forgot

I am grabing my keys to head out to my friend Alex's house for his birthday. [[grab keys]]

once I have my keys, I make sure all the doors to my house are locked, and make sure the windows are locked. I also leave food for my dog, can't forget Reign (that's his name) [[leave house]]

I walk to my car and get in. Alex's house is about an hour away and around 30 minutes in, I realize that I forgot his present. That's the most important part. In my head, I debate on going back to my house to get my present for him or going to the store that is 5 minutes away to just buy a new present. [[go back to my house]] [[go to the store]]

I decide not to waste money and drive back to my house the entire 30 minute drive, I scold myself. how could I have forgotten? the 30 minute drive passes and I then see my house and relief washes over me. [[get out of car]]

I don't wanna be super late to the party so I just decide to buy the same exact present and realize that I can keep the one I have at my house. It's a win win situation for all of us. [[buy present]]

I get out of the car and walk to my house. I unlock the door and Reign instantly comes to me. I grab the present and double check all the windows and doors and notice that the back door is open. [[investigate house]] [[leave with Reign]]

I wonder what happened and why the back door is open. As I am walking to the back door, I hear a bang upstairs and Reign starts barking. I instantly run up the stairs and check my room, the bathroom, and the guest room, yet no one is there. [[walk downstairs]]

I grab Reign, the present and some of my most valuable things and run to my car. I drive the whole hour in complete silence without the radio on and think about how that back door opened. I finally arrive to Alex's house. I asked if I can bring Reign and he didn't have a problem. [[knock on alex's door]]

I walk downstairs and see that Reign is following me. I walk to the kitchen to grab my phone and check the cameras that I have. I keep clicking on different places but I am seeing no evidence of anyone being here. I click on the kitchen and look at the past hours but still see nothing. I am confused and paranoid. I call Alex and tell him that I can't make it to his party and then I call my brother, Jack. I tell him my situation and also tell him to come over quickly. He suggests that I diall 911, so I do. [[look at cameras again]]

Alex lets me in and the party went great. Hours fly by and I ask Alex if I can spend the night because I don't want to go home. I am just a bit paranoid. Alex doesn't mind me sleeping over so I make myself at home on the couch and instantly fall asleep. I don't know how much time has passed but I wake up and notice the news channel is on. [[listen in]]

I listen closely and my heart stops. Apparently there was a house fire after someone broke into a house. I wait for the news reporters to say the address. It's mine. My house was on fire after someone broke into my house. That's why the back door was open. Alex comes out of his room to ask why I am crying. I didn't even realize I was crying. I hug Reign and cry harder as I realize the possibilities of what could've happened. I am glad I am okay. I am glad I forgot. [[thanks for playing]]

I buy the present, exit the store, and get in my car. I drive to Alex's house in a great mood and I'm even dancing to the music on the radio which I never do. I show up to the party and I am not even late. Hours go by and I really want to go home and sleep. I tell Alex goodbye and leave his house. Time to start the hour long drive again. [[drive home]]

I drive home thinking about sleep. The hour long drive took way too long and I am just so eager to get in my bed, be cozy and sleep. I open the door to my house and notice that the entire kitchen is trashed and my TV in the living room is gone. That TV wasn't even that good. I don't hear Reign and now I am panicking. I quickly dial 911 and call my mom after. [[call mom]]

After calling my mom I hear Reign and he's barking. Really loud. I follow his voice and notice that he's in my bedroom but no one is there so I don't know what he is barking at. Reign runs past me and I am confused so I follow him. I see a guy. He's coming towards me. I think he has a rag but I can't tell and my vision is getting a little blurry as he covers my nose and mouth with the rag. I fall to the floor and blackout. [[wake up]]

I wake up to the smell of smoke. I can't get up, I am weak. It's hard to breathe. I get up slowly and start coughing as I do so. I notice fire in the bathroom but nothing clicks in my brain so I keep walking slowly. I hear sirens but my head hurts and I really don't want to but I fall back on the floor. I can't move. It hurts. I try to get up and then I hear firemen yelling somethig inaudible. I scream but I am not sure if anything comes out. "Hey! Hey!" the fireman says some more things to me but my head hurts too much to comprehend anything. Next thing I know, I am outside of the house on a stretcher. "D-dog, dog, R-" I end up coughing even though I am trying to ask where my dog is. I see my mom and close my eyes. "Reign," I tell her. "He's alive, I thought you weren't." She starts crying and I sigh in relief that Reign isn't dead. My throat really hurts. I close my eyes again because that's what feels the best. [[sleep]]

I open my eys to see I am in the hospital. My mom rushes to my side and I am confused. "How long has it been?" I ask, it feels really weird to talk. "Three days." My mom says and leaves the room. She comes back with Reign in her arms and he comes to me so I hold him tight in my arms. Hours later I find out that Reign and I were the only ones to survive my house. The rest of my stuff is completely damaged and I also find out that the intruder is in prison which makes me happy. I am glad I am okay. I am glad I forgot because everything happens for a reason. [[thanks for playing]]

I check the cameras again but nothing has changed. I don't hear any other noises in the rooms upstairs and I really to go upstairs but I decide to stay downstairs where I know nobody is. I look at the kitchen and go to the present time to see myself. The camera is a little blurry but I think that I see another figure, a person. I look up from my phone to see a man running towards me. He covers my mouth and nose with a rag and I try to move and kick, but he is holding me and then pushes me so I fall to the ground. I hit my head, hard. The last thing I hear is Reign barking and then everything turns black as I close my eyes. [[wake]]

I wake up in a hospital bed. I am extremely confused right now. I see my mom in a chair and her face lights up as she sees me. "you're awake!" she starts crying and I am still really confused. "Why am I here? What happened?" I start coughing as I notice that it hurts to talk. "Your house caught on fire after someone broke in," memories start flowing through my head and everything is coming back to me. I remember opening my eyes and not being able to see anything because of a lot of smoke. I remember Reign running somewhere. Reign. REIGN. "Reign. M-my dog, where's my dog?" A few seconds later, my brother comes in with Reign and relief washes over me. Reign comes running to me and I hug him hard and cry. I am glad I am okay. I am glad I forgot. [[thanks for playing]]
