [[skip school with him]] tomorrow.
[[Back to start]] You go to the convenience store several blocks away from home, you immediately feel nervous. But it is never too late to [[turn back]] and go home. You know Tucker would be upset if you decided to turn back now that you have gone this far. Plus, you already verbally commited to [[go with Tucker]].
[[Back to start]] Before you make it to the hospital your heart gives out and are unable to be saved. Even though it was your first time doing cocaine, there were mixed chemicals within the cocaine you were obviously unaware of. Your mother and Michael were alerted to urgently [[rush to the hospital]].
[[Back to start]] Once your mother and brother arrive at the hospital, they were told the story of you being found left outside of a house unconscious and your heart gave out before you were able to make it back to the hospital. Your brother is in pity for not bringing attention to your previous incidents he was alerted by, and your mother feels ashamed of herself for not being around enough to prevent you from going down the wrong path. Your funeral is in 3 days.
[[Back to start]] You arrive to the concenience store and Tucker hands you his dad's 9mm glock, you nervously shove it between your pants by your hip. This is the first time you have ever been in this type of situation so you don't know how to act. You and Tucker wait outside until there is no one inside the store to interupt your task. Tucker gives you a head nod to indicate the coast is clear. You abruptly rush into the store with ski-mask's on demanding cash. While Tucker is looking out, [[the police incidentally arrive to the scene]].
[[Back to start]] What you were unaware of, was that the store clerk had already suspected unusual behavior from you two standing outside of his store. The store clerk had already called the police before the robbery happened to notify the police department there were two kids who were not at school. The squad car blocks the entrance of the store and you are now trapped. Nervously that you are, you stop and drop the handgun to prevent any preceding crime. You and Tucker end up handcuffed in the back of the squad car [[on the way to the police department]].
[[Back to start]] Once you arrive at the police station, you are put into the interrogation room. According to what your "friend" Tucker says to the investigator, it was your handgun and your idea to rob the convenience store. Since you are the age of 16, you are being tried as an adult for attempted robbery and a possesion of a weapon. Your family cannot pay bond, so you are obligated to [[stay in jail until your court date]].
[[Back to start]] You turn back because you knew it was the wrong thing to do. Tucker is mad, but you realize a real friend wouldn't pressure you into doing something you wouldn't want to do, especially committing a crime. Michael is at home but will be mad if you call him since you aren't at school and your mom is working. You're decently far away from home and not in the greatest area to be walking alone, there is no one else to call for a ride beside to [[call Michael]].
[[Back to start]] You call Michael for a ride and he immediately sounds upset you are on that side of town. According to the story you told Michael, you went to your friend Tucker's house after the half-day at school and needed to be picked up. Your story doesn't sound entirely believable but Michael wouldn't leave his brother stranded, especially on that side of town. Michael picks you up and tries to question you to see if you were really telling the truth. He doesn't want you walking with Tucker because he is concerned that you might end up on that side of town again, he says you can always [[ask for a ride]].
[[Back to start]] You were found guilty at court for the charges against you, you are now sentenced to county jail for 3 years. You say your goodbye's to your family as the police escort you out of the court room.
[[Back to start]] You and Tucker begin joining Michael everyday after school to play basketball and eventually get a few other kids in your school to join as well. Over the course of 3 months, you have drawn enough people to make a pick-up game team. Michael is the oldest on the team and executively decides to name the team "[[Running Rebel's]]".
[[Back to start]] You have succesfully chosen the better path! The basketball team Michael lead has now grown to an expaning community organization for youth in danger of trouble. Based on the experience Michael grew with you and the other youth on the team, he developed an understanding that not everyone has a role model in their life. He wants to be known as a role model figure because as a kid, Michael didn't have a role model to look up to. In the eyes of yourself, you look up to Michael as a positive influence for drawing you and your friends keeping kids away from negative and dangerous situations that happen on the streets, and potentially save lots of kids lives.
