The Janissaries are your bodyguards. They have been threatening you for a while, which is preventing you from going on your conquest. Despite this you will still go through with your plan, but how will you deal with them?
[[Execution->Execution]]
[[Force Them to Help->Force Them to Help]]
You had the Janissaries executed immediately because you will not let anything stop you from completing your mission. This was a wise choice because now it is certain they will no longer stand in the way.
[[Announcing Plan->Announcing Your Plan to Everyone]]
Conquering a city is no easy task, so you decide you need all the help you can get. You are now faced with another decision: how to
convince the Janissaries to work for you. They oppose this but prefer it to dying.
[[Coercion->Use Coercion to Force Them to Work with You]]
[[Persuasion->Use Persuasion to Force Them to Work for You]]
You have chosen to use coercion to convince the Janissaries to work for you. However, now you have to decide how to coerce them. You want them scared, but you would not want to risk them rebelling.
[[Threaten to Use Torture-> You Threaten To Use Torture to Get Them to Work For You]]
[[Threaten to Expose Them-> You Threaten To Expose Them to Get Them to Work For You]]
You have decided to use persuasion to convince your household troops to support you. Now you are faced with another decision: what will be used to bribe them. Choose wisely, the happier they are the better they will work.
[[Bribe with Money->You Try to Bribe Them with Money]]
[[Bribe with Land->You Try to Bribe Them with Land]]
You may have been tempted to choose this option out of anger, after all, who would dare to disrespect the great sultan? Be careful not to make impulsive decisions, it may result in some dire consequences.
[[End-> End]]
You most likely figured if the treacherous Janissaries have been exposed, they will gain a horrible reputation and will live the rest of their lives in isolation. Careful not to make decisions in haste, as disaster may follow.
[[Ending-> Ending]]
Choosing to bribe them using gold seems smart because that is what everyone wants, is it not? You must remember, there is still a chance of them turning against you. Let us hope this will keep them happy.
[[Conclusion->Conclusion]]
You are confident more land will keep the Janissaries happy because they will be even more prosperous now. You still want to be very careful because their kind words may be being used to trick you.
[[Finale->Finale]]
This time, the Janissaries were very bold and decided to kill you on the spot. They took a yataghan and stabbed you repeatedly. They downright stated they refused to conform to your rules.
When you bribed the Janissaries with gold, they accepted and took it. However, you were not aware that they were planning your untimely demise all along. As soon as they took the gold, they took out their swords and stabbed you to death.
The Janissaries acted all nice at first, but that is all it was, an act. They pretended to agree with you when they were secretly planning your demise. One day one of them offered you a drink, and it was poisoned. You died immediately.
It is now time for you to annouce your plan to everyone. There is now another issue: the Grand Vizier Çandarlı does not approve. Of course, there is nothing you will allow to slow you down. You have the choice between beheading him or exiling him to the Balkan region.
[[Execute->Execute the Grand Vizier]]
[[Exile->Exile the Grand Vizier to the Balkan Region]]
You have decided to execute the treacherous grand vizier for going against you. This is a smart move because there is no risk of him seeking revenge later. Now it is time for you to decide how to go through with the conquest.
[[Siege ->Besiege Costantinople to Gain Control]]
[[Send Armies->Send Armies to Gain Control of Constantinople]]
By choosing to exile the Grand Vizier to the Balkan region, you have risked him returning for vengeance. He may come back and attempt to have you assassinated, which he is said to have planned.
[[The End->The End]]
You have decided to exile the Janissaries who betrayed you to the far east. They came back when you would have least expected it, about a year later. They disguised themselves as common people, offered you poisoned food, and you died that night.
You have decided to besiege Constantinople, which was the wiser thing to do. You sent the army to start massing on the plain of Adrianople. Troops came in from every region of the empire, amounting to nearly 150,000 people. Now that you have control over the city, you must decide how you will keep the control.
[[Invite Citizens Back->Invite the Previous Citizens to Come Back]]
[[Don't Invite Them Back->Don't Invite The Previous Citizens Back]]
You wanted to complete the conquest as soon as possible so you decided to start a war. Keep in mind though, sometimes it is better to take care of those things gradually and not rush.
[[The Ending->The Ending]]
As you march to complete your conquest, you look over and find that the opposing army is waiting for you. They are in a phalanx formation which is eight men deep. You were not prepared for this, and your opponents defeated you. You reached for the Yataghan that lay on your side, but it is too late. You are knocked off your horse after being hit with an arrow from a composite bow from the Byzantine army.
You figured the citizens who fled during the conquest may be helpful for improving the city, so you invite them back. why not make this transition easier for both the citizens and I you thought to yourself
[[The Conclusion->The Conclusion]]
Why invite the citizens to come back if there is a possibility of them turning on me? is what you are thinking. There is something else you should have considered, and that is how inviting them back can benefit you. They could have helped you renovate Constantinople and strengthen the army, which are your priorities.
[[The Finale->The Finale]]
When it is too late you realize it would have been better to just have the citizens who fled return. Because there is not a large population, there are less taxes and therefore the economy suffered. You could not keep Constantinople under your control.
It was the smarter decision to invite those who fled to come back. Both you and them benefited from this choice. The economy improved and so did their homeland and military.
The Janissaries had pretended to go along with what you told them so you would let your guard down. It worked, and they murdered you in your sleep.
