You are a doctor in the city of Healthopolice. You have graduated from the Medical School of Healthopolice and are ready to begin your budding career as a healer. You have been trained in three key principles as a healer:

(set: $typewriterText to "(1) to treat patients in a time-efficient manner; there are only so many healers in Healthopolice and always many more patients than doctors available
(2) to please the patient

Ok, you now have [[requests]] from three potential patients.
]
<div> <img src="https://i.imgur.com/IYUHVRz.jpg" width="256" height="256"> </div>
Mary walks into her appointment. Since it's a routine check up, you're allotted only 15 min to converse with Mary. The auto-med-nurse has prefilled information about Mary's medical history and suggests you start by asking her about her tenuous relationship with her divorced parents.
(display: "Timer")
(set: $timer to 15)
You take a look at the suggestions and decide to: [[obey]] the auto-med-nurse -- it always knows what's best or [[open with a more anodyne conversation]] -- you want to warm Mary up.
<div> <img src="https://i.imgur.com/IYUHVRz.jpg" width="256" height="256"> </div>
Because the HPolice expect chronic pain sufferers to always have chronic pain, the appointment for Joe is quite short -- a brief 10 minutes. Joe walks in, clutching his back and groaning.
(display: "Timer")
(set: $timer to 10)
The auto-med-nurse suggests you offer Joe (1) [[painkillers]] (2) a [[physical therapy]] appointment or (3) a [[wheelchair]]. You just go with the auto-med-nurse options as you're so low on time.
<div> <img src="https://i.imgur.com/IYUHVRz.jpg" width="256" height="256"> </div>
Angie walks in with a cold. Because the HPolice is always afraid a cold could be more than just a cold -- for instance, a population-ending disease -- it lets you have 25 minutes with Angie.
(display: "Timer")
(set: $timer to 15)
You begin with the only way any cold appointment can begin -- running every single virus and bacteria [[detection test]] on Angie.
You see your Healthopolice wristband that you know the HPolice uses to quality-monitor your care glow; you're getting 5/5 stars for this part of the treatment. Mary, though, looks shocked and responds, "Um, I don't know, I don't really want to talk about that now, I'm here for a physical check up."
(display: "Timer")
(set: $timer to 15)
The auto-med-nurse suggests you tell Mary that (1) [[emotional and mental health]] matters -- she is currently experiencing a check-in on that (2) [[apologize]] and start measuring her heart-rate instead or (3) [[call the HPolice]] for advice.
Mary opens up and begins chatting about school, her friends, and life. You enjoy the discussion but just as you are about the bring up her parents you're out of time -- the 15 min is up. Mary leaves and you look in horror at your physical exam sheet, seeing all the fields are empty. The HPolice auto-lowers your competency rating to 0 out of 5. It'll take a while to build that up again. Maybe you'll do better next time?
(display: "Timer")
(set: $timer to 20)
Choose your next patient: [[Joe]], a 40 year old man suffering from chronic back pain or
[[Angie]], a 30 year old woman with a cold.
<div> <img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1FaQ7SJe5Nlrqw3WyMrZmnIe617XEB0YO" width="256" height="256"> </div>
Mary rolls her eyes as you begin reading the script provided by the automed nurse on her mental health. Mary responds in one-word syllables, but at the end of the 15 min, you have your appointment sheet completely filled out. Great!
(display: "Timer")
(set: $timer to 15)
Your competency rating is 5/5 and you send Mary on her way. You [[pat yourself on the back]].
<div> <img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?id=14PFWMzsQzKfLrqouCrImExJs6Mtetloq" width="256" height="256"> </div>
You're too scared to bring up mental health again. What if Mary is angered? You'll play it safe. The 15 min is up and you've filled out all the boxes on the physical exam sheet. Mary smiles and leaves.
(display: "Timer")
(set: $timer to 15)
The HPolice auto-rates your competency rating at a respectable 3.5/5. You [[pat yourself on the back]].

The HPolice can't believe you're so incompetent that within the first 5 minutes of a 15 minute routine physical checkup, perhaps the easiest type of appointment any doctor could have, you needed help. "The auto-med-nurse knows best!" shout the HPolice. "You should have just followed her!"

DocTimeout is a strange place. You're in a shapeless room that seems like it could extend forever, and in various unidentifiable locations, you see shadows of presumably other doctors also in timeout. Every day you get a new booklet of information on best care practices.

You [[repentantly read the booklet]] or [[lie down]] in depression.
Now you are reading the booklet -- repentantly, just as the HPolice would like you to.

You realize your follies and [[admit]] them to the DocTimeout staff who visits you at the end of the week to see what you have learned or [[disagree]] with the booklet information.
The HPolice notices your lack of action. "Efficiency, timeliness!" they shout. They extend your time in [[DocTimeout]].The HPolice now let you out of DocTimeout. You may [[practice]] again. You're in [[DocTimeout]] again!
As you're in a meeting on patient histories the next week, the Chief Doctor calls your name. You stand up in shock. "It seems Mary, a patient YOU saw last week for a physical check-up, just attempted suicide. How did you not catch this?"

The Chief Doctor cuts you off halfway and roars, "You incompetent fool!" He sentences you to one year in [[DocTimeout]].

}You and the Chief Doctor really have a strong relationship going. In a rare break not subject to the usual time bounds, you serve tennis balls back and forth.
As you serve the ball, you hear the Chief Doctor complain -- "Work is all-consuming and too stressful. I didn't really ever want to do this job, it's where [[I landed up]]."

The Chief Doctor clutches his racket and walks over to you. "You, you see, can I tell you something?"
"Of course, [[you say]].""I'm addicted. I need help. I'm addicted to the painkillers Joe was addicted to. Please help!" -- the Chief Doctor abandons his racket and clutches you.
You look at him in straight shock, disappointment, and fear. You [[stammer]]."I'll, I'll .. I'll help you...." you nervously stutter.
The patients are mounting up.You excuse yourself to the restroom and text Chief Doc --
"Hey catch up with you later?" You feel horrible but you can't waste your time treating another doctor, not in Healthopolice.
But, you're getting an important case --
it's time to see [[Angie]], a 30 year old woman with a cold.
