Welcome to A New Dawn, a story that is part of the New World Sports setting. This story is choice-driven, meaning that the decisions you make will affect its final outcomes. You play the role of Bryony Ashton, the first woman to coach an English Premier League team to victory, and also, one of the youngest ever to coach an EPL team. You were born in Bristol, England, 32 years before this story. You were one of the most respected Football(Soccer) Managers in European history, until one day, when everything changed.
This story is a work in progress. Currently, this is a prototype of the final story.
You are the coach of the college soccer team in this story.

Dawn breaks, and your phone alarm blares. You rise to face another day. You stop the alarm, and take a glance at your phone. You see that there are no messages, but you had no reason to expect any in the first place. Not since that day.
You spare a look at your surroundings. Seated on the desk next to your bed is a bottle of scotch. There was a time when you would have frowned at the idea of drinking at this time of day, but that was before that day. So much of your life has changed since then. Once an EPL coach, now in a different country, coaching a team of students from a University.
On the other hand, maybe a cup of tea would be a better option?
[[Brew a cup of tea]]
[[Drink the scotch]]

You decide that a cup of tea is more to your liking for now. You pour out 350 ml of water into your electric kettle, and wait for it to boil. In the meantime, you glance at the news on your phone. As you can see, there is still a lot of talk about the Tuvandorians, despite their being on Earth for 5 years at this point.
You see that the kettle is indicating that the water is boiling. You pour out the water into a mug, into which you place a tea bag. You let the tea steep and return to your phone. You continue browsing idly, until a headline grabs your attention- "X University planning soccer game with Trivandur".
Knowing that you coach the team for that University, you realise that you were not made aware of this, and you decide to call them at the first chance you get.
But of course, such things can wait. You return to the mug, pouring milk and sugar into it, according to your liking.
[[Drink the tea]]
Your pour yourself a glass of scotch. You drink it, contemplating on your past and who you once were.
The glass lies empty. You are tempted by the prospect of refilling it.
[[Refill the glass]]
[[Get Ready]] After drinking the tea, you feel refreshed. You decide to get ready, and head towards the bathroom.
[[Get Ready]]
After coming out of the bath, you look at your phone. You see that there is a missed call from Arthur Campbell, the Atheltic Director at the college. At least they planned to inform you at some point.
[[Call Campbell]]Campbell picks up the phone, "Hey, Good morning Bryony, have you seen the news"?
[[You reply, "I presume you are referring to the game between our team and a team made up of people from literally another planet, a game that I am somehow not aware of"?|Talk to Campbell]]
[[You reply, "I presume you are talking about the game between Trivandur and our team"?|Listen to Campbell]]
"Well, technically, it is not a soccer game, but a Bakthu game. That is what the Trivandurians call it. It is quite similar to soccer, though."
You say, "Something like this must have been in the making for months, if not years. Why was I not informed?"
Campbell responds, "It has just been planned, and we need to get their approval. The news may make it appear as if it has been so, but the only reason why it is being considered at all is because the Trivandurian Ambassadar has been lobbying for a game between our planets.
[[You say, "Why our University? What is so special about us? I would have thought that a game between a team representing Earth and a team representing Trivandur would have made sense, rather than an University game. A game of such importance should ideally involve professional footballers, not students."|Campbell's response]]

You refill the glass, and drink it. Now you are starting to feel drunk. Maybe you should get ready. On the other hand, there is still some scotch left in the bottle.
[[Refill it again]]
[[Get Ready]] You drink the glass. Your body, already weakened by years of heavy drinking since that day, gives way and you pass out.
[[Wake up]]You awaken with a splitting headache, and you see that it is almost dusk now. You have missed work today. What's more, you see that there are multiple missed calls on your phone.
You decide to call Arthur Campbell, the atheltics director, and your boss.
[[Phone Campbell]]Campbell sounds more disappointed than angry. "You were drunk, right? I gave you this job because I believed in you. Because I thought you could do better. And this is how you repay my trust? I have been giving you chance after chance, but until you get some help, I cannot keep you in this position. Especially not after today. You need help. There is no shame in looking for help".
You try to apologize, and inquire about what happened today.
"So, you have not read the news, either. The Trivandurian Ambassadar and I have worked together on a soccer game. One that would feature our team and a team from Trivandur. You see? This could have been something that could have put you back up! The first game of its kind in our history! But now, that game will happen without you. I will not fire you, however I will place you under indefinite suspension. Talk to Dr Anderson, you need help as soon as possubke."Campbell responds, "There has been little willpower on the part of our leaders to make it happen, so why not make it happen ourselves? The thing is, I know the Ambassadar personally. I was one of the people who met him during First Contact. I should tell you about that story, sometime."
