Shar's Guardian is a great stone statue in the form of a half-man, half-woman to represent the ambiguousness of Shar. The Cosmic Brush was placed inside of its chest and hidden away inside of the Creation Tree to keep the brush away from those who would abuse it.\n\nIf a God other than Shar were to appear in front of the Guardian, it will move to another hidden location. He paints your right side to match his left. \n\nWhen he is complete, he sets the brush down and takes your hand in his. For a brief moment it feels like your right side is on fire. Kaz is a beguiling, silver-tongued God who is mostly too busy with Demons to worry about human kind, unless, of course, they meddle too heavily in the lives of his brethren. He rules over the four Demon kinds: Beasts, Serpents, Dragons, and the Avian. He has the ability to shape shift into any of these creatures, though his true form has not been seen by anyone who still lives to tell of it.\n\nThere are all kinds of Demons, just like there are all kinds of people. Some are good, some are not, and certain more powerful Demons can appear as humans. Half-Demons are often a result of a love between Demons and Humans. Kaz is particularly cruel to those who believe Half-Demons are an abomination and treat them as such.\n\nKaz is often seen among his brethren in the Forest of Time. Trust you don't get lost trying to find him there. You may end up in a different era. The God he spends the most time with is Zepher. The world was filled with such filth and despair when Silus was running things, that Zepher was born to try and contain it,” Kaz explains as he enters the room.\n\n“Quite right. I cannot change what I am right now. I need the brush to do so. Get this for me, Champion, and you will save us all,” Zepher declares.\n\n“I have spoken with Brae on your behalf, Champion. Akia was the first Legendary Warrior to ascend into Godhood. She spent her early years as Champion to Silus and The Black Court until he challenged her to a duel, which he lost. It sent him into such a fit of rage, he tried to eat her soul, but it was too strong for him. He ripped the part of her soul that he could and swallowed it. Shortly after, he forced himself upon her. She bore him a son: Jaden, The Soul Purifier.\n\nWhen Akia was a Legendary Warrior, the world had not fully formed and the planet itself was not stable. In effort to settle the planet, she sacrificed herself to its core. It was a plan that would have been perfect if she had the entireity of her soul. It is only after Jaden ripped his mother's soul from his father's gullet and returned it to the planet's core that the world became truly stable. When her soul merged with that of the planet, she became Mother Nature.\n\nAs a Goddess, Akia has mastery over the four elements and can tame any beast on four legs. Not only is she the mother of Jaden, but she is also the mother of Kaz, The Demon King. Akia is known for being capricious and changing her mind like the winds. He is often blamed for the illnesses of man and beasts alike, but it was in fact the filth and disease of man that spurned this strange God. Genuine in both kindness and hatred, Zepher is a deity not to be trifled with. Rainer was given the name Wolf because of his ferocity as a Legendary Warrior. He is a pureblood member of The Black Court, meaning Silus himself handcrafted his family. Rainer has a deep-seated hatred for Demons, especially half-breeds. He considers them an abomination, a disgrace to the hard work his King put into creating humans.\n\nDespite his hatred for Demons, Rainer did admit that their superior sight, which could see lies, was a very useful tool. He believed it was so useful that he found the most powerful Demon in the Black Court, killed him, and stole his eye. Silus reanimated the eye and set it in Rainer's face.\n\nNot long after, Kaz cursed Rainer and turned him into a Demon wolf so he could experience life as a Demon and see how they are treated.\n\n[[Back to Compendium|Compendium]]

Silus is a God born out of hate and anger and it is those things he is meant to represent. He was abandoned as soon as he was born. His parents, two of The Original Five, left him at the foot of a volcano in a sea of shining, sharp obsidian rocks. He built his kingdom, called The Black Court, with his own two hands.\n\nHe was originally known as The Soul Eater. It was his job to consume and torture the souls of damned, evil men with the Hell inside of his body. During his years as The Soul Eater, Silus was plagued by madness brought on by the evil souls that dwelled within him. \n\nSilus was the first to discover Zepher, The Plague King, while he was suffering from madness. He manipulated the newly formed, naïve God into giving Myriette, The Resurrecter, an illness that would weaken her power. As soon as she was weakened, he swallowed her soul and became Lord of the Dead.\n\nHis closest known associate is his son Jaden, The Soul Purifier and Demon Lord of Beasts. When the souls of evil men have finished their sentence in hell, they are sent to Jaden to be purified. Those that survive the process are sent back to Corello to be re-crafted. Akia, Mother Nature, is also a known associate, though the nature of their relationship is not quite defined.\n\n[[Back to Pages|Compendium Pages 1]]

During the creation of the world, The Original Five painted the moon. The moon blocked out the light from the sun and created darkness. Brae was born out of that darkness.\n\nWhen the sun shined on the world the following day, the light shined so brightly no one could see. Luce stepped out of the light and into the world with more Grace than the wind.\n\nThe two are the trickster Gods of this pantheon. They use their mastery over light and dark to manipulate what people see and how they see it. Those brave enough to venture to their Islands often return home mad or not at all.\n\nTheir closest known associate is Atlina, Keeper of Time. Brae is more fond of Kaz, the Demon King, than his brother Luce. Luce is rather disgusted by the strange creatures Kaz lovingly calls his children and will often destroy the Demons that enter his territory during the light of day. Brae grants Demons and those who protect them free passage at night. They are also fond of Akia for allowing them to play tricks on unsuspecting fools who get lost in her forest.\n\n[[Back to Compendium|Compendium]]

With the creation of Day and Night, came Man's most uncontrollable enemy: time. When Luce appeared to the world, his shining brilliance illuminated tiny, little Atlina. For her first few thousand years of life, Atlina appeared as a young girl, speaking in riddles few understood. Because no one could understand her, most of the Gods left her alone. \n\nAtlina mostly wandered through her Forest of Time speaking in riddles to herself, until Akia befriended her while looking for a place to hide her young son Jaden, who looked to be about as old as Atlina. Akia and Jaden were the first to unravel her time-coded riddles.\n\nAfter Akia and Jaden left the Forest of Time, Atlina changed her appearance so she would appear to be the same age as Jaden the next time they were to meet. Upon their next meeting, Jaden saved Atlina from an attack by one of Silus's men. Though this was when the two fell in love, nothing would be done about it until Jaden fulfilled his destiny and ascended to full Godhood.\n\nHer closest known associate is her husband Jaden, the Soul- Purifier. Akia is the first Legendary Warrior to ascend into Godhood. She spent her early years as Champion to Silus and The Black Court until he challenged her to a duel, in which he lost. After Jaden rips his mother's soul from his father's gullet and returns it to her, Akia jumps into a volcano and becomes one with the planet. Her selfless sacrifice is what ascended her into Godhood.\n\nAs a Goddess, Akia has mastery over the four elements and can tame any beast on four legs. Not only is she the mother of Jaden, but she is also the mother of Kaz, The Demon King. Akia is known for being capricious and changing her mind like the winds. Your body is screaming in agony but you can't make a sound.\n\n“Did you think I wouldn't find out about your treachery? The children saw you speaking with Silus and they told Kaz. You stupid fool. I could have given you everything. Instead you'll have to suffer for putting that brush in his hands. Perhaps another Champion can clean up your mess.”\n\nInstead of killing you, Zepher puts you in a perpetual coma, always sick, but never dying. For a moment it looks as if the wolf is going to attack you. His teeth are bared and gnashing, but before he can do anything, he starts to retch and out of his mouth comes a river of black bile.\n\nThe wolf collapses to the ground, unable to move, unable to attack. He takes on the countenence of the Huntresses from before. He is weak and cannot fight you or anyone else. Surely, if you were to leave him right now, the illness would kill him before his wounds healed.\n\n[[Kill the poor beast. The Guardian was created solely to protect the Cosmic Brush and can only be defeated by a strong soul who has no direct purpose for the brush.\n\n[[Back to Pages|Compendium Pages 6]]
“You suppose? You're supposed to be willing to throw your life away for the God you serve. Of course, my Champion wouldn't have to. I'm the God of Death. I could resurrect you any time I'd like. If you were my Champion of course, but you suppose you're happy working for a God who can only leave his house once a year, a God whose never had a Champion before and has no idea how to make sure you ascend to Godhood."\n\nSilus circles you and speaks closely to your ear, "I do, though. I groomed a Warrior to become a God while I was mad. Imagine what I can do for you while I'm sane.”\n\n[[I'm listening.|Listen to Silus]]
They are also fond of Akia for allowing them to play tricks on unsuspecting fools who get lost in her forest.\n\n[[Back to Pages|Compendium Pages 7]]
You go to the crossroads and sit in the middle, directly between The Plague Kingdom and The Black Court.\n\nYou begin to think about the things you've done as Zepher's Champion. You've eradicated a disease and aided in creating a potential cure should the disease return. You've saved children, not entirely human but ultimately harmless children, from being eaten alive. Sure, you might not have gotten to kill as many things as you thought you would, but ultimately everything you're doing is for the greater good.\n\nWhat does Silus want with the brush anyway? All Zepher wants is to be able to communicate with his people, personally, and that's why he needs the Cosmic Brush. You'll be helping him achieve a goal he hasn't been able to accomplish in centuries.\n\nBut what about your goals? You wanted to be the ultimate Legendary Warrior. You wanted people to know your name, revere it, maybe even fear it a little. You wanted power and glory, but all you've been doing is running errands. The people in the Plague Kingdom are happy and Zepher seems to be able to communicate with them just fine as it is. \n\nMaybe working for Silus is better for you. True, he's done some awful things in the past, but who hasn't? He said Akia personally wiped out an entire race and the people seem to appreciate her. He made her a Goddess and not a flimsy, lesser Goddess either. She's Mother Nature. Imagine what he can do for you.\n\nYou stand up. You know where you're going.\n\n[[To The Black Court.|Black Court CT 2]]\n[[To The Plague Kingdom.|PlagueKingdom CT 2]]\n

As soon as she was weakened, he absorbed her soul and became Lord of the Dead.\n\nHis closest known associate is his son Jaden, The Soul Purifier and Demon Lord of Beasts. When the souls of evil men have finished their sentence in hell, they are sent to Jaden to be purified. Those that survive the process are sent back to Corello to be re-crafted. Akia, Mother Nature, is also a known associate, though the nature of their relationship is not quite defined.\n\n[[Back to Compendium|Compendium]]

His demeanor doesn't change as you approach his throne.\n\n“You say you've brought it?” he asks before polishing off his glass.\n\nYou reveal the Cosmic Brush and Silus gleefully hops out of his seat. Corello makes the souls of all men. He does not know the Fates of these souls or whether they will belong to good or evil men. He simply creates what gives the body life. It is the duty of Man to decide what he does with that life. \n\nWhen Corello makes an exceptionally strong soul, he marks it with a symbol. This is known as The Mark of the Gods. Any person born with that mark is known as a Legendary Warrior and is meant to become the Champion of a reigning deity. \n\nIt is possible for some Legendary Warriors to ascend to Godhood, though it is no easy task. The souls of those Warriors are the strongest Corello has ever crafted. Jaden began his life as the bastard son of Akia and spent most of his Legendary Warrior years in a great drunken stupor, cursing mortals and immortals alike for the death of his mother. Though Akia sacrificed herself for the people, not all of them were entirely grateful. Jaden's actions tarnished the name of his mother more than her own supposed betrayal of Silus.\n\nJaden is considered the second Legendary Warrior to ascend to Godhood. This, of course, is a technicality. To protect her son from his father, Akia kept who his father was a secret from the world. His superior strength, speed, and skill led people to believe that he was a Legendary Warrior like his mother.\n\nThere is a symbol on his face, an ancient rune for Death. Silus cursed him with it after discovering who he was, so all would know who his father was. That mark made the people hate Jaden more. For a long time, he hated them in return until Kaz and Atlina, the Goddess of Time, turned him around. He then used his Soul-Purifying powers to save the Gods from corruption, in turn saving the world from ultimate destruction.\n\nJaden spends most of his time away from people, though not necessarily from Gods. His closest known associate is his wife Atlina, the Keeper of Time. He splits his time equally between his parents Akia and Silus. Jaden also socializes with Kaz, the Demon King and Almalus, the ancient God of Wine.\n\n[[Back to Pages|Compendium Pages 2]]

Silus reanimated the eye and set it in Rainer's face.\n\nNot long after, Kaz cursed Rainer and turned him into a Demon wolf so he could experience life as a Demon and see how they are treated.\n\n[[Back to Pages|Compendium Pages 5]]

Anjem, The Scholar - The first God. The Great Creator, the Divine being without whom there would be nothing, handcrafted him. It is because of Anjem that any other God exists. In effort to keep things balanced, Anjem created the opposite of himself.\n\nAnsho, The Warrior - The second God. He leapt out of Anjem's chest when Anjem decided he needed the opposite of himself. Ansho, while not stupid, is hardly a thinker. He is a God of action, but when necessary he can be quite cunning and strategic. He believes in Strength and Honor and is the first to create weapons. He is excellent and proficient in every style of fighting with or without weapons.\n\nShar, The Just and Neutral - Anjem and Ansho were so different and fought for so long. In the middle of an argument, Anjem got a migraine. With great pain, Shar sprang from his mind. Shar is an ambiguous being, constantly changing sex and moving like mercury. They are so powerful that an impure soul would be blasted into nothingness.\n\nRache, The Artist -Once the First Three began creating beings, they noticed there was something missing from the creatures and it was creativity. You're not quite sure what you see, so you stand ready to protect your king. Soon, a battle cry sounds and half-dead and human Rainer launches at you from the trees wielding two blades. Because you're prepared for him, you are able to catch him and throw him out of the way of your king.\n\nYou ready your <<print $weapon>>.\n\n[[Attack|PlagueKingdom Battle 1a]]\n[[Wait|PlagueKingdom Battle 1b][set $link to 1]]

You fair much better this time during instant travel and make it to the Islands on your feet. You thought finding The Creation Tree would be difficult, but Zepher dropped you right in front of it. Even though you had never seen the Creation Tree before, you are positive this is it.\n\nThe tree is massive and in it's branches blooms a beautiful flower with light pink petals surrounding an almost purple center. It's branches are long and twisted, extending out far further than you can see in the moonlight.\n\nYou don't get the same feeling you did at the Great Tree. Nothing paralyzed you or made you ill. In fact, the air around you is quite tranquil and puts you at ease. You wistfully remember the confortable bed back in the Plague Kingdom.\n\n“Hello, Champion. Tell me what it is that you seek.”\n\nThe voice comes from the tree, though the tree does not have a face.\n\n[[I seek the Cosmic Brush.|Creation Tree Opens]]\n\n<<if $Compendium6 is true>>\s\n<<elseif>>\nYou've unlocked new entries in your Compendium!\n<<set $Compendium6 to true>>\s\n<<remember $Compendium6>>\s\n<<endif>>\s\n\n[[Click here to read your new pages!|Compendium Pages 6]]

You walk into the light and are surprised to find yourself in a darkened cave on the other side. The light in the room comes from torches and pits of fire surrounding the arena-like ground on which you walk.\n\nWay in the back of the room, pushed into the center of the wall is a giant statue, vertically half-man, half-woman. It stands with its hands to the sides and bandaged eyes.\n\n[[Shoot it with an arrow|Initial Shot]]\n[[Walk up to it|View the Guardian]]
Akia laughs. “I thank you in spite of your name, Hero. Perhaps, in time, you will come to give the name good meaning, but until then, as a show of good faith, I give you this.”\n\nShe snaps her fingers and a bow and quiver appear in the air.\n\n“Neither the string or this bow shall ever break. Your quiver will never run out of arrows. Use these things well and be on your way. Your King is waiting for you to bring him the illness you've captured so he can create an antidote. You decide to keep going, enjoying the ambiance of the forest. "Is there a particular reason why the Lord of Death would call you a traitor, Champion?"\n\nRealizing he already knew, you admitted to being approached by Silus to retrieve the brush for him and become his Champion.\n\n"I do not wish to know your reasons for returning to the Plague Kingdom. They are your own and none of my business, but I do want to thank you for returning. You have done a great service to this kingdom and in doing so, you have earned not only my favor, but my trust. Now, I must ask you to trust me. Do you trust me, Champion?"\n\n[[Yes, my king.|Elixr]]
“You know, my specialty is killing things. It always has been and every single one of my Champions have had more kills in one week than others have had in a lifetime. Akia herself slaughtered thousands and even eliminated a race or two while under my wing. There are quite a lot more people in the world now. Just imagine the damage you could cause, the havoc you would wreak! Your legend would precede you wherever you went. No one, not even Akia, would curse your name. I could make all of these things happen for you, but you must do something for me first.”\n\n[[I'm listening.|Listen to Silus]]\n
To protect her son from his father, Akia kept his lineage a secret. His superior strength, speed, and skill led people to believe that he was a Legendary Warrior like his mother.\n\nThere is a symbol on his face, an ancient rune for Death. Silus cursed him with it after discovering who he was, so all would know Jaden was his son. Jaden also socializes with Kaz, the Demon King and Almalus, the ancient God of Wine.\n\n[[Back to Compendium|Compendium]]

"Ah, yes. The Plague Lands are home to many that have been rejected by the rest of the world. Many of those that live here are half-demon, half human. This place serves as their refuge. Outside of the Plague Lands, people are quite distraught over the mixing of the species, especially in The Black Court. The people here are very strong, but they're hurting and they need our help."\n\n[[I see.|Meet The People]]
Rainer was given the name Wolf because of his ferocity as a Legendary Warrior. Silus reanimated the eye and set it in Rainer's face.\n\nNot long after, Kaz cursed Rainer and turned him into a Demon wolf so he could experience life as a Demon and see how they are treated.\n\n[[Back to Pages|Compendium Pages 5-2]]

You walk down the path to the Plague Kingdom. Familiar smells waft into your nose. You find yourself surprised to be so relieved to be back to this place. It's almost like you missed it here, like it was your home.\n\nYou continue on your way through town. People wave and say, 'hello', calling you by name. You see the reptilian children you saved playing in the street and they rush over to you, running around and between your legs, nearly toppling you over. \n\nA reptilian woman runs over, quickly scolding the children in their native tongue before turning to you.\n\n“Thank you, Champion, for saving my sister's children. Truly, we will never forget this!”\n\nShe kisses your hand and gets the children out of your way so you can continue on.\n\n[[To the castle.|PlagueKingdom Battle Intro]]
You walk out from under the canopy of bent trees and into a forest clearing filled with small houses and tribal looking residents.\n\nA woman carrying a basket filled with vegetables walks by. You stop her.\n\n"Excuse me. Do you know someone named Fara the Huntress?"\n\nThe woman looks at you for a moment, but points to her right.\n\n"Fara, that way."\n\nYou bow your head and put your hands together in thanks.\n\n[["Thank you."|Meet Fara]]
"I thought so! Strength and power exudes from you! I wish I was as strong as you. Me, I am nothing but a simple salesman, traveling across the world. If I did have your strength, though, I know what I'd do with it."\n\n"What?"\n\nThe salesman looks around and leans in closer to you.\n\n"See, I'm from The Black Court, and my king, Silus, he kind of lost his Warrior. He's got one, but he's been missing for a long time. A god is only allowed to have one Champion, so if I had your power, I'd find Silus's old one and kill him. Then I could be Silus's Champion and help him reap the souls of dead men!"\n\n[[Interesting. I'll see you around.|TS 3b]]
Kaz is particularly cruel to those who believe Half-Demons are an abomination.\n\nKaz is often seen among his brethren in the Forest of Time. Trust you don't get lost trying to find him there. You may end up in a different time. The God he spends the most time with is Zepher. It is Kaz's personal Demons who take care of the Plague King and his palace.\n\n[[Back to Pages|Compendium Pages 1]]
