Greg pulled back the shower curtain and they peered into the bathtub. Three cockroaches scattered and crawled down the drain.\n\nMandy hid behind Greg. "That is so gross! God, I hate bugs."\n\n[[Look in the mirror above the sink]]\n\n[[Turn on the sink ]]
Greg flipped to the next page where a cut out article was pasted into the album. The article title said: "MISSING GIRL, AGE 8." There was another picture of the little girl in the article.\n\nMandy pointed to the article. "See, this just proves that story was true." Mandy read the first bit of the article and noticed the little girl's name. "So her name was Holly."\n\n"Guess, you were right then after all..." He closed the album and placed it back on the shelf." Come on, let's go."\n\n[[Leave the room]]
Greg and Mandy walked up the stairs leading to the second floor of the house. As they got to the top of the stairs they noticed three rooms. There was a master bedroom, a bathroom, and a bedroom. \n\n[[Go into the master bedroom]]\n\n[[Go into the bathroom]]\n\n[[Go into the other bedroom]]
Greg and Mandy returned to the main entrance by the front door.\n\n"I'm really scared Greg, can we go now?"\n\nGreg chuckled, "No, we've got a dare to uphold, remember?" he said teasingly.\n\n"Uh, yeah right."\n\n[[Check out the living room]]
Greg walked over to the sink and looked into the cracked mirror. Greg watched Mandy squirm in the reflection of the mirror as she looked in the toilet. But suddenly a pair of red eyes appeared in the mirror, looking back at Greg.\n\nGreg stepped back from the mirror and quickly looked back, not believing what he saw.\n\n"Are you okay?"\n\nGreg nods, "Yeah, I'm fine."\n\n[[Turn on the sink ]]\n\n[[Leave the bathroom]]
Logline: Two high school students venture into a "rumored" haunted house to find out if ghosts are real, little do they know they're not alone.
Greg approached the TV and looked around for a remote. He couldn't find one so pressed the "on" button along the side of the TV. Nothing happened when he pressed it. "Wow, I'm an idiot. There's no electricity." \n\nHe backed away from the TV but noticed something move in the reflection of the screen. In the reflection a figure stood outside the window. Greg turned around quickly to see what standing at the window, but saw nothing was there. "Weird," he muttered under his breath.\n\nMandy was busy flipping through an old magazine. She looked over to Greg and saw him stare at the TV. "Something wrong?"\n\nHe shook his head. "No."\n\n[[Sit on the couch and listen]]\n\n[[Search the bookshelf]]\n\n[[Look out the window]]\n\n[[Go back to the main entrance]]
He sighed in annoyance, "Fine, let's look in the living room instead." \n\nThe two entered the living and looked around. They noticed a bookshelf along one wall, a dusty couch near a window, and a rocking chair in the corner of the room. There was also a small TV on a table. \n\nMandy picked up an old magazine lying on the floor. "I wonder why there's still so much stuff inside this house?"\n\nGreg walked around observing the room. "Whoever last lived here must've left in a hurry."\n\n[[Sit on the couch and listen]]\n\n[[Search the bookshelf]]\n\n[[Look out the window]]\n\n[[Turn on the TV]]\n\n
Two high school students, Greg and Mandy walked home from school together. As they crossed the crosswalk, Mandy glanced over at a foreclosed house on the corner of the street. \n\nShe shuddered as they passed the house. "That place gives me the creeps."\n\nGreg looked at her bemused, "Why?"\n\n"Because it's haunted," she stated simply.\n\nGreg scoffed. "Don't tell me you really believe in ghosts?"\n\n"Yeah, I do, why?"\n\n"There is no scientific evidence that ghosts are real. They don't exist," he dismissed.\n\nMandy stopped in her tracks, and crossed her arms over her chest. "If you're so sure there are no such thing as ghosts, then prove it."\n\nGreg looked back at her with a questionable look. "How?"\n\n[[next]]\n\n\n\n\n
"I'm sorry..." Greg whispered under his breath as he continued to make his way down the ladder. He ran down the stairs and ran towards the front door. He rougly wiggled the doorknob trying to get it to open, but it was jammed shut. "Shit, no, no..."\n\nHe felt something cold breathe on the back his neck. He slowly turned around and came face to face with the demonic entity in front of him. \n\nBefore he could move the entity lunged towards him killing him.\n\nGame over.\n\n[[Start]]
Greg walked over and looked out the window. All he could see was darkness outside. He looked at his watch to see what the time was. It was eight twenty-nine, as he glanced from his watch back to the window a shadowy figure walked past it. He jumped back quickly as he felt his heart skip a beat. \n\nMandy was busy looking at the books along the bookshelf when she heard him get startled by something. "What's wrong?"\n\n"U-uh nothing," he stuttered as he walked away from the window.\n\n[[Search the bookshelf]]\n\n[[Go back to the main entrance]]
Greg and Mandy approached the bookshelf and skimmed the shelves for an interesting book to pick up. There was a family album, and a diary to choose from.\n\n[[Pick up diary]]\n\n[[Pick up family photo album]]
As Greg and Mandy returned to the hall at the top of the stairs. A loud thud belowed from behind them. Greg looked up and saw that the trap door to the attic had lowered along with the ladder leading up to it.\n\n"That's not creepy at all..." Mandy said while staying close to Greg.\n\n"Let's look inside."\n\n[[Go inside the attic]]\n\n\n\n
Greg smirked, adjusting his backpack slung over his right shoulder. "Fine, I will. But I dare you to do it too. Then you'll be there, and I can really prove to you that I'm right. Deal?" He extended his right hand out for her to shake.\n\nMandy looked down at his hand and shook it reluctantly, as she sighed in defeat. "Fine..."\n\n[[Continue]]
Greg shrugged and walked away. "No, why waste my time when I know I'm right."\n\nMandy pointed and laughed at his retreating figure. "You're probably just too scared to admit that it is haunted."\n\n"No, I'm not, it's just stupid."\n\nMandy circled around Greg, flapping her arms, and made clucking noises. "Chicken, chicken, chicken!"\n\n[[Start]]
"I dare you to spend a whole night inside that house, and THEN tell me you don't believe in ghosts," she snickered.\n\n\n<<choice "Agree to the dare">>\n\n<<choice "Decline the dare">>\n
The two entered the living room and looked around. They noticed a bookshelf along one wall, a dusty couch near a window, and a rocking chair in the corner of the room. There was also a small TV on a table. \n\nMandy picked up an old magazine lying on the floor. "I wonder why there's still so much stuff inside this house?"\n\nGreg walked around the exploring the room. "Whoever last lived here must've left in a hurry."\n\n[[Sit on the couch and listen]]\n\n[[Search the bookshelf]]\n\n[[Look out the window]]\n\n[[Turn on the TV]]\n
Greg climbed the ladder entering the attic first. He pulled out his flashlight and turned it on. "I knew this thing would come in handy." He shined the light around the attic looking for any movement. \n\nThere were boxes piled all over the attic, along with some sheets draped over them.\n\nMandy climbed up behind him, still holding onto the doll. "Why do you want to go up here?"\n\n"That drawing we saw in Holly's room, it's what both of us saw. She must have seen it too," he explained.\n\n[[Walk around]]
Greg picked up the diary and flipped through a couple of pages. He stopped on a diary entry. "This is the last entry of the book, let's read it."\n\n\nDiary Entry:\n\n“It's been three months since Holly went missing. The police have called off the search and we feel absolutely helpless. I still don't understand how she went missing. All I did was go outside to do some gardening and when I came back inside she was gone. My husband and I have fought a little since she went missing. \n\nIt's hard to go day by day knowing your daughter could be out somewhere cold, hungry, and alone. I just want my daughter brought back home safely. I can't express the pain I feel in my heart right now. Richard was just offered a new job in another state and we are discussing about moving. I don't want to because I have hope that Holly may return home one day. \n\nI hope we find her soon, but the authorities assure us she's probably dead. I don't want to believe that.”\n\n-Susan White\n\nGreg closed the book and looked at Mandy. "So, I guess the story was true..."\n\n"That's so sad, I wonder what happened to her?"\n\n[[Pick up family photo album]]
Greg plopped down onto the couch causing the dust to fly off the furniture. Mandy coughed as she whafted the dust out of her face. She hesitantly sat down on the couch as the two remained in silence.\n\nGreg's eyes scanned the room as he tried to listen for any more unexplainable sounds. He felt all his hair stand up on his body, as as something stroked the back of his neck. Greg moved his body forward from the couch and glared at Mandy. "Will you quit it? You aren't going to scare me."\n\nMandy looked at him defensively. "What are you talking about?"\n\nHe rubbed the back of his neck. "You were touching my neck to freak me out."\n\n"No I wasn't!"\n\nHe looked behind him. "Then what was?"\n\nHer demeanor softend. "I told you, this place is haunted."\n\n[[Look out the window]]\n\n[[Search the bookshelf]]\n\n[[Turn on the TV]]\n\n[[Go back to the main entrance]]\n\n
They entered the darkened dining room and noticed a dining table with four chairs. There were cabinets aligned on the left wall of the room, and one of the cabinet doors moved back and forth slowly. Greg reached out to touch the cabinet door but before he could touch it a large grey rat jumped out and scurried away into a corner of the room. Mandy screamed trying to avoid letting the rat run near her. \n\nGreg laughed hysterically as Mandy looked around trying to find out where the rat ran off to. \n\n"See, it wasn't a ghost? It was just a harmless rat," he chuckled.\n\nShe huffed at him, "Harmless? Rats are so disgusting, and they can bite you!"\n\n"Chill, it's gone now anyway."\n\nMandy continued to look around the room. As she walked around she noticed something lying on the floor. It was a pink rubber ball, she bent over and picked it up. Greg noticed her staring at the ball. "What, you think that's the little missing girl's ball?"\n\nMandy glared at him. "You shouldn't joke around about stuff like that..."\n\nGreg shrugged, exiting the room. "Whatever, this room is boring. I'm going to look around in another room." \n\nMandy put the ball back down and followed after him. "Wait, don't leave me alone in here!"\n\n[[Go back to the main entrance]]
Greg and Mandy walked over to the shelf with the various children's books. Mandy picked up one of the books from the shelf. She looked at the cover of the book; "Go Dog Go"\n\n"Hey, look," Greg pointed at the shelf. Mandy looked up and noticed a toy doll sitting besides the books.\n\n"Hey, that's the same doll we saw in the picture." \n\nGreg reached to pick up the doll, but it dropped on the floor before he could touch it. He bent over and picked it up handing it to Mandy.\n\nMandy held the doll, "I'm going to hold onto this for a bit."\n\n"Okay, whatever."\n\n[[Look at the drawings on the wall]]\n\n[[Leave Holly's room]]\n\n
Greg and Mandy walked into the master bedroom. Inside the large room there was a queen sized bed and two dusty dressers. There were also boxes stashed in the left corner of the room. Greg spotted a flashlight sitting on one of the dressers as he walked by. \n\nHe picked it up and turned it on. "This thing could come in handy." Greg shoved the flashlight into his pocket, knowing he could use it as they explored.\n\nAs Mandy walked around the spacious bedroom she looked out the window and noticed a dark human figure sitting on the edge of the roof. She squinted her eyes trying to figure out what it was. The mysterious entity turned its head around towards her, flashing its meanacing red eyes. \n\nMandy screamed and jumped back from the window. Greg swerved his head in her direction. "What, what?"\n\nMandy pointed to the window with a shaky hand. Greg ran to the window and looked. "I don't see anything."\n\nMandy felt her heart racing. "There was something sitting on the roof, and it looked at me."\n\n"Was it a person?"\n\nMandy shook her head, "No."\n\n"Well whatever it was, it's gone now."\n\n[[Go into the bathroom]]\n\n[[Go into the other bedroom]]
They walked inside and looked around. The house looked like it had been abandoned fifty years ago. There were old tables, chairs, and boxes scattered across the rooms. The furniture and floor were dusty, and cobwebs dangled from the ceiling. Mandy looked down at the corners of the room and noticed dead bugs, and rats lying on the floor. "Ew..."\n\n[[Check out the dining room]]\n\n[[Check out the living room]]
Greg and Mandy walked up to the wall with multiple drawings taped along it. They both admired Holly's early art and looked at her pictures. There were some pictures she had drawn of herself and her family, and others of animals and scenic views. Greg and Mandy smiled as they looked at Holly's cute artwork, but then Greg came to a picture that disturbed him. \n\nHis smile quickly faded when he saw a picture Holly and drawn of her with a black figure with red eyes. She had written a caption besides the drawing of herself that said: "The Monster in the Attic"\n\nMandy also noticed the disturbing picture and felt her heart skip a beat as she recognized the image. "Greg, that's what I saw on the edge of the roof from the master bedroom."\n\nGreg walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. "I saw it too."\n\nMandy looked at Greg in shock. "What?"\n\n"I saw something earlier downstairs, but I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me. Then in the bathroom I saw it again. At that point I was denying what I saw, but I did see something, that I can't explain," he reluctantly admitted.\n\n"What the hell was going on in this house?"\n\n"I have no idea, but whatever it was, it wasn't friendly."\n\n[[Look at the shelf]]\n\n[[Leave Holly's room]]\n\n\n\n
Later that evening, Greg and Mandy approached the gates of the house. Greg pushed the creaky gate open and they made their way towards the front porch of the house. "Why do people say this place is haunted anyway?" he asked curiously.\n\n"Supposedly a family that practiced Satanism sacrificed themselves at the house twenty years ago. At least five other familes have lived here, and have reported strange noises and occurances around the house. The last family that lived here had their little girl go missing when she was left inside the house."\n\nGreg looked at her skeptically. "I don't buy that made up story..."\n\nMandy shrugged, "Well that's the story I've been told."\n\nGreg looked at the front door. "Ladies first," he said gesturing towards the door.\n\nMandy shook her head, "I'm not opening it, besides you said you weren't scared, so you open it."\n\n[[Open the door]]\n[[Don't open the door]]
"I'm not scared, but this probably is against the law to be entering this property."\n\nMandy opened her mouth to give Greg another comeback but became distracted when the door to the house slowly opened. Greg and Mandy looked at it in disbelief.\n\nMandy backed up, "See, I told you it's haunted!" \n\nGreg grabbed her arm yanking her back onto the porch. "No, it was probably just the wind." He moved the door back and forth feeling it's unsteadiness. "This house hasn't had maintenance in awhile, the door is old, that's probably why it opened, it wasn't a ghost."\n\n[[Head inside the house]]\n\n\n\n
Greg and Mandy exited the bathroom after seeing the strange unexplainable events.\n\nMandy looked back towards the bathroom. "That was really weird..."\n\n"You can say that again." \n\n[[Go into the other bedroom]]\n\n[[Go into the master bedroom]]\n\n[[Go into the other bedroom]]
Greg and Mandy enter the bathroom besides the master bedroom. Inside there is a sink that sits besides the toilet, along with a tub with a dirty shower curtain. \n\nMandy looks in the toilet and notices a dead rat floating in the dirty toilet water. "Yuck..."\n\n[[Look behind the shower curtain]]\n\n[[Look in the mirror above the sink]]\n\n[[Turn on the sink ]]
Greg and Mandy returned to the main entrance. \n\nMandy made her way towards the front door. "So, we can leave now right?"\n\nGreg looked over at the staircase leading to the second floor of the house. They hadn't looked around everywhere yet. "Wait, we didn't look around upstairs."\n\nMandy pouted. "Nooo, please I wanna go now!"\n\n"Just chill, we'll look upstairs real quick then we can go. Okay?"\n\nMandy narrowed her eyes suspiously. "...You promise?"\n\nHe stuck out his left pinkie finger. "Pinkie promise." Mandy hooked her left pinkie finger with his. "Alright..."\n\n[[Go upstairs]]
Greg and Mandy looked around the attic. In the corner of the room there was something painted on the floorboards of the room.\n\nGreg shined his light over the markings. "What's that?"\n\nBoth he and Mandy moved some of the boxes off the the strange markings on the floor and they noticed a pentagram drawn in white paint on the floorboards.\n\nMandy looked down at the demonic sign. "Oh my god..."\n\nSuddenly the boxes began to levitate off the floor and a black entity rised up from the floor. The entity had the shape of a human figure, but was much larger than any human. It had peircing red eyes and sharp fingertips.\n\nMandy and Greg froze in fear as they stared at the entity standing before them. A loud booming sadistic voice shouted, "LEAVE OR DIE!"\n\nGreg and Mandy took the suggestion and bolted for the attic ladder. Greg was half way down the attic ladder when Mandy tripped and fell over a loose board. "Greg, HELP!" \n\n[[Go back and help Mandy]]\n\n[[Leave Mandy and escape]]\n
They entered the darkened dining room and noticed a dining table with four chairs. There were cabinets aligned on the left wall of the room. One of the cabinet doors moved back and forth slowly. Greg reached out to touch the cabinet door, but before he could touch it a large grey rat jumped out, and scurried away into a corner of the room. Mandy screamed trying to avoid letting the rat run near her. \n\nGreg laughed hysterically as Mandy looked around trying to find out where the rat ran off to. "See, it wasn't a ghost? Rats are so disgusting, and they can bite you!"\n\n"Chill, it's gone now anyway."\n\nMandy continued to look around the room. As she walked around she noticed something lying on the floor. It was a pink rubber ball, she bent over picking it up examining it.
Greg and Mandy enter into the final room of the house upstairs. Once they walked inside, they noticed that this room was the least creepy of the entire house. The room almost looked pristine with how clean it appeared. The walls were a vibrant bright pink, that most little girls would chose for the color of their room.\n\nThere were loads of drawings taped onto the walls of the room. In the right corner of the room was a pile of various stuffed animals. There was also a shelf next to that with a few children's book stacked up. In the center of the room there was a small round table with a plastic tea set placed out.\n\nIn the left corner of the room, Holly's twin size bed was pushed up against the wall. \n\n[[Look at the drawings on the wall]]\n\n[[Look at the shelf]]
Greg reached for the doorknob and opened it. "Ew..."\n\nGreg noticed there were two rooms that they could explore. (the living room and the dining room.) "Which room should we look in first?"\n\nMandy stayed closely behind Greg already feeling creeped out. "I don't care, you choose!" she stammared. \n\nSuddenly a creaking sound emerged from the dining room. Both Greg and Mandy looked towards the darkened room intently. Mandy hid herself behind Greg, and peered over his shoulder. \n\n"Come on, let's go check it out," he said nodding his head in the direction of the sound. Mandy shook her head. "No!"\n\n[[Check out the sound]]\n[[Ignore it]]
Greg picked up the family photo album. On the cover of the book, it said, "White Family Photos." Greg and Mandy flipped through a few pages seeing pictures of birthdays, and holiday events. Greg flipped to a page of a family portrait taken of all three members of the family. \n\nIn the portrait there was a tall man with dark brown hair and a charming smile. He stood next to a pretty woman with long black hair, and green eyes. In between the two smiling adults was a little girl holding the doll that was on the shelf earlier. She had long brown hair and brown eyes and was also smiling in the photo. \n\n"They look like a nice family," Mandy complimented.\n\n[[Next page]]\n
Greg climbs back up the ladder. "Hold on!"\n\nThe entity slowly made it's way towards Mandy as she scooted away from the demon. "Go away!"\n\nGreg helped Mandy to her feet and the two made their way towards the ladder. The dark entity lunged towards them but a little girl glowing white, appeared in front of Greg and Mandy. She stuck out her hands creating a barrier around them. Greg and Mandy looked at Holly's ghost standing before them in disbelief.\n\nHolly looked back at them with a look of urgency. "You need to go now, he's getting really mad."\n\nThe entity screamed out in pain before recoiling back into the dark corner of the attic. Holly waved to Greg and Mandy before vanishing.\n\n"Hurry, let's get out of here!" Greg grabbed Mandy's hand and led her down the ladder. As the two made their way down the stairs the whole house began to shake, and foreign objects flew around the room trying to hit them. Mandy and Greg managed to dodge the levitating objects, and make their way towards the front door.\n\nGreg reached for the front door and slammed it open and they made their way out of the house.\n\n
Greg tried to move the rusty handle to the sink and suddenly blood started gushing out of the tap. "What the hell?" Greg quickly turned the tap off, and the blood that was once in the sink had vanished.\n\n"Mandy, did you see that?"\n\nMandy rubbed her foot against the floor. "No, I was busy killing a bug."\n\n[[Leave the bathroom]]\n
