[[So here is the challenge. You must go through the story while listening to this youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7KjLH_1ivk&feature=youtu.be. Don't worry about syncing it. Just have the game ready to play, then play the music and leave the music on.]]
[[Throughout the youtube mix there is the soft chime of a bell heard. When you hear this sound, regardless of how much you have read, you must make an immediate discussion. There is about a 20 second pace to each bell, but it not exact.]]
[[Re cap= Select the choice that best applies to you, while listening to the youtube mix. It's best if you don't proceed to the next slide until you hear the bell ring.]]
[[There is about 7 seconds at the beginning of the song to give you some time to set up, plus two examples of what the bell cue is suppose to sound like before the game starts. Also turn up the music volume to a level of discomfort. It's not meant to be background noise.]]

[[See list-> list of Myths]]
[[The article The Development of Romantic Relationships in Adolescence states that:
“In adult romantic relationships, martial and long term partners are key figures in the functioning of attachment, caregiving, sexual, and affiliative systems."]]
[[However, in general media heavily focuses it's audiences on the singular sexual aspect only. This educates growing adolescences to see relationships with a fractional mind set. They don't see the necessary caregiving, attachment, and affiliative components to making a successful and satisfactory long-term relationship. Is there any doubt how illusions from the media contribute to such high divorce rates (40 to 50 percent) in the U.S.]]
[[And the LDS community is not exempt. The 1999 reports recorded the divorce rate inside the LDS community as about 25 percent, 6 percent of that being approved divorces from temple sealings.]][[List of Relationship Myths in Media]]
[[1. Opposites attract. Chauntelle Tibbals, a public sociologist who specializes in gender, sexualities and popular culture, explained that sociologists refer to social class as "the great divider" in relationships, even more so than gender or race. Yet in movies like "Pretty Woman," "Maid in Manhattan" and even "Titanic," the characters' disparities in affluence and lifestyle are no match for their unfaltering attraction. While people from different walks of life can certainly fall in love, the more dissimilar the day-to-day rituals and preferences of two people, the less likely they are to last, Tibbals said. Ultimately, people with vastly different world views or styles aren't likely to be compatible.]]
[[2. Fighting means you have passion. Some films use screaming matches to depict the passion between characters. One second two people are yelling at the top of their lungs, pointing fingers in each other's faces. The next second they're wrapped in each other's arms. In real life, explosive fights rarely end with a passionate love scene. Instead, doors are slammed. People go on long walks to cool off. Fighting can make a couple question whether they're a good match, but never fighting can have the same effect.]]
[[3. You can change someone if you try hard enough. Remember "Beauty and the Beast," when the bookish and headstrong Belle attempts to soften the Beast's demeanor through unconditional caring? In real life, she probably would've resigned in frustration — or have been mauled. "(This idea) puts a lot of pressure on the fixer," said Galician. It can also open that person up to relationship abuse, she added.]]
[[4. Love can conquer all. Rom-coms often focus on the relationship between the lovers, with cursory attention to everything else. The premise, of course, is that their love will take care of anything life throws at them, because they have each other.Unfortunately, we must accept that sometimes love is powerless to external forces. Love cannot cure illness, or prevent people from dying.]]
[[5. Love at first sight. There is such thing as love at first sight. “The myth holds that each person has a true love, and at least one member of the dyad knows when it has ben found. Love at first sight is about instant attraction.”]]
[[6. The relationship is most important- “The implication is two fold: life is not worth living without (that) love, and romantic relationships should take precedence over all other relationships.”Think of Ariel in the Little Mermaid.]]
[[7. Mind reading. “Revealing intimate details signals that a couple is moving into a deeper level in the relationship. The myth that love requires mind reading leads to the assumption that partners should not have to explain their relational expectations or assumptions because your true love can guess what you are thinking.”]]
[[8. “Implications of unchanging love suggest that love is easy. If love happens instantly and the bond is permanent, then typical issues that relationships face in development and maintenance such as boundaries and commitment are irrelevant because love conquers all.”]]
[[See article sources->sources option]]
[[Hopefully, in raising awareness about these inaccurate depictions in relationships, people will look less for fantasy and learn to appreciate the beauty already present in their life.]]
[[Notice these illusions in your life and the media you watch and be aware of them. As far as media goes, everything we take in affects our behaviors, moods, and attitudes. See for yourself, try the game again, but start listening to another piece of music. And pay attention to how the music affects your decisions, and thus your approach to this meeting.]]
