8 am- The teacher is sending children who need extra help into the hall way with volunteer Katie. A student struggling with vocabulary words is brought out to a table in the hall. You are the student, Chris, and the goal is to sort through obstacles and get the work finished and to learn how to write and spell the vocabulary words. [[Start Game]]

You don't have any paper or pencils and do not have the homework done. The Volunteer Katie says “Okay its time to work, Do you need Anything?” Your response as Chris is [[I don't have paper or a pencil and don't have the homework done]] [[No, Im fine, and look around for extra supplies]]

Katie finds extra supplies and brings them to you, but you still are struggling with the assignment, So you decide [[You are not going to do it]] [[Ask Katie for help]] [[Not say anything, hoping Katie will notice and will come help.]]

You couldnt find any extra pencils, you decide [[To sit without a pencil, unable to work]] [[Ask a friend]] [[Ask Katie]]

Katie responds in a positive tone “ I am here to help you so lets do it together” [[Tell Katie that you also need help to finish the homework]] [[Only work on todays assignment with Katie]]

By doing it alone you continue to spell the vocabulary words wrong. While Katie checks it she tells you to [[Try Again]]

You start working on today vocabulary words. As you are working Katie begins to sound out the word by saying "sq". You respond with writing "sq" on your paper. She then sounds out "uirr" and you write "iur" on your paper. Katie looks at your paper and kindly says "Chris that is not correct try again and focus on the sounds of the letters" You respond by.... Katie forces you to take the pencil. "It isn't a choice Chris, you will thank me later." You cross your arms and pout but in the end follow Katies directions. She then explains todays first vocabulary word assignment. The assignement is wriiting out this weeks animal vocabulary words.The first word is squirrel. You hear the word read aloud by Katie. Katie catches you and tells you that is not acceptable, and throws your paper in the garbage for no credit. You ask to try again promising not to cheat, after Katie agrees you begin to [[work again]]

WIN Scenario 1: Chris gets all the supplies and guidance needed to excel and learn continuously

Katie explains to you that she will only be able to help you here at school. If you choose to do the assignment at home there is a possiblity you will NOT do it correctly or that your parents will not be able to read the words aloud to you. You resond by Staying with your original decsion of working on it at [[Home]] Work on it at school with [[Katie]]

Katie checks your vocabulary words and there are several that are mispelled, she makes you focus on the word [["squirrel"]] first.

Katie explains you must listen and write down the words how you think they are spelled and then you will recieve the reward [[Do as she says]] [[Throw a fit and say "I want it now"]]

Katie sees you put your head down. She asks if you are tired. You reply and tell her about how you couldn't sleep because Mom and Dad were fighting. You continue to tell her that you were only able to get an hour of [[sleep]].

Katie tells you the spelling is incorrect and so you try again, after getting it correct you move onto the next part of today's assignment. Katie gives you a high-five since you spelled it right. You move on to the next word. Katie tells you the animal: Octopus. You start to work on spelling and writing it. You continue through the assignment with Katies help. After getting one wrong, James the other student working with you calls you stupid, you get mad and push him. James pushes back, Katie tells you guys to stop it. You and James keep arguing. James takes your paper and throws it in the [[garbage.]]

Ooops! You answered incorrectly. [[try again]] or become discouraged and [[quit]]

After Katie brings you another peice of paper and you start working, you finally get the question right and move on to the next question. Katie gives you question number 2 by reading aloud. After talking to Mrs.Smith you decide you need to apologize to Katie! [[Go back to Katie and apologize for your behavior]]

Katie accepts your apology, and you begin to work. Katie gives you question number 2 by reading aloud. She tells you need to correctly spell the animal "panther". [[ panther]] [[panthar]] [[panter]]

You make it home. Mom and Dad are both gone and you decide to watch [[T.V.]]

The Prinipal gives you the option to either stay in the [[office]] all day and write about what you did wrong or go to class and [[apologize]] for your actions.

You spend the day in the office after writing a paragraph about your wrong choice to run away and hide in the bathroom. At the end of the day Katie sees you and offers to stay with you. You say [[yes]] or [[no]]

Katie accepts your apology. You need a break, [[push through]] or tell Katie you want a [[5 minute break]]

Win- Although you acted up, you made the right choice to stay and get help with Katie after school. Chris has shown improvement and learned a lesson.

Katie allows you take a little break and after 5 minutes tells you to get back to work until lunch. You finish lunch feeling accomplished. You then attend your normal class with Mrs.Smith. You finish dance. You then attend your normal class with Mrs.Smith. There are 30 minutes left in the school day, Mrs. Smith hands out the in class question of the day for the end of the day. You ask Katie for [[help]]

You copy the sentence and your Mom and Dad still arent home, so you go to [[bed]] without finshing your homework

Todays intervention is a reading portion. For intervention each student gets a chromebook and works alone for 30 minutes everyday required by the district to show improvements throughout the year. For the reading program, Chris is a driver on a road with three lanes. Each lane has a word with a main picture shown. Your job is to use your mouse to choose the correct lane that contains the word for what the picture is by moving the car. The first picture shown is a [[house]]

The the three lanes are [[Hose]], [[House]], [[Heart]]. Choose the correct lane!

You have now moved onto the next online program. This program puts you in the shoes of a player. The player is a ant like creature. It is bouncing on a diving board above a pool. The program will show you the beginning of the word and you have to choose the ending from the pool. If you get the answer correct, your character continues to jump on the diving board and flips. If you answer incorrectly your player jumps in the water and you are forced to start over. Let's [[Begin]] Chris!

Congrats Chris, You made it to the end of the school day. Katie approaches you and hugs you because she sees the hard work you put in today despite obstacles. She is excited to see what next week will bring when she comes back[[!!]]

Time has passed and you have correctly finished 30 of the words. You come to word number 31. A star shows up in the middle of the diving board. When your player jumps on it a message shoes up on your screen. It is a yellow star, you click on it. It reads "FINAL WORD, 100 bonus points if answered correctly" You get excited and nervous.If you answer correctly you get the bonus points and are done for the day. But if you choose the wrong word you loose and will be sent back to the beginning. [[Click]] the start to hear and see the word

The computer reads aloud "Playdough". The beginning of the word is given as "playdo" the options are as follows. Choose carefully Chris. [[ugh]] [[ow]] [[ah]]

Chris.... YOU DID IT. [[CONGRATS]] all of your hardwork has payed off, Katie is proud and you should be too.

Chris...Nice try but you dont get the bonus points and are sent back to the [[beginning]].

Good job Chris you won!! You earned the 100 bonus points and finish the game with your charcter doing 6 flips in a row! You worked hard and it payed off despite the obstacles.

Lose- You were so close Chris but fell short in the end. You improved but not to the level excpected.
