Once upon a time, there were two lads heading up to their grandparents' house for a long weekend. They couldn't wait to get to their grandparents' house. The school year, as usual, was very rough and the two had to endure lots of bullying. When the two lads were in public, they were vunerable and had to endure many laughs and jokes due to where they lived and came from, which is the lower side of town where the unpriviledged lived and resided. But together, the two lads were strong and they knew they could do anything with their very active imaginations. Robert is curious and ambitious; Sam is more cautious and logical.

You decide to go explore the house.

Sam looks at the bookcase and pulls out a book. Upon lifting it, the bookcase creaks open.

You are successful in your attempt. Robert and you head to bed. The next day comes and your grandparents come in to tell you that you have to go back home due to home school starting quickly.
The End...You look around the room with Robert. You spy a bookcase and other cases around the room.

Robert convinces Sam to go inside and investigate. The two boys enter and see a dark staircase intertwining before them.
As the boys enter and step onto the first step, they glance all around and they are surrounded by a chilly black void.
They get an errie feeling as they stand motionless on the current step.
Sam grabs Robert's arm. Robert reaches out and touches a cold mist in the darkness.
Robert pulls his hand back. The black mist swirls round and round up the spiral staircase until it forms a door shape at the top.
Robert starts to move closer but Sam holds his arm tighly holding him back.
A voice is heard echoing, "Don't step onto the tenth step"...
Robert pats Sam's hand to comfort him.
[[Both lads proceed upward towards the dark mysterious door]]
Grandma comes in and tells you that its just a old bunker from the war that is being worked on to turn into a new play room. She shuts the bookcase and offers to make you some hot chocolate and watch a classic old movie. The bookcase never opens again while you are there.
The End...As you go up the staircase, paintings start appearing along the walls...
In the paintings is nice meadow with some trees.
Starting with the first painting, there is a small black figure in the background. As you go upwards, the figure in the painting moves closer to the foreground, becoming bigger and more menacing...
As Sam--
[[Try to convince Robert to turn back]]
As Robert--
[[Hold fast and proceed towards the door and the creepy voice]]
You plead to Robert to not go any further and to turn back.

You are reassured by Robert and find the courage to proceed.

As the two lads proceed further up the stairs, the creepy voice gets louder and louder...
"Don't step onto the tenth step"...
The lads step onto the 4.. 5.. and 6th step..
The voice they hear starts laughing and singing hysterically...
The two lads continue upwards, staying close holding hands.
Once the boys reach the ninth step, the voice returns again with its warning..
"Don't step onto the tenth step"...
Robert reaches out to touch the door and its still very cold to the touch...
He pulls his hand back and looks at Sam.
As Robert--
You come up with a plan to just step onto the tenth step. What's the worst that can happen you say..

As Sam--
You being the logical one and one to think of alternate solutions, you convice Robert and you to just open the door and jump over the tenth step. There's a way around everything if you think about it...

Stepping onto the tenth step, the floor suddenly vanishes and the two boys fall into a black abyss.
It is dark all around then except the little bit of light coming from where they fell through..
Each boy calls out to the other as they fall through the black pit of despair..
Finally the two boys come crashing onto the floor at the bottom of the pit.
Sam is hurt badly on his right leg and can not get up..
Robert attempts to help him up and suddenly two portal open up befor the lads.
One is a portal back home where their grandmother awaits to help heal and mend Sam's leg..
The other portal shows a room with a fireplace with two chairs and someone is sitting looking onward into the flames swirling with magic, creating another door to be opened and explored...

Robert and Sam find themselves in a large and menacing room with a smorgasbord of delectable treats spread out on a long table. From teacakes to every fruit imaginable and one rather large chocolate fountain placed in the center. They hear the same voice from the staircase, enticing them to partake in the sweets. The watch as an impish creature bounces from the chair by the fire that has a goldish amber-like tint, and dances around them. The sick tone of the imp causes concern for Sam, but Robert is ready to endulge. The room is decked out and encased with Gold casings around the fireplace, the impish creature's skin is of a Goldish tint.
[[Sam convinces Robert to turn down the imp's offer to eat]]
[[Robert whispers to Sam that they could trick the imp and steal some cakes before they go home]]
The two lads into in and are greeted by their grandmother. She wraps up Sam's leg and they try to tell her what happened but alas she doesn't believe them. The two lads try to go back to the staircase but nothing is behind it and thus they continue to live the rest of there lives ever wondering if it was just a dream or not..
But one thing still remains... Sam's leg, it never fully heals and always kind of hurts. The only thing that remains from this mysterious adventure...
The End... Rather than going back to fix up Sam's leg, the two lads tough it out and proceed into the portal with figure sitting in front of the fireplace.
Once they step through, Sam's leg is magically healed, as the pain was just a test.
Robert approaches the chair, the imp reveals himself to the lads and dances around the fire.
The imp explains who he is, that he is the gatekeeper to many realms near and far filled with magic both good and bad.
The door inside the flames becomes more solid in front of the boys.
A second door appears off to the side, this one looks just like the first one at the top of the stairs...
The imp then dances about the room.
"Two doors you see, one is yours to be..."
"Where it leads will reveal your destiny surely.."
"Before you choose, you must correctly guess my name, for that is the rules of this game you play... I'll either return you to one home and reveal who you really are or you will go back living inside the so called home you have been accustomed to up till now.."
The two lads Robert and Sam look at one another.
Sam asks the imp for a hint.
The imp quickly says, "I spin spin all day long, this straw you see into gold bullion..."
The lads look around the room and search inside their heads for any clue who this could be..
[[Sam chooses the imps name correctly]]
[[Both Robert and Sam give up and request to be sent home immediately]]
The imp offers up a contract for thier bravery to never speak of the room or him in exchange for thier freedom.
They sign the contract.
Sam and Robert are presented with a door, transporting them back to their grandparent's house. They stand in front of the bookcase and never speak of the imp again.
The End...Sam walks up to the imp, distracting him with questions about where they are and who he really is..
The imp explains that he is the gatekeeper of many realms far and away, and he answers to no one.
The imp tells Sam that it has gotten very lonely here and seeing no one truly be worthy of stepping through their destiny portal has gotten rather dull...
Robert makes his way to the table of treats while the imps speaks and stuffs five cakes into his pocket.
The imp turns around as Robert finishes putting the treats away.
The imp then offers them a contract for them to sign, which they happily sign before reading just to get out of there.
A door appears before them..

[[Don't walk through the door]]
A barren wasteland stands before them. The door creaking behind them as the imp moves to close it. He smiles at Robert and Sam and replies...
"Enjoy your new home dearie... for every cake you took from the table, is how many dreadful years you will have to spend in your new home..."
"Take care.."
Robert looks at Sam and at the five cakes in his pocket... The two lads try to run back but the imp shuts the door and the wasteland becomes their new home.
The End...Robert hands the cakes back to the imp and apologizes for stealing. Sam convinces the imp to let them leave and go hom to thier grandparents. He agrees but with one catch. They must never tell anyone plus they must visit him every year to perform any task he ask of them.
They agree and walk through the door where they end up on the other side of the bookcase, gazing at it in awe and being petrified.
The End...Sam all of a sudden smiles at Robert and looks at the imp.
"You're name is Rumplestiltskin!!"
The imp is taken aback and jumps up and down screaming in anger as the lad guessed correctly.
"You tricked me, you tricked me" said the imp.
"Whatever you call it, we guessed your name, so fufill your side of the bargain," said Sam.
The imp allows them to enter into the door inside the flames. The door opens and magic circles the boys taking them to another realm where the true destiny of them awaits in their very own kingdom.
The two lads smile as the magic transform their attire into royal clothes and they remember who they truly are and they return to the home from which they came.
They enter and step through back and fufill each their destiny.
Upon entering the portal and as the two lads are whisked away to thier home realm, Sam and Robert feel a tug that is separating from each other.
[[Ignore and let the portal do its bidding]]The imp then snarls and huffs and puffs....
"oh you don't want to play do you... well then.. go ahead and step through that door to the side and you'll return to your so called home."
The two lads go forth and step through the door. Before it closes, they turn back and see the imp.
"You could have had it all dearie.. You could have chosen to be returned to your true home... But now you'll be forced to live on in deception.. Cheers dearie..."
The door slams shut.
Robert goes and opens it but nothing is behind it and the two lads forever live the rest of their lives wondering what if...
The End...Robert and Sam leave their bedroom and go explore the rest of grandma and pops old country house.
Robert lights a candle and the two walk from room to room exploring.
Upon reaching the kitchen with the cellar door, you hear scratching and yelling coming from the cellar door.

Grandma escorts them down the basement to show them they have nothing to fear.
Upon descending the staircase into the basement cellar, a dark and hairy creature with glowing eyes rears back on his hind legs and unleashes a deaf life scream.
Grandma walks up to it and tells it to hush up.
The creature bows down respectively. You two lads look at each other and back at Grandma.
She is now transformed into a hooded woman holding a staff.
Near her lies a portal and she lifts her hand to allow the portal to open wide and swallow everyonw in the room..
While doing so, the two lads look at each other, fearing for their life, they swirl and swirl until they come to a halt into a room with delectable treats.
Grandmother re-appears and explains to the boys that she is but a guardian for the gate keeper to the many realms above.
If the boys are true of heart is whether or not they will be revealed thier true destiny or suffer the horrible consequences.
Robert begins to ask her a question... but before he can, she disappears...
The two lads are then faced with the room with the treats and now a new creature imp emerges..

As Robert swims over, something swims near, touching his foot..
The End?Sam quickly awakes in a bed within a room decorated in gold and fine linen. He looks around and sees someone very familiar...
