Zoo day, zoo day! After waiting all summer long to finally have a free day to go to the zoo, now is your chance! <a href="https://ibb.co/fCPJdT"><img src="https://preview.ibb.co/mVUUk8/zoo_entrance.jpg" alt="zoo_entrance" border="0"></a> You've been thinking about just how excited you are to see the [[red pandas]] and to eat all of the [[cotton candy]] imaginable! So where do you visit first? [[The red pandas, of course!]] [[The penguins]]

Something is wrong. You're here. The red pandas are here. Everything should be perfect. But... it just isn't. Something feels... off. <a href="https://imgbb.com/"><img src="https://image.ibb.co/e5J0so/sad_red_panda.jpg" alt="sad_red_panda" border="0"></a> You look your red, furry friend in the [[eyes]].

That's right. They're just in there living their life, swimming along. They don't need a penguin crazed human to mess up their routine. Smart choice. Respect the animals. Keep the penguins happy. <a href="https://ibb.co/gPpbyT"><img src="https://preview.ibb.co/epULQ8/penguins_happy.jpg" alt="penguins_happy" border="0"></a> But... wouldn't they be happier swimming with [[you?|Do it anyway. Here I come, swimming boys!]] Nah. Let's just say our goodbyes and [[move along]].

And just like that, your hopes and dreams are stripped away from you. Before you can even get to the penguin's enclosure, the Super Special Penguin Police stop you in your tracks, and you're kicked out of the zoo. Now there's no penguins, no red pandas, no cotton candy, and no joy left in the world. [[Rewind and start your day over?|Untitled Passage]]

Now that we've gotten our second favourite animal out of the way, where to next?! [[RED PANDAS!|The red pandas, of course!]] [[Back to the penguins.]]

I mean, he doesn't really look sick. Just unhappy. But what could that mean? [[Meh,]] humans have bad days all of the time. He's probably just having one of those. Or... [[The zoo life is not for him.]] His environment is bringing him down, and he needs to get out.

The penguins looked happy enough, as do all of the other nearby animals. He's probably just sleepy and tired from everyone admiring him all day. It's nothing to worry about, and nothing to ruin my ZOO DAY! At least I got to see the red pandas. [[Take selfies with the red pandas, and head off to buy some cotton candy.]] Or... I guess we have to [[get him out.]]

Just imagine, bringing a red panda home to play with all of the time... You sit next to the enclosure, typing up some plans on your phone... ''[[Plan A:]]'' Pay to help the zookeepers feed the red pandas, allowing you closer access. You've heard that this is an option, and all of the money goes to the zoo to help with upkeep. It is, however, very expensive. ''[[Plan B:]]'' Cause a disturbance, allowing you temporary access into the enclosure where you can grab your new friend and get the hell out as fast as you can. ''[[Plan C:]]'' Disguise myself as a zookeeper and pretend to take him away for a check-up.

A quick Google search to the website shows you that this option is going to cost you... $300?!?!?!?! WHAT? [[Reconsider|So how do we do that?]] [[Dip into your savings acount for the cause]]

So what to we do for a disturbance? [[Yell that someone has jumped into the penguin tanks]] (Because that's such a likely scenario, who wouldn't want to jump in there?) or [[Claim that a lion is on the loose and everybody should run]]

So how do we disguise ourselves as a zookeeper? [[Find a zookeeper and follow them until they return to the main office]]

You're... you're really going to spend $300 to get close to the red pandas and hopefully steal one? [[...]]

It takes you almost an hour to find the main office where you have to sign up and pay the fees. By the time they're done giving you safety and hygiene lessons for when you're near the animals, you feel as if the day is almost done. But not until you've gotten to [[feed your new friend!]]

You're feeding a red panda. You are so close to getting to take him. But then you realize... Would he be healthy with you? Would you be able to care for him properly? Geez, it cost you $300 just to hang out with one. How are you going to support him financially, as a single red panda parent? You'd have to pick up extra shifts at work, and by then you'd be so busy that you'd never get to hang out. Maybe the panda life just isn't for you... [[But still|Take selfies with the red pandas, and head off to buy some cotton candy.]]

You look around the zoo, waiting to find someone in a uniform. You're not really sure what they look like, but you're expecting a Steve-Irwin-Type, with the matching green top and bottoms. <a href="https://ibb.co/hQATQ8"><img src="https://preview.ibb.co/mX5HJT/The_Late_Crocodile_Hunter_Steve_Irwin_during_a_TV_show_at_the_Zoo_10106754576.jpg" alt="The_Late_Crocodile_Hunter_Steve_Irwin_during_a_TV_show_at_the_Zoo_10106754576" border="0"></a> Finally, you spot someone. It may not be the Crocodile Hunter you had in mind, but they'll [[have to do]].

You follow them around for almost an hour, watching as they go inside animal enclosure after animal enclosure, trying not to seem suspisicous. You have to pretend to be overly excited about the muskrats for a brief moment when you think they're about to notice you. Finally, they head inside a non-animal-holding building, so you [[follow them in]].

Instead of sleuthing, you act exactly as if you know what you're doing. Acting like you belong seems to work out, as no one seems to bother asking if you're supposed to be there. They probably think you're a new hire. You finally make it to a room with lockers, which you assume is the changing room for employees. Nobody is around, so you [[look through the lockers]].

You finally find a uniform, but it's a size too small. Regardless, it will have to do. [[Put on the too-small uniform]]

Before you go to fulfill your plan, are you missing anything? [[Grab the empty duffel bag on the floor... you'll have to fit him in something|Grab the empty duffle bag on the floor... you'll have to fit him in something]]

You make a beeline to the red panda enclosure, trying not to make eye-contact with any of your new "co-workers". Acting like you're on a mission, as you are, you inform everybody near the enclosure that you're going to have to take away the red panda for a quick check-up, and that they should probably come back later in the evening if they want to take any more pictures. Finally, you [[hop into the enclosure]].

"QUICK! THIS MAN IS STEALING THE PANDA!!!" Oh shit. You look up and see an older lady yelling. You obviously didn't check to make sure everything was clear. Do you... [[run]] or [[spend your last moments of freedom with the red panda]]

You're right. This is wrong. He belongs here, where people can actually take care of him. Shoving him into a bag and running off is just wrong.You scratch him behind the ears and pet his coarse fur, saying goodby. [[But still,|Take selfies with the red pandas, and head off to buy some cotton candy.]]

You've never run faster in your life. People are yelling after you, but you do not stop. You know you'll never be welcome back here, so you mentally say goodbye to each animal as you pass them. Finally, you're past the gates. You're free. It was a weird day, but it was still [[the|Take selfies with the red pandas, and head off to buy some cotton candy.]]

Finally you're surrounded by actual zookeepers, all of them asking you who you are, what you're doing, and what is wrong with me. They think you're on drugs. Otherwise, why else would you try to steal an animal? They treaten you with legal action if you do not leave the zoo immediately, and you face a lifetime ban. [[No more red panda visits.]]

Nobody really reacts. Somebody looks at you and says, "Who would be stupid enough to do that?" You almost want to jump into the penguin tank just to prove them wrong... No. That's not the mission. Though now you can't just come up with another excuse to yell, as you've already cried wolf. [[Reconsider your plans|So how do we do that?]]

"LION!!!! EVERYBODY RUN!!!! THE LION ESCAPED FROM HIS CAGE!!" You just kind of keep screaming, but nobody seems to be reacting in a way that you'd expect if there were a deadly predator on the loose. "A lion!? Cool!" You hear one little boy yell. "Where?" Asks an older woman. Suddently, instead of running away, everybody is [[running towards you.]]

Everyone is hounding you with questions, asking you to take them to where the lion is. Apparently, everyone wants to see him and get a chance to pet him. Wild. Do you... [[Lead them away to "the lion"]] or [[Just run]]

You start acting like a tour guide as a small crowd has gathered to follow you. You share every fact about lions that you know, hoping that nobody corrects you, as half of these facts are probably about tigers, not lions, but whatever. You rememebr where the lion enclosure is, and lead everybody this way. Luckily, the lion is not totally obvious as to where he's hanging out in his enclosure, so you just point towards a pathway farther than his enclosure, claim that he's out and wandering around over there. As everybody looks to see the escaped cat, you turn and [[run back to the red panda]].

You find yourself running, stray zoo visiters running after you screaming about lions (and tigers? And bears? Oh my!) You aren't worried, and you find yourself laughing at the situation you've found yourself in. You may not have managed to escape with your fox looking friend, but [[still,|Take selfies with the red pandas, and head off to buy some cotton candy.]]

The area is empty. Now is your chance!! You effortlessly jump inside of the enclosure to find the bigger-than-expected friend to be a little shy and weary of you. It takes you a few minutes, but eventually he [[warms up to you]].

You take off the plaid shirt that you'd been wearing over your t-shirt and wrap it around the faux-panda, silently praying that he is friendly and gentle and that you can sneak back to your car before he starts acting up. You grab some bamboo from the ground and [[start heading to your car]].

You can't believe it... You're actually exiting the zoo without being noticed. You realize that dozens of people are yelling and complaining about an escaped lion to the zookeepers, who are trying to calm down crowds and that they have no idea where that rumour started, and that there's no escaped lion. You slip past, and [[make it to your car]].

You sit down and look in your passenger seat to see a confused looking red panda. Congradulations on completing your zoo day mission, and escaping with a cute and friendly looking red panda! While they are super cute and I'm sure everybody would love to get to hang out with them all day, red pandas are an endangered species, with less than 10,000 of them out there. While their biggest threat is not crazy zoo-goers trying to steal them, they do need help.
