Narrator:
*You stumble upon a man lying on the floor who seems to be daydreaming. The man seems as if he is about to let out an enourmous and dramatic sigh*.
[[Next|Convo-1]]Brock:
*sigh*.
[[1. Ask the man if he is the one responsible for crafting all of the weapons and armour on display|Convo-2]]
[[2. Leave the man to what seems to be his existential crisis|EndingBad]]Brock:
These *imperfections*? These *abominations*? I'm ashamed to admit it but yes, I am responsible for all of this...*rubbish*!
[[1. Ask him why he is so hard on himself|Convo-3]]
[[2. Leave the man to his pity party|EndingBad]]Narrator:
*The man stands up and takes a deep breath*.
[[Next|Convo-4]]Brock:
Because I'm Brock the Blacksmith. *THE* Brock the Blacksmith! I have crafted weapons and armour for royalty all across the land! I am a master of the craft with no one to craft a masterpiece for.
[[Next|Convo-5]]Brock:
The only "customers" I have in this city are the militia, all of whom I am working for pro bono and won't allow me to spend an adequate amount of time to craft something I can be satisfied with. The only way I'll be able to create one of my masterpieces will be if a miracle happens.
[[1. Ask what a "miracle" would entail|Convo-6A]]
[[2. Mock the weapons and armour that you see and doubt his story|Convo-6B]]
[[3. Give Brock your condolences for his feelings and walk away|EndingBad]]Brock:
The miracle I refer to would of course be the town militia defeating the bandits in battle tomorrow. I wouldn't have to rush their orders and I could finally do some solid work.
[[(Persuasion) Convince Brock that with your help, the militia can win tomorrow even if he supplies them with lesser quality weapons and armour|Convo-6A-1-PersuasionCheck]]
[[Tell Brock that his idea of a miracle is a pipe dream and that he should get to work to help the militia|Convo6A-2]]
[[Thank Brock for his time and leave him to his crisis|EndingBad]]Narrator:
*Brock turns a deep shade of red and you swear you see steam spout out of his ears*.
[[Next|Convo6B-1]]Persuasion Check
[[Persuasion Pass|Convo6PersuasionPass]]
[[Persuasion Fail|Convo6PersuasionFail]]Narrator:
*Brock lets out yet another depressing sigh and looks away*.
[[Next|Convo6A-2-End]]Result:
Brock will craft new weapons and armour for the militia. Their attack and armour is increased!
[[Return to Beginning|Start]]Brock:
Don't I know it. I suppose I'll just lie back down and enjoy what's left of my wine. Farewell.
[[Walk Away|EndingBad]]Brock:
How dare you ridicule me! I've created weapons that make yours look like toys and armour that could protect even the most unskilled warriors in battle!
[[1. Ask Brock to prove his ability by fashioning you a new set of armour|Convo6B-2-End1]]
[[2. Continue to mock Brock's work|Convo6B-2B]]
[[3. Laugh and walk away from the blacksmith|EndingBad]]Result:
The militia will not have upgraded weapons or armour at the beginning of the battle.
[[Return to Beginning|Start]]Brock:
Hmm...well I suppose a sourcerer *could* theoretically turn the tide in our favour. Maybe if you *do* win the battle, you can be my newest customer!
[[Leave Brock|EndingGood]]Brock:
Hah, if you think a band of outsiders can put a dent in the bandit's numbers then you are quite mistaken, friend. Not a chance.
[[Walk Away|EndingBad]]Brock:
Alas, could I prove it I would! The bandits will ransack the town and steal all my supplies before I get the chance.
[[1. Tell Brock you are fighting against the bandits and to continue to work on his inferior product for the militia|Convo-6A-1-PersuasionCheck]]
[[2. Tell Brock he is full of rat droppings and walk away|EndingBad]]Narrator:
*Brock pulls a pair of tongs out of the fire*.
[[Next|Convo6B-2B-End2]]Brock:
I've had enough of you!
[[Fight!|EndingFight]]Result:
The player does battle with Brock.
