You unplugged the fridge. To save on power. You'd made yourself three cups of hot tea with two packets each of splenda but those have three calories each so even though the apartment was freezing you had to switch to tap water.\n\nOutside it was snowing. Big, big, blizzard. No chance for biking. You hadn't exercized in days.\n\nYou didn't want to eat anything because you were full of missing Ian.\n\nWhat did you do?\n\n[[drank water|three]]\n[[went for a walk|three]]\n[[went for a swim|three]]\n[[stayed in bed and read|three]]
You'd spent the whole Sunday in your bed, trying to read. But you'd reread the same page fifty times now, and it hadn't stuck yet. You weren't following the plot, anyway. Depression era, some homeless guy, freezing rain. Very sad book but you couldn't concentrate. You were tired but you'd already slept so much. You had your chin underneath the blankets because it was so cold. You'd made sure the fridge was empty so there'd be no late-night temptation. Time leaked by drip by drip, drop by drop.\n\nYou had a whole afternoon and night until class the next morning, and you needed to fill that time somehow. How did you distract yourself?\n\n[[drank water|six]]\n[[went for a walk|six]]\n[[went for a swim|six]]\n[[went for a bike ride|six]]\n[[stayed in bed and read|six]]\n[[called Dad|six]]\n[[wrote|six]]
You'd taken a taxi to the grocery store because there was too much snow on the road to bike. All you'd bought was a jar of peanut butter but it still seemed like a lot. You didn't look at the nutrition label, not even after you'd gotten home.\n\nSo now it was just you, alone in your apartment. With peanut butter.\n\nWhat did you do?\n\n[[drank water|end]]\n[[ate peanut butter|end]]
You'd fallen alseep in class earlier in the day. You were glad the bike ride from campus to your apartment was all downhill. You tucked your bike next to the fridge and then held your hand on the handle of the refrigerator door for a moment.\n\nYou didn't want to eat anything.\nYou needed to fill your stomach.\nYou had lunch with Tabitha the day before and brought the leftover fries home because you didn't want them to get thrown out.\nYou ate a hamburger with a bun and a handful of fries the day before.\nYou opened the refrigerator and threw the fries out in your own damn trash can.\n\nWhat did you do next?\n\n\n[[drank water|five]]\n[[went for a walk|five]]\n[[went for a bike ride|five]]\n[[stayed in bed and read|five]]\n[[slept|five]]\n[[went for a swim|five]]
The snow had stopped, for a little while. Another blizzard was on the way. Classes were cancelled. The gym was still open though. You ate a candy bar from the school vending machine the day before. Actually it was two but you told your father it was one because he asked if you were getting enough to eat. He can be a Jewish mother like that sometimes.\n\nYou'd eaten a fair bit while you were at home for the holidays.\n\nYour father saw you in a tank top and pajama pants and told you you looked like you'd been liberated from Dauchau. He's not always the most tactful person.\n\nThe ground still had a foot of snow on it.\n\nWhat did you do? \n\n[[drank water|two]]\n[[went for a walk|two]]\n[[went for a swim|two]]
It was snowing again. Everything was closed for winter break. There was blood when you spat after brushing your teeth first thing in the morning.\n\nWhat did you do?\n\n[[drank water|one]]\n[[went for a walk|one]]
Tabitha was at the door. You broke up with Ian. It's such a long, dumb, sad story you didn't even want to get into why. She was shocked because you were both so happy last week. So were you.\n\nYou opened the door for her.\n\nWhat did you say first?\n\n[[offered her ice cream|four]]\n[[offered her water and have a glass yourself|four]]\n[[offered to watch Seinfeld|four]]\n[[spilled your guts out to her in the doorway|four]]\n[[asked her how her day's been|four]]
You were alone in your apartment. It was late at night, and you were tossing and your stomach was killing you. You hadn't eaten that day. You were going to have some lunch but then it just sort of slipped by? So by three in the morning you had a song stuck in your head and you couldn't lay still.\n\nYou got up and took a few steps to the fridge. You lived alone, in a little studio. It was early November. Sometimes the heat went off in that apartment for no good reason. You stood in the cold refrigerator light, looking over your options.\n\nWhat did you eat?\n\n[[peanut butter|eight]]\n[[apple|eight]]\n[[leftover sesame chicken|eight]]\n[[kale|eight]]\n[[raspberry jam|eight]]\n[[diet coke|eight]]\n[[bread|eight]]\n[[lemon curd|eight]]\n[[lemonaid|eight]]
Ian was over. You always cooked him dinner on Friday nights, and cooked a lot. It was the only time during the week you really cooked. You knew if he noticed how little you ate the rest of the week he'd get worried, but--\n\nso you cooked a big meal for the two of you every Friday, and had a big helping of whatever it was. Made a real show of it, too.\n\nThat night it was chicken teriyaki. You'd let it marinade for twenty-four hours. And there were chopped sauteed vegetables, and white rice, and you had vanilla ice cream in the freezer.\n\nWhat did you do after your first helping?\n\n[[watched Seinfeld|seven]]\n[[went to the music thing|seven]]\n[[made origami|seven]]\n[[had sex|seven]]\n[[went for a walk|seven]]\n[[ate ice cream|seven]]\n[[ate another helping|seven]]\n[[cuddled|seven]]

Your stomach was killing you. There was no one to call. You knew you had to get to the bathroom and you felt so tired and awful and even though you got out of bed it was happening whether you liked it or not.\n\nWhat did you do?\n\n[[shit yourself|again]]
