You blink once. Twice. Your vision focuses. You're on the ground. It's cold, and wet.
You look down and see blood pooling in front of you. Is it yours? You don't know.
Across from you is someone else. You don't know them. You never did.
You don't even know where you are, or what you were doing before this moment.
Don't know or don't remember? Everything is fuzzy.
A shadowy form steps into view. You can't focus on them. They kneel in front of you and you feel a cold wave of air over your face.
You feel a choice in your mind.
[[Close your eyes|option 1]]
[[Go back to the morning|option 2]]
Your eyes shut and you feel it. You feel the rest coming. It feels soft and warm. It feels like you've pulled the covers over after a long day's work.
It's fine. You deserve this.
You did good.
Now sleep.
[[End|End]]
Something is beeping, loudly. You blink yourself awake and grumble. It's your alarm. Of course it is.
You roll over and feel around for your phone. It won't stop vibrating and beeping until you find it.
Your fingers finally grasp it and you pull it. With a quick press you disable the alarm.

Well, it's time to start the day, isn't it? You sit up and rub your eyes. Getting up at this time isn't your favorite thing to do, but dammit, you have things to do and you plan on getting them done.
[[Get out of bed|get up 2]]
You set your phone down and roll back over. You don't have to go to work today, so why bother getting up on time?
Your eyes close and you feel satisfied with your choice. Sure, you might not get as much done you initially planned, but you'll feel awesome for sleeping in.

You wake up a few hours later, feeling pretty well rested. But your stomach grumbles. You remember that you haven't eaten yet.
The time is a little after noon. Maybe you should go get some food?
[[Get out of bed|get up 2]]
You bring yourself over to the fridge. It's completely empty save for a half filled bottle of milk and some butter.
You spy a container of left overs in the back.
[[Close the fridge|close]]
[[Check the leftovers|leftovers]]
Fuck it. You'll buy take out or something.
[[Get dressed|dressed]]
[[Just head out|head out]]
You reach in for the leftovers and take the containter out.
Opening it, you see it's week old pizza. Disappointment washes over you. Guess it's time to go buy take out.
[[Get dressed|dressed]]
[[Just head out|head out]]
You look at yourself in front of the fridge. You're still dressed in your shorts and a tank top. Realizing you have a little more pride in yourself, you head to the bathroom to wash up and get dressed.
Once you've made yourself presentable as fast as possible (your stomach continue to grumble throughout this process), you grab your shoes, keys, and phone to head outside.
[[Head outside|head out]]
It's a little chilly out, so you're thankful that you decided to put a coat on. The cool air rushes over you. You take a deep breath, feeling a little more invigorated.
You walk down the steps of your house and spot your neighbor near her car. It's been awhile since you've seen her.
[[Go say hi|hello]]
[[Go find food|food]]
You walk over and put a smile on. She sees you as you walk over and waves.
You exchange a brief conversation in order to find out what the other has been up to. You begin to feel like maybe neither of you actually have an interest in what the other is doing.
The coversation ends with false promises of getting together for drinks or something like that. It's all a bit nebulous.
Your stomach growls, it's time to find food.
[[Go find food|food]]
Your stomach grumbles a little louder than before. You can catch up with your neighbor later. For now, food is the only thing on your mind.
As you walk down the street, you begin to run through all the places you could go. You're so hungry that you everything you think of sounds like the greatest food in the world.
Maybe it would just be easier to go pick up some cereal from the convenience market nearby. The idea doesn't sound half bad.
[[Keep looking|looking]]
[[Go to the market|market]]
You decide to keep on looking. There's surely to be something that will strike your fancy.
It isn't until a few steps later that you hear someone screaming for help.
It's the owner's wife. Or at least it sounds like her. You don't see anyone. But the yelling is definitely coming from the direction of the convenience store.

The market is pretty close to your house and run by a lovely Chinese couple who live in your area.
The bell jingles as you open the door. The places sounds eerily quiet as you walk in. No customers talking, the ringing up of food, not even people shopping.
The only thing you hear is your stomach grumbling in beat with whatever pop song is playing over the speakers.
You look over and see the owner. There's a customer in front of him. Dressed in all black, facing forward. The owner looks scared. His eyes dart between you and the customer. Seems odd.
Propelled forward by your churning stomach, you begin looking for the cereal aisle.
It's after a few short steps that you hear a loud popping sound, like a firecracker.

You take a step towards the owner and his customer. But there's a loud pop, like a fire cracker.

Whatever it is, it isn't your problem, right? Let the police handle it, or someone else.
Right now, you desperately need to eat. Because you stupidly forgot food, now you're out in the cold, fishing for a place to eat.
Glass shatters behind you. A loud popping sound follows. You turn to look.
Moments later there's a second pop. This one sounds more like a firecracker.
