Jack and the Beanstalk

You are a poor farmer boy named Jack. You and your mother live alone in a small cottage and your only source of income is your dairy cow's milk. One day your cow, ol' Bessie stops producing milk. [[Keep Bessie as a pet]] [[Kill Bessie for beef]] [[Try to sell Bessie]]

You have had ol' Bessie for a while and decide that she has too much sentimental value to get rid of or kill. You make up your mind that you will keep Bessie and take care of her. You live happily but hungrily with Bessie for a while until one day a stranger approaches the house asking to buy your cow. He offers incredibly rare magic beans in exchange. [[Accept his offer]] [[Tell him to go away]]

You decide that Bessie has served her purpose and it would be hard to sell a dairy cow that can't produce milk, so it would be best to at least get some food. At least it will keep you alive for long enough to find another way to make money. The meat should last your family a while. You and your mother survive on this for the next few days, when a stranger approaches your house. "I smelled the delicious cooking beef and I had to come take a look!" he cries out as he walks up to the front door. "I would like to buy some." Your mother replies "This meat is all we have, we are not selling." She turns and walks back inside, and you are left standing alone with the stranger. He asks you to sneak him a piece of meat and he will give you some incredibly rare magic beans. [[Tell him to go away]] [[Accept his offer]]

You decide that Bessie has no use for your family any more, and should be sold. You wander down the street with Bessie for a while, asking here and there if anyone needs a cow. Nobody seems interested, until you encounter a stranger who offers you some incredibly rare magic beans in exchange for Bessie. [[Accept his offer]] [[Tell him to go away]]

You tell the stranger you are not interested in trading with him and he mumbles and wanders off. You return to your life and are able to survive for a while but with no consistent source of income your family grows hungry and you eventually starve. [[Try again]]

You decide that you can't pass up the opportunity to get these magic beans, and make the trade. You pocket the beans, and go to tell your mother of this new acquisition you have made. Your mother doesn't understand how rare these beans are and is furious that you have traded essentially all your family had in exchange for some beans. She throws them outside and tells you to go to your room. [[Go to your room]]

You try to sleep but the frustrations of the day keep you awake. There is also an odd creaking noise coming from outside that you don't recognize. [[Keep trying to sleep]] [[Investigate the noise]]

You eventually are able to fall asleep. You wake up in the morning and it is darker than usual. You look out your window to find that there is a massive pillar outside blocking the sun. Upon further investigation you realize that it is the largest beanstalk you have ever seen. You go outside and see it stretches all the way into the clouds. [[Climb the beanstalk]] [[Try to cut it down]]

You find a large beanstalk growing at an incredible rate in front of your house where the beans were thrown. The top is maybe 5 feet off the ground and rising fast. [[Try to cut it down]] [[Sit on top]]

The beanstalk takes a very long time to climb but you eventaully are able to reach the top. You step off into what seems to be a whole other world hidden in the clouds. There is a massive castle in front of you, with doors larger than any human would ever be able to open. [[Climb back down]] [[Explore the castle]]

It takes a long time to get through the thick stalk but eventually you are able to cut the huge stalk down. It falls to the earth with a thud, narrowly missing your house. You are able to see some large beans on the stalk and towards the top you see some beans similar to the ones you got from the stranger. You pick the beans, about 20 basketball sized ones and 5 of the small ones which it grew from. [[Save the beans for food]] [[Try to replant the small ones]]

You decide the castle is too scary and retreat back to your house where it is safe. You are now living your normal life again plus there is a giant beanstalk in your yard. [[Keep the beanstalk there]] [[Try to cut it down]]

You manage to slide under the gap in the doors, and find yourself in a hallway. There is a sealed door ahead and an open room to the left and to the right. [[Go left]] [[Go right]]

You take a seat on the top of the stalk, and it rises higher and higher with you on top. Eventually you find yourself above the coulds, in front of a giant castle. [[Climb back down]] [[Explore the castle]]

You are able to survive for a while off of the bean supply but without a steady income you are unable to stay fed and eventually die of starvation. [[Try again]]

The beanstalk grows again, incredibly high and into the clouds as it did before. [[Try to cut it down]] [[Climb the beanstalk]]

Life continues as normal for a while and then one day a giant comes climbing down the stalk. He steps on your house and you barely manage to escape. He goes wandering around the land smashing and destroying everything in his path. [[Run away and find a new land to live in]] [[Try to stop him]]

This is a hard time in the world and you are unable to find anywhere that is better to live and cannot support yourself. [[Keep trying to survive away from your homeland]] [[Move back home and deal with the giant]]

The king's men have established a fighting force to deal with the giant. There is also the possibility of laying a trap with the beanstalk to crush the giant since it is the only thing large enough to do the job. [[Join the fighting force]] [[Set up the beanstalk trap]]

Eventually, without income or a food source, you are unable to keep yourself sustained. You die of starvation, far from home. [[Try again]]

You assemble with a large fighting force and try to face the giant. It stomps over you all and easily defeats you. [[Try again]]

You get a fast horse rider to get the giant's attention and lure it towards the stalk, staying one step ahead. There is a team of men waiting by the stalk, ready to cut it down when the giant draws near. It works perfectly, and the giant is crushed under the massive stalk. When the king hears of your great idea and heroic deed, he rewards you with a large home near his castle and a large sum of gold. You are able to support your mother and you live happily ever after.

You find yourself in a very large room with a golden goose. As it stands up you can see that it is sitting on a large golden egg. [[Take the goose]] [[Just leave]]

You find yourself in a very large room with a harp. The harp appears to be playing by itself. [[Take the harp]] [[Just leave]]

You grab the goose and begin to make for the exit. As you are leaving you hear some loud stomping and a deep voice booming "Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of an English man: Be he alive, or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread." [[Hide]] [[Make a run for the exit]]

You back out of the room and find yourself in the hallway again. [[Go left]] [[Go right]] [[Leave the castle]]

You grab the harp and begin to make for the exit. As you are leaving you hear some loud stomping and a deep voice booming "Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of an English man: Be he alive, or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread." [[Hide]] [[Make a run for the exit]]

You are standing back outside the castle, by the beanstalk. [[Climb back down]] [[Explore the castle]]

You duck under a corner of the giant chair that is next to you. The giant lumbers out of the door that was closed and stomps around, sniffing the air. He grumbles about for a while, searching the castle. After a while he walks into the room that you stole from. [[Make for the exit]] [[Stay hidden]]

You begin to make a run for the exit but the giant is faster and he snatches you up and eats you. [[Try again]]

You sneak out the door and hear shouting as the giant discovers your theft. You hurry down the beanstalk and immediately cut it down so there is no chance the giant can catch you. You present your new prize to your mother and she realizes that you can make a fortune off of it. The two of you are able to buy a nicer home and live happily ever after.

You remain hiding, the giant realizes that you have stolen from him. He begins shouting and frantically searching around the castle. He is knocking furniture aroudn and eventually shoves the chair you are hiding under. You are crushed by the giant mass of the chair and die. [[Try again]]
