Your alarm sounds and you wake up. Today's the day you - the head chef at Burgertown - will be making a burger for the Duke of Sandwich.
You get out of bed and you can either [[brush your teeth]] or [[get dressed]].Nice! Hygiene is important! Once you're done brushing your teeth you [[get dressed]].You want to impress the Duke so you get dressed in your best chef's whites and [[head down to the kitchen]] for breakfast, the most important meal of the day.
You grab some coffee and can either [[sit down for breakfast|long breakfast]] or [[take a breakfast bar to go|to go]]. You make yourself a quick omelete, with only the essentials: mushroom, spinach, mozzerella, and bacon of course.
Once you have thoroughly enjoyed your meal, you look at your watch and realize that you are running a bit behind schedule so you [[head out to the L station|Walk 1]]You go into the cupboard and pull out a Special K breakfast bar. Only the best on your big day.
You [[walk to the L station]].You start your walk to the L station. It's only an eight minute walk. On your way there you pass a little boy who has fallen and scraped his knee.
Do you [[stop to help him]] or do you [[keep on walking]] so you won't be late to work for your important day. You don't have time to be nice, you have to get to work on time so you can make the best burger for the Duke of Sandwich.
You [[continue to the station]].Being such a kind soul, you stop and pull out a bandaid from your backpack. You hand it to him, smile and [[continue on your way]].On your walk to the L station you walk past the local donut shop. The smells of freshly baked donuts catch you offguard. Do you [[stop to get a donut|donut]] or do you [[keep on walking|walk that walk]] so you won't be late. You buy a donut. It's amazing, light and fluffy and also sweet. That donut was worth it.
You [[continue to L station]].You arrive at the station earlier than normal, ready for your big day.
You [[take the early train]].You arrive just in time to see the train leaving. Maybe it was karma that you didn't help that boy.
You [[wait for the next train]] to arrive. You finish your donut right as you arrive to the station. You wait for your train and [[board]] when it is your turn to.The train ride isn't all that bad. There was one screaming baby but besides that it was uneventfull.
You hear "Grand and State staion," you get up and [[leave the train]].Your train finally arrives and you [[get on it|late train]], frustrated at yourself and at the world for cursing you with bad luck. You get to the station, see your train and [[hop on|uneventful ride]]. The ride is uneventful, you listen to your podcast and look out the window as the city passes by.
You [[get off at your stop]].This day couldn't get worse, there's a backup on the track and you are delayed for another fifteen minutes. You take a deep breath, it'll be alright.
Eventually it's your stop and [[you get off the train]].You walk to your restaurant, Burgertown is rated the number one Americana restaurant in Chicago. You arrive to work a little late, but it's alright because you helped out a little boy who was hurt.
You [[head to the kitchen]]. You speedwalk to Burgertown, your baby which you worked so hard to earn the title of Chicago's number one Americana style restaurant.
You [[run into the kitchen|head to the kitchen]] flustered. You start your meal prep for the day. You pull out all the ingredients, listing them off in your head to make sure you have them all; you're all good. Your day goes on smoothly, people come in hungry and leave happy, it's all you can ask for. You check your watch, the day has flown by and the Duke will be here in an hour. You [[gather all the ingredients]] you will need for his special meal. It's a short walk to Burgertown, the number one rated Americana restaurant in Chicago. You arrive right on time and [[head to the kitchen]].The ride is uneventful, you listen to your podcast and look out the window as the city passes by.
You [[get off at your stop|your stop]].You can see Burgertown from the L stop. Pride fills you as you remember that Burgertown is rated Chicago's number one Americana restaurant.
Once you get to the restaurant you [[head to the kitchen]].You tell your staff the problem and you run out of the restaurant and hail a cab to Fulton Market. You tell the cabbie to drive as fast as they can.
You arrive, tell the cabbie to keep the meter running, jump out and [[run inside to the vendor]]
You tell a sous chef exactly what you need and send them on their way. Your nerves are starting to creep up on you but there's nothing that you can do but [[wait]].You buy the beef and run out to the cab and head back to the restaurant. You nervously check your watch fourty-five minutes have passed. You arrive at the restaurant and run out of the car and [[jump back into the kitchen]].You decide to do all the prep so that all you need to do is cook the burger when you sous chef returns. You anxiously check your watch, the Duke should arrive in fifteen minutes. When you look up your sous chef has returned with the beef, just in time. All you have to do is [[cook the beef]].You go to reach the penultimate ingredient, the grass fed ground beef, only to find that it's not there. You check again and it's gone; you could have sworn you had enough for the entire day. Your gut wrenches.
You need that beef for the Duke's burger. There are two things you can do, either [[you could go to get the beef]] from your vendor or you could [[send a sous chef]] to do it. Your sous chef tells you that the Duke arrived early, but they have already completed all of the prep and were just waiting on the meat. All you have to do is [[cook the beef]].
The waiter comes back saying that the Duke wants to speak to you. You take a deep breath and [[walk to the dining room]].<img src="https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.325fss.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2017%2F10%2Fimage.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.325fss.com%2Fbyob-build-your-own-burgers&docid=BbG1TIAmu5iKQM&tbnid=xcLRBud3Bgf0tM%3A&vet=12ahUKEwjWlKO9pJ7eAhVMIqwKHVdTCEQ4ZBAzKAUwBXoECAEQBg..i&w=2048&h=1365&bih=698&biw=1280&q=burger&ved=2ahUKEwjWlKO9pJ7eAhVMIqwKHVdTCEQ4ZBAzKAUwBXoECAEQBg&iact=mrc&uact=8" />
Your life's work has come down to this moment and you give it your all. You send the burger out and [[wait for the news]] from the waiter. You greet the Duke of Sandwich politely. He waits waits for a moment.
Your hands start to sweat.
He tells you that this is the best burger he has ever had and that he will recommend it to anyone who will listen to him. You thank him profusely, it was an honor. You [[walk back to the kitchen]].Once out of earshot you yell joyously and celebrate with all of your team, you've made it!
