Your children arrive home from school. Tino, who is often rebellious, slams the door on his way inside the house. You realize that Tino may have had a bad day at school today. [[You get a phone call->Phone Call, Tino]] Back to [[Start]]

You answer the phone call. One of Tino's teachers from his middle school is on the opposite end. [[Teacher Talks]] Back to [[Start]]

The teacher says that Tino instigated a fight during recess. The other children in the fight said that Tino attacked them. You know that your son acts rebellious at home, but he has never violently hurt anyone at school before. Tino is suspended from the middle school for five days. He also has to write a five-page essay about his actions. When you approach Tino in his bedroom, he is breathing heavily and is very upset about what happpened at school. Tino: "It's not my fault mom. Billy was making fun of me for not being able to buy my own lunch. He took his own potatoes and ''slapped'' me in the face with them. I punched him back, mom. You go to Tino to talk. He doesn't want to talk to you at first but you tell him you just want to chat. You: "Tino, I am proud you for standing up for yourself but you should never hit another kid. You let him have some time to cool off. You try to think of what could have caused this. Was it something you've done? He hasn't been in a great spot lately but you assumed that was because of his age. Still, this kind of behavior isn't ok. The kids finish eating and are ready to go to school. Clara has to be at the elementary school a few blocks away in 20 minutes. You also have to take two buses to work and get there in an hour. It's time for dinner. You don't have enough food for everyone to eat. The kids are hungry but you know you should save your money to pay for rent. You get in line for food. You and your kids grab trays and get them filled with food. You look for a place to sit. You look around for an empty table, but your only option is to sit with strangers. You are half way through a very busy day of work trying to make your boss happy for the times you were late. You are taking an order when you hear the phone ring. "Carrie, it's for you. You apologize to the customers and say you will be right back. You take the phone from your co-worker. You: "Hello?" Principle: "Hello Ms. Carrie. I'm glad we could get a hold of you. Is there any chance you can get to the school?" The principle explains how Clara has injested something that has caused her to go into anaphylactic shock. You never gave any health care information to the school. They are asking if she has an EpiPen or if she should go to the hospital. you had no knowledge of any allergy. You are in the middle of a very busy day of work. Every table is full and you have not caught your breath since you started your shift. You are in the middle of writing down an order when the phone rings. "Carrie, it's for you. It's Clara's school." You apologize to the customers and say you will be right back. Your boss fixes you with a look as you walk over to the phone. You: "Hello?" Principle: "Hello Ms. Carrie. The school calls again and says it has gotten worse. It is becomeing very hard for her to breath [[They have called an ambulance]] Back to [[Start]]

The doctor says that Clara has been admited by the school for anaphylactic shock. Clara's teacher is there with her but they would like you to come as soon as possible. Your work is packed and your boss is already on edge. You have half an hour left. Should you finish out your shift or risk possibly getting fired and go to the hospital? You finish your shift and your co-worker gives you a ride to the hospital. You walk into Clara's room. She refuses to look at you. She is eventually allowed to go home and you take the bus. She doesn't speak a word the whole way home. You lose. You did not fully take care of your child. Go back to [[Start]]

You grab your things and rush out the door. You get to the hospital and find Clara's room. She is doing better but is pretty shaken up. She gives you a small smile as you enter the room. A nurse comes up to you and asks if you can sign some sheets. You look back at Clara but she avoids your eyes. [[Go to Clara]] [[Walk way to sign the papers]] Back to [[Start]]

You tell the nurse you will sign them in a minute. Clara smiles at you as you walk over. You ask how she is doing. She says she is feeling better now. Soon she is allowed to go home. You ride the bus home in comfortable silence. When you get home Clara stops. You ask her what is wrong and start to worry. She smiles at you and just says "I'm glad you're my mom." You Win! You give Clara a smile which she does not return and go to sign the papers. You return to the room but Clara refuses to look at you. Soon she is fine and is released. You are given a perscription for an Epipen along with a bill. Clara does not talk to you the whole way home. Back to [[Start]]

Jenny just got home from school. She is asking if she could join the soccer team! You are so overwhelmed with excitement that you agree. That is a great idea but after a while you realize that money is tight and your boss is acting funny around you. You know that it will be heart breaking for Jenny but you feel that you are doing what is best for your entire family in the long run. Jenny then starts crying. Jenny heard you may not be able to afford her uniform and starts crying. It's been a long stressful day and you don't know what to do. Jenny comes home excited ''she made the team''. She hands you a list of the uniforms you need to purchase. You realize that this may be even trickier to afford because it is time to pay your bills this week. You ask if you can sit next to the family, and they are more than welcoming. The older man introduces himself and his son to your three children. After your meal is over, the teenage boy recommends that you check out the soup kitchen's food pantry to take home groceries for free. It's getting dark out and you want to take your kids home. You win! It is very difficult to ask for help. You want to be a strong mother for you kids and never want them to feel ashamed of you. Going to the soup kitchen was the greatest challenge for you because you will be seen publicly there and you fear it represents you not being able to provide for your children. This is not ture. You are doing the best you can. In the end you did what was right by putting your pride aside and doing what was best for you kids and yourself. Congratulations you won the whole game!
