How to write an Album Concept Game
The roundabout should be more time intensive, slightly punishing players for not listening to the song or reading the story, while also rewarding them with a joke or some interesting point about the story.\n\n[[Continue the story]]
This Album Concept project is meant to combine my three favorite sources of media in one: Music, Writing, and Games. A Concept Album is typically a bunch of songs that tell a story. For good examples refer to Ziggy Stardust, Deltron, the Protomen, etc. An Album Concept game takes this thought and reverses the order. While listening to the songs you love, write conflicts and allow players to work their way through to the end.\n\nFirst pick an album you love. Got one? Good. Listen to each song in turn. Each song gets a main node in the story string with 3 branching options: A good option, a roundabout option, and a failure option. Leave hints for either the good option or the roundabout option. One song for each node, post a [[link|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-WErNe1x18]] to the official video if possible so folks aren't left in the dark about what you're writing. Party hard. Imbed descriptions as you see fit.\n\n\nBut always seperate the big choices at the bottom of the screen.\n\n[[Good option]]\n\n[[Roundabout option]]\n\n[[Bad option]]\n\n[[Filler option|Bad option]]
The straightforward approach.\n\n[[Continue the story]]
This leads to a bit more work, and allows you to explore the story world in further detail. Focus on the ideas the main node song conjurs.\n\n[[Next option]]

Hooray! You made it to the end.\n\nRemember 1 song for each node, the whole album. Try and keep your nodes to around 500 words for ease of use.\n\nI'll be posting one of these bad boys eventually (I'm 2 nodes in) but I figured it couldn't hurt to share the concept. Party hard.\n\n[[Bad option]]
