“Migrate?” Patty asked, “What’s that?” the geese looked at her and started laughing. “You don’t know what migrating is you silly little bird?” they quipped, “it’s the time of year where most birds fly to a new city to spend the winter”. With that they flew off, leaving Patty to her lunch and her thoughts. She started to wonder if she should try and migrate, see a new city!

As Patty flew she wondered what the park would look like, would there be lots of trees? Or rocks? Were there any lakes or rivers in it? Before she knew it she looked down and realized she was flying over it. “Oh no! I almost passed it” she thought as she flew down through the trees.
As soon as she landed Patty realized this park was way bigger than she thought and she’d need some help getting around. She looked around and saw a petite little squirrel and waved hello but the squirrel seemed nervous and backed up. “Wha- what do you want?” the squirrel stammered “I-I don’t want any trouble i’ll give you my food” she cowered. Patty was bewildered “I don’t want your food, I’m friendly and I’m new here I just wanted some help exploring”.

Central Park, located in middle-upper Manhattan, is one of the most famous parks in the world and the most visited urban park in the United States. The Park was established in 1857 on 778 acres of city-owned land. Its design was the result of an 1858 competition to improve and expand the small underdeveloped park space that was there before. Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux submitted the winning plan, and construction on the park began that same year. It was completed 15 years later in 1873. The park boasts several lakes, theaters, ice rinks, fountains, tennis courts, baseball fields, many playgrounds and other facilities.
