Darkness. For I long time I'm aware that I am ... but cannot see nor move.
Nothing, and then suddenly a blurry image is starting to evolve before my eyes. A room appears, it's dark but in the light trails of small windows high up on the wall I can see puffs of dust floating in the air. Strangely the heavy moist in the air doesn't bother me, rather the opposite, it seems to make me more agile and my breathing lighter.
I try to lift my hand and I can... The deadlock is gone and with no effort I sit up and then slowly raise to a standing position.
I seem to be in some kind of storing room with a lot of shelfs on the wall and on them are greyish or red [[pots, urns, mugs and jars]]. But also strange [[limb like sculptural shapes]] of different kinds.

Many are broken or cracked, some are intact but have a dry surface which makes me believe that they won't hold water if I poured it into them. Others are shiny but strangely out of shape with a sacking handle or with a heavy tilt to the side.
Curiously I look at the [[organic sculptural shapes|limb like sculptural shapes]] instead.

An arm, a strange foot, shoulders, grotesque heads and hands with thick fingers, not with five as you would expect but with one thumb and three others, or with two thumbs and two long ones, bent like claws. I can even see an octopus like thump with eight tangling sausages coming from it. Most of the limbs seem to be joint less, there is seemingly no skeleton in them, rather organic soft bends like on a thick snake or maggots.

I don't remember anything but apparently I can resonate and I do seem to have a language. That tool on the table for instance is a saw, but I don't know how I learned that. The world as I know it is this uncanny room where I stand.

[[I'm scared but intrigued]] I cannot remember where I come from, if I have a family or friends, what I do for living or if I'm even good at anything. I seem to be strong though, tall and heavy. When I stand up my head almost hits the roof and the wooden planks I stand on creak ominously.

[[I'm scared but intrigued]] My arm comes into my field of view, a grey moist and jointless limb like the ones on the shelfs. I grab the arm with my other hand and rip a chunk of material off it. There is no pain, no nothing but I can see there’s a gaping hole in my arm. Quickly I place the chunk back into the hole, smooth out the surface and then the arm is as new again. My arms are made of clay and so are my legs, my torso. I cannot see my head but I grab it with both hands and can feel the moist organic material there too.

I tear down and smash the shelfs with the limbs that look like bodyparts. Easily I rip'em off the walls and the limbs are shredded into powder under my heavy stomping club foots. I destroy what seems to be drafts for someone constructing a creature. A creature that is me.
I need to get out of here. The room is a mess and behind the mess I can see an opening to en even [[darker room|KILN ROOM]]. Or shall I try [[the door|WORKSHOP]] behind me.

There are bricks and fire wood stapled along the walls. The room, small with no windows, is dominated by a large kiln. The chamber of it is so large so I can easily [[crawl into it]].
There is no other exit than going back into the [[storage room|STORAGE ROOM]] where you came from.
I enter some kind of workshop. The ceiling is low. Through the opening I can see a the dark figure suddenly stopping when it sees me curled up in the back of the kiln.
Almost a minute passes, the figure stands still and then it slowly closes the door of the kiln. I can her the sounds of large screws tightening the door, the figure stacking wood and a fire slowly awakening. The heat is rising, I can see the moist leaving me like a thin smoke from all over the body. I'm drying out, sintering into stone and I can no longer move. I feel no pain, rather a comfortable ease and then... nothing.

The terrified soldier backs away and as I reach for him he fires his musket. The bullet doesn't harm me, it goes right through me and I can hear a whining behind me as it hits another soldier behind me. I drive my fist hard into the soldiers chest. His feet lifts from the ground and he virtually flies a couple of feet before he hits the ground with a thud. More bullets are shot and going through me without doing any harm.
I can hear the man on the horse shouting orders. "Use your bayonets, men!", and as they do I can feel pieces of me being cut off. I hit four or five of them to the ground, but I feel that the pieces of me that are cut off is starting to immobilize me. I have to flee so I run into the wood. Branches cracks around me and shots being fired are passing by and through me and I'm not stopping until I'm sure noone's following me anymore.

I walk to the mirror but just before I'm going to look in it, I hesitate. Do I really want to see what I am, what I've become.

With my thick pointing finger I push my right eyebrow and it reshapes, the clay adjusts with my touch but when I let go the clay stays in it's new position only making me look more unsymmetrical and askew. Can I be something or someone at all? Am I created for a purpose or am I an experiment monitored right now by someone hidden in the shadows observering every move I make.

I sit down outside the cave and look at the view. I can see the workshop where I woke up, the path passing it. On a mountain top opposite mine, a dark and horryfing castle rises and in the valley a brook is running, passing a small village, but I can hear nothing but the wind and some birds tjattering in the trees below me.

I go into darkness and don't sit down until it's so dark so I can no longer see where I put down my feet. I sit and wait, for what I don't know. Do I need something to live? I don't know. There is no hunger nor thirst. The only thing I seem to need is moist in order for my limbs to move and in the cave there is moist so I feel well. To well!
I hear some water dripping somewhere near me and I crawl against it. I stay in a position where I can feel water dripping on my head and I stay there for a long time. For days, nights, weeks, and months the water is dripping on my head slowly dissolving the clay making a deeper and deeper hole. Finally it reaches whatever it is I'm thinking with and I get to rest. I think no more.
THE ENDI walk in the woods until I hear voices. Between the trees I can see a small group of hunters armed with bows and muskets.

I feel comfortable in the wood where it's shady, quite and moist. There are animals in the forest, you can see birds, squirrels and even a deer. They are naturally suspicious when I close up on them but not judgemental as all the humans I've encountered so far.

The pit is deep, I cannot get up and I blame myself for being so fucking stupid. The hunters gather around the edge of the pit and I can hear their upset voices talking in eachothers mouths. After a while they stop talking, I can no longer se them by the edge but hear them walk around above and pick with things.

Darkness, nothing and then suddenly a blurry image is starting to evolve before my eyes. A second awakening but now I find that I'm locked in a cage on a small village square. I'm sitting on the ground, the cage is so small so I can't stand up nor lie down.
There is a lot of people around the cage, men, women, children, all gathered to cath a glimpse of the freak the hunters caught in the forest. They're shouting, mocking, pointing and laughing at me.
"Look, how ugly it is!"
"Is it dangerous?"
"Is it a troll?"
"Oh, it is more despicable than I could imagine!!"
"Kill it, Kill it, kill it!"
They're poking at me with sticks, spitting at me and throwing trash and excrements at me. I try to cover in the middle of the cage out of reach of spoons trying to grab chunks of me. I bury my face in my hand and try to shut off. For a long time it doesn't work, my anger and anxiety is making it impossible but after several hours I loose control of my mind and thoughts and [[pass out]].
I put my legs against the wall of the cage and push away so my back is pressing on the opposite side. I don't have to push for long, I can feel the wooden ribs crack behind me and suddenly they give in. The wood splinters and I fall backwards out on the ground. I'm free.
There are houses around the square but only one where there is light in the windows. I can hear loud exhilirated voices from inside..

Men and women, eating and drinking at the tables flinches at the sudden noise and stare at me paralyzed as I charge into the room. The innkeeper dives behind the bar counter and the maid drops the tray with 3 glasses of beer crashing into the ground.

For every day I can feel the moist leaving me, making me more and more unable to move. On the fourth day I try to move my one working arm but I hit a bar in the cage and the hand breaks off in a cloud of dust and as it hits the ground it breaks into dry pieces.
In the fifth day I can no longer move. As a try, I can feel cracks going through my body and dry large pieces of me falling off and hit the ground.

We march for an hour until we reach the southern ridge where the path starts to rise at the side of the mountain. We stop at a small settlement where the riders leave their horses and after that the trip continues by foot. As the castle is getting closer the path is getting steeper and narrower. On our right side a railing is mounted in the mountain and on our left there is an almost vertical drop against the tree tops in the forest below.
The soldier beside me says that this is the only path that leads up to the castle and it is intentionally built in this directon so that in case of an assault the defenders will be able to hold on to the railing with their left arms and their swords in their right arms. The attackers though will have to hold their swords with their left arms.

I wait for a long time until I haven't heard any sounds from the workshop outside and then I have no problems breaking the door. With just one blow of my fist the lock cracks and the door slams open. Alice must have known that this door could not possibly contain me and it occurs to me that this might just be another test of hers.
The workshop is empty, no guard or anything and suddenly I feel indecisive of what to do now that I'm out. This room gives me the creeps though, so at the least I know that I don't want to stay in here. Outside the workshop is a stairwell with stairs leading up and down. I know that if I go up I will probably end up in the [[throne room|hall]] and if I go down, maybe I will find the door that leads to the [[courtyard]].

Without any attempt of hiding I parade into the throne room proudly demonstrating that I'm not anyone that you can contain in a locked room like an animal. The duke is sitting in his throne smiling and Alice is standing beside him.
"So you are eager to offer your services to me. ", he says, "Alice here tells me she had you locked you in. She's worried that you will turn on us you see, but I take it you were displeased by her treatment. No worries, I can understand that, I'm rather impressed actually by you walking in here, your initiative and your strength.
Still, you understand maybe that you have to prove yourself if I am to fully trust you and since you're here now I can explain what I had in mind. [[A small task]] and if you fulfill it I promise you I will help you find the answers you seek."
The door to the jail tower is open and I enter a hall with two guards and an officer sitting by a desk sorting documents. Behind him on the wall is a row of six small wooden boxes, each containing a hook with a key hanging on it. The men look me but doesn't take any action against me as I pass by them and walk down a stone corridor with three iron bar doors on each side. It's dark and the cells seem to be empty but suddenly I can hear [[a low moaning from the last cell on the right side]].

"But I don't blame them to much, the commoners are simple and don't know better. So I have to talk a language they understand and sometimes I unwillingly have to make an example and now the time has come."
"There is a bellwether, a trouble maker that has caught the attention of the villagers and his name is Viktor, they listen to his decieving lies and I cannot accept that. I want you to bring me his head. It's the only way they can understand. They don't know you but you intimidate them, you can enter the village and have the strenght to strike down Viktor. The keep rises dark and appallining above our heads. The duke waves at me and leads the way upwards a staircase at the side of the keep and through a small door. In the light of torches I follow him through corridors and stairs until we enter a large room with lines of chairs at the sides and a large throne in the far end. There are some officers in there and a muscular woman with short hair, hands blackened of soot and a leather apron. She looks at me seemingly intrigued by my appearance.
"Look what I found in the forest", the duke says to the woman. "It is strong. I want you to take care of it and examine it's powers and weaknesses. I want to use it to intimidate and quell the trouble makers that dare to challenge my reign. Tommorow I will test his allegiance to me and if he succeeds I will reward both of you. "
He turns at me, "This is Alice my polyhistor, she will take care of you." and then he walks away.
I follow the polyhistor to her workshop. "Do it have a name?", she asks without looking at me as we walk down stone corridor.

The workshop is filled with tools, drawings, materials, models of strange war machines, laboratory flasks, beakers and retorts. There is a furnace with a burning fire and shelfs with bottles filled with different colored powders and liquids. In the middle of the room there is a working table with the surface about the size of a human body and along one of the long sides of the room are three rows of elevated platforms for spectators. The room sent a shiver up my back as I recognized this as an anatomic theatre and I had a strange feeling that I had some time been lying on such a table with someone digging in my intestines and lines of silent spectators watching.
The polyhistor examines me thoroughly. I sit on the table as she takes small pieces of my body and puts in small test tubes. She measures my arm and leg-strengths by making me pull levers connected to ropes weighed down by pieces of iron. I agree to the treatment hoping that she will actually provide me with some answers of who I am and what I'made of but as the examination proceeds she stays silent.

The door is made of wood and I can probably break it and leave this jail. They will have to know that they cannot contain me like some kind of animal. On the other hand this may intimidate them so it might be better to play along for a while. At least until I can get some answers.

There are a lot of people on the yard, servants, maids, crafters and soldiers. Some are horrified at the sight of me and others shout at me to go to hell. I ignore them, but strangely the soldiers doesn't seem to care about me, as if they were informed not to take any action against me.
I can see the scout, the man the duke sent away against the village, entering through the main gate.

He will manipulate you into doing his services like he does with all his subjects, and when he has no use of you anymore he will dispose you. "
He turns away and starts walking up the stairs to the keep.

The soldier looks confused but waves for an officer to come. After a short briefing another soldier is sent into the keep and some others are guarding us. After a while we're escorted into the keep and the throne room where the duke awaits us.
I inform the duke about the scouts words, exaggerating and even fabricating a story about how the scout has said that he's spying on the the duke and tried to turn me over to the villagers side.
"No, it's lying, it's not true", I can hear the scout screaming as the soldiers are holding him down. The duke smiles and winks to the soldiers to remove this screaming man and I can hear his shouting getting fainter as the soldiers are dragging him down the stairs.
"So you are eager to offer your services to me. ", the duke says, "Alice here tells me she had you locked you in because she's worried that you will turn on us you see. I take it you were displeased by her treatment. No worries, I can understand that. I'm rather impressed actually by your initiative and your strength. And now you've showed your loyalty in this way by exposing that I have traitors in my own back yard.

Wildly I hit and kick and manage to down two or three of them, but then there are five more and the scout was right. I'm outnumbered and they easily wrestle me down to the ground. Moments later they have me in chains and are dragging me in the dirt against the jail tower. I offer some resistance but it's pointless. They drag me into the jail tower and throws me into a cell and this time I won't be able to break out because [[the walls are made out of stone and the doors of iron bars.]]

<<set $health -= 20>>After about an hour duke Dracul is coming in his beautiful golden button uniform. He stands outside the cell and I try to grab him with my arm through the iron bars but he stand calmly with a perfect distance so I wont be able to reach him.
"You know that you had the chance to join me, but look at you now, a rotting piece of junk. You can surely understand that I won't be able to trust you if you attack me or my men. I have no use of you anymore and will leave you here to dry out until there is no more of you than a pile of dirt. ", and then he leaves.
For every day I can feel the moist leaving me, making me more and more unable to move. On the fourth day I try to move an arm byt I hit a stone in the wal, the hand breaks off in a cloud of dust and as it hits the ground it breaks into dry pieces.
In the fifth day I can no longer move. As a try, I can feel long cracks going through my body and dry large pieces are falling off hitting the ground.
In the sixth day my thoughts are getting slower and I can feel whatever I'm thinking with dry out.
The last thing I can see is a man standing still and watching me through the bars, he is blond, bearded and wearing glasses. He's got a leather apron around his waist stained with spots that has the same colour as my body. I realize that this is my [[maker]]I manage to slug a few of them down. I got men's teeth deeply sunk into my clay fists as more and more men are coming and I can no more stand ground as my legs are so full of cuts and holes so they cannot carry me any more.

The woman sits still in her cell and says nothing

The cell has no furniture. There is only a straw bed on the floor, an empty plate and a bucket which judging from the smell of it hasn't been emptied for quite a while. As my eyes are getting used to the darkness I can discern a woman cuddling up in the corner of the room. She is dirty and the naked limbs sticking out of her felt clothing is merely skin and bone.

I whisper so the guards wont hear me; "No matter what you've done, noone deserves this treatment? Who are you and why are you here?"
The moaning ends and after a moments silence the answer is suprisingly determinded. "I've done nothing wrong but speaking about how the duke is pestering us with high taxes and demands of allegiance. If we don't pay we are forced to enlist in his army. The duke imprisoned me here and my beloved husband is forced to spy on the village otherwise they will kill me. I try to tell my husbband that I would rather die but he wont listen. I don't know who you are but please help us if you can. "
I silently wonder why she trusts me with all this information, but then again, she's got nothing to loose. She must grasp every chance she gets and to me it seems impressive that she can still show this kind of hope.

I grab the bars with my large hands, I try to bend them and shake them but with no success. The woman looks at me and slowly stands up on shaking legs. "You'll need the keys", she says.
With long steps I walk back into the hall. I close up on the two guards and before giving them the tinyest moment of understanding of what's about to happen, I've grabbed their heads and smashed them together so hard so their heads crack open. The officer stutters something incomprehensible behind his desk but is not able to make himself heard outside the thick stone walls. Within moments his head is also cracked open and squeezed down against the papers on the tabletop.'
I grab all the keys and walk back into the corridor. I try them one after another until I can hear the door to the cell unlock with a click.
I open the door and the woman hesitates for a moment maybe for the first time wondering what strange creature I am and whether she can trust me. She descides quickly though, she still has nothing to lose and stumbles out through the door. She stops for a second time to stare at the mess in the hall before she turns at me and asks; "what now? How do we get by the soldiers on the court yard? You cannot strike all of them down like you did with these poor ones. "
We strip the officer from his uniform trousers and jacket and the woman puts the on. On a hook we find a cloak with a hood which she drags around herself to conceal her emancipated state which makes the uniform barely hang on to her. With the hood over her head we stumble out on the [[courtyard|courtyardEscape]].

The woman can hardly walk so I have to support her on my arm. In the crowd of the court yard though, many of them raise their eyebrows at the sight of me but noone seem to care about the person beside me.
I can hear the woman stutter something and she grabs my arm turning my attention against the stairs that leads from the keep. Her husband, the scout is coming down and walks against the main gates. We rush our steps to reach him.
The man sees us coming against him and stops. When we come close the woman peek at him under the hood and he opens his mouth in suprise. A short blink of pain in his eyes but in the next moment he concentrates to look unaffected by the sight of his wife. He looks at me.
[["Go", I say "You two, Go to the village and tell them I set you free." ]]
[["Come", I say, and together we walk against the main gate.]]
Heads are turned against me. Some of them who haven't seen me before are agitated, some point and laugh at me and others grimace disgusted at the sight of me. The duke is sitting in his throne smiling and Alice is standing beside him.
"I knew I could trust you. ", he says, "Alice here tells me she had you locked you in. She worries that you will turn on us you see, but I don't believe that. I know you want to know who made you and I will help you in that task.
Still, you understand you have to prove yourself if I am to fully trust you and since you're here now I can explain what I had in mind. [[A small task]] and if you fulfill it I promise you I will help you find the answers you seek. ""I accept", I reply to him.
"Good, But know that I want his head as proof. Go down to the village. Viktor is the only son of the blacksmith and he's an apprentice of his fathers so you will probably find him in the village smithy."
He waves to an officer beside him, "Show him to the outer gates" and the officer and two soldiers lead the way through the corridors, out on the court yard where scout is standing with a wondering look on his face. We go through all three gatehouses before they harschly push me down against the path outside. I walk down the path by the mountain side against the [[woods beneath]].

<<set $neuroticism += 0>>I don't know if I could trust the duke, but if I do this he has the power to get some answers of who made me and why.
I pass the settlement with the stables and enter the woods. I don't want to follow the main road because I want avoid encounters with people that will end in either me scaring them away, them attacking me or like the duke want to use me for their own purposes. My confidence in mankind is low at the moment, noone up til now has shown any real interest in getting to know the person behind the monster, noone has shown any kindness or consideration. They all judge me by my looks.
On the way down the mountain I could see a brook running through the woods and down against the village resting in the valley to the northeast. I leave the road and [[enter the shady wood|I go down again.]] and try to keep a direction so I will intercept the brook and then I can just follow it until it reaches the village. In the shadows I sneak around the village, trying to avoid being seen by someone looking out a window. Suddenly I hear voices coming closer around the corner of a half-timbered house with a thatched roof. Quickly I dive behind some crates just in time as two men with sharp pikes and an oil lantern, pass by me as they small talk with low voices.

[[Wait until they are gone.]] -...evil I say, evil and grotesque, must be the work of Lucifer.
- No, seriously, do you believe in that shit. It must be something the duke's behind, and that Alice, his mad scientist woman.
- Well it's the same thing, isn't it?

[[Attack them!]]
[[Wait until they are gone.]]I rise from my hideout and rush against them. One of the men must have caught glimpse of me since he suddenly shouts out loud, turns around and backs away from me with his pike raised in defence. The other one, holding the lantern, doesn't react as fast and does not understand what struck him as he falls backward with blood running out his broken nose and jaw.
The lantern drops in the ground and the oil causes a fiery flash which distracts me for a moment and I sense that the burn causes the clay surface on my legs to dry and crack. In the next moment my ears almost explode by a large howling sound and I can see the other man blowing a horn signaling to the village that there is danger upon them.

<<set $hospitalityVillagers =-5>>I wait until I cannot hear them anymore and the last shadows casted by light the of lantern is faded away. I stand up and continue my search for the village smithy. In the outskirts of the village I find a house blackened by soot and with a large chimney raising from it's roof. From a window right below the chimney a faint flaming light is glowing. A furnace. I reckon this is it, the smithy and my unsuspecting victim must be in there.
In the next moment I can hear a howling sound, like a blowing of a horn from the direction of the square. The patrol must have discoverd my escape. I freeze a moment too long and as I do lights starts to glow in the windows of the surrounding houses. Upset voices and shouts are heard from inside of them. The door of the smithy slams open and in the back light I can see a large muscular man, bare breasted with hair in his face, on his chest and arms. He's holding a large broad sword and he stares directly at me. I can also hear other doors opening around me and steps closing in.

I run for the man who drops the horn and the pike, turns around and runs for his life screaming. As the chase goes on lights starts to glow in the windows of the surrounding houses and upset voices and shouts are heard from inside of them.
[[Continue chasing him.]]
[[Run away!]]I'm strong but not strong enough to fight the whole village single-handedly so I run for the forest. I can hear the villagers chasing behind me but I have longer legs which makes me faster so I reach the protectivenes of the dark forest. I slow down and can feel my feet sinking in the wet muddy ground. It must be some kind of swamp or wetland. I bend down and find what seems to be some animals den in the mud. I crawl into it, turning around so I get wet mud all over my body and try to dig myself as deep I can into the wet clay. I have no lungs, I don't breathe so when I lie still I lie completely still. There is no movement whatsoever that reveals the monster resting under the mud. I feel good in the clay, I have only one arm but my other injurys seem to heal, if only for a little.
After a while the forest is crawling with torches moving around searching for the beast. They have no luck and as the night turns into day the men and women become fewer and are replaced by some hogs poking in the mud. [[Oink Oink!]]

I jump on his back with all my weight and can hear his spine crack. He's howling in pain and to finish him I grab his head and twist it so his neck breaks and by that he's finally silent.
But the screaming does not end because by now the whole village is on it's legs and closing in on me armed with pikes, sticks, swords, frying pans and torches. They are too many and I cannot defend myself as they overthrow me and [[push me down into the ground.]].

Back on the the square there are hundreds of raging men, women and children screaming at me. All of them wants a chunk of me. With bare hands they are grabbing pieces of what's left of my body. The last thing I can see is a man standing still and watching the scene, he is blond, bearded and wearing glasses. He's got a leather apron around his waist stained with spots that has the same colour as the chunks people are ripping of my body. I realize that this is my [[maker]]
I rush against Viktor and he rushes against me. Violently we smash together. With his sword he cleaves my left arm completely off and with my right arm I strike him hard in his chest, so hard I can feel ribs collapsing under my fist. His feet is lifting from the ground as he flies backwards and lands on his back three meters away from me. I cannot discern any pain in the expression on his face, only decisiveness and within moments he is on his legs again pushing against me.
But this time he is not alone. By now the whole village is on it's legs and closing in on me from all sides armed with pikes, sticks, swords, frying pans and torches. They are too many and I cannot defend myself as they overthrow me and [[push me down into the ground.]].

<<set $health -= 10>>I almost fell asleep during the night but now a pig is poking on my leg. I rise slowly and try to see if there are any other living things around me, but there are only hogs.
I am just outside the village but now the villagers are on guard. They know that I'm out here. But they don't know what or who I'm after and that can be to my advantage. I sneak closer to the village, hiding in the bushes by the edge of the wood. I can see several armed men posted by the houses that are close to me.

[[Try to sneak into the village.]]I wait for a couple of hours and nothing seems to change. Some people are entering or leaving the village but they always seem to be protected by the guards or are to far away for me to catch. Then I can hear someone singing, a maid is walking in my direction with two wooden buckets, maybe with some slop for the pigs behind me. She is accompanied by a single guard but he alone poses no threat to me.

I sneak around the outskirts of the whole village before I decide which place is the best to enter unseen. On it's east side there are some decayed houses that seem to be overlooked by the guards. I crawl against them and reach the closest one without being discovered. Hiding below a beetle roof I can hear some singing. A maid is walking by me with two wooden buckets, accompanied by a single guard but he alone poses no threat to me.

[[Hide and wait until they've passed.]]I go for the guard, punching him in his face with my one arm and he immediately falls unconscious to the ground. By doing that I can't stop the maid from dropping her buckets, turning around and screaming her head off while running into the village. The guard hesitates, stops and stares at me holding the woman in front of me. The girl screams and tries to get away and finally the guard picks up his horn and blows in it.
I position myself with my back against a wall, holding the maid in front of me with my one arm around her neck so I easily can break it at any time. Calmly, I tell her not to move and be quite and she does not dare to disobey.
A crowd is gathering around us, curious villagers, armed men and women and among them I can see the dukes scout, or rather his spy. The one the duke sent away against the village after my encounter with the wood cutter. In the back I can even see some of the dukes soldiers standing still watching the scene. Some of the villagers try to talk to them, seemingly upset, but the guards does not do anything.
A man is making his way through the crowd. He is large and muscular, with hair in his face and on his arms. He's all covered with black soot, wears a leather apron and in his right arm is a heavy hammer.
"I'm Viktor", he says, "Release her!"
I don't reply and he continues "What do you want from us? Why have you come?"
I say:
[[I want your head]]
[[I need you to come with me]]
"Well, I won't give it to you freely. ", Victor says.
He continues; "So, it must be duke Dracul who sent you.
You have to let the woman go, you are outnumbered here."

"Ok, I will come with you if you let her go"
I reply:

I let go of the woman who stumbles away and is taken care of by some villagers. immediately I'm overthrown by the villagers, I'm pushed down into the dirt and people are kicking, hitting and picking at me with sticks and pikes.
"Stop", I can hear Viktor shouting and the men stops hitting but keeps pushing me to the ground. Viktor bends down, looks me in my eyes and says, "That was smart of you. So maybe yo have some kind of brain in there. I wasn't sure. Now you have two options, tell me everything or we'll chop you into pieces"
[[Tell him nothing]]I tell him to drop his hammer, turn his back against me and back up against me. When he's close, quickly I let her go and grab him instead. He's calm and does not resist. The maid stumbles off and is taken care of by some villagers.
"You are still outnumbered and have nowhere to go", Viktor says

[[Drag him away]]"Both of you will come with me", I say as I tighten my grip around her neck so she gives out a faint gasp.
"OK, OK!", Viktor says, "I will come, just don't hurt her."
I tell him to drop his hammer and follow me.
"You are still outnumbered and have nowhere to go", Viktor says
I start to move with my back against the wall and the woman in front of me still with my arm around her neck. I tell the other villagers to back off. For the first time I can see some fear in Viktors eyes, he nods and the villagers back off, allowing me to slowly drag the maid with me against the edge of the forest with Viktor following a couple of meters behind. As we're about to dissapear in the bushes some men try to approach but when I tighten my grip around the womas neck they stop.
[[Let the maid go]]
[[Kill the maid!]]
With a decisive twist I break his neck and drop his body on the ground heavily shaking out of death throes. [[In the next moment the village is upon me again with a heavy rain of beating and punches.|push me down into the ground.]]

He stretches his body, grabs my arm and tries to kick backwards against my legs, but I am stronger and taller than him and so I lift him off the ground again tightening my grip around his neck making him gasp in panic for air.

"No I won't let you leave this village.", Viktor says "You're after my head. " Viktor goes berserk and in his rage he mobilizes strenghts that he really does not possess and actually manages to push me hard enough so I fall to the ground. In the the next moment [[I'm surrounded by armed men striking me down.|push me down into the ground.]]
Viktor looks at me with dissapointed eyes. Then he turns away, waves with his hand and leaves the scene. [[In the next moment the village is upon me again with a heavy rain of beating and punches.|push me down into the ground.]]He's strong but eventually he passes out and dies. I only need his head so I drag the body to large stone with a sharp edge and start scraping his neck against it. It's easy until I reach the the spine and then I have to hit the body against the stone until the neck breaks and the head comes off the body. I grab the head in a tuft of it's hair and [[start walking against the castle]]

I let him go and he can regain his breathing. I continue dragging him through the forest, but it's hard and takes time. I haven't covered much distance as I can hear a branch cracking behind me but it's to late a hard blow in my head makes me let go of Viktor and in the the next moment [[I'm surrounded by armed men striking me down.|push me down into the ground.]]
I walk through the woods, hurt, with a man's head dripping blood in my one arm. I walk fast since I can hear behind me that the villagers have found Viktors body and have started following the blood trail. I reach the road, where a patrol of the duke's men are resting. The rise and stare horrified at the sight of me and what I have in my hand.
"Take me to the duke", I command and as I do I can hear some outraged villagers closing up behind me. The commander of the patrol confronts them, saying "Go away, we will take care of this. The duke will descide what should be done about this creature!" There is no option for the villagers and they have to stay and watch me being escorted [[down the road against the castle, still with the head of their hero in my hand.]]I tell him to drop his hammer, turn his back against me and back up against me. When he's close, quickly I let her go and grab him instead. He's calm and does not resist. The maid stumbles off and is taken care of by some villagers.

But it's hard and I'm soon discovered by some kids chasing eachother around the village, rushing around the corner of the butcher's house and suddenly finding themselves standing face to face with me. I try to grab one of them but they are too fast for me and rush away screaming "The monster", "The freak", "The ugly" in all directions. [[In the next moment the village guards is upon me again with a heavy rain of beating and punches.|push me down into the ground.]]After a walk through the woods and up by the mountain side I enter the castle for a second time and is led into the throne room to meet Duke Dracul. As I enter the room I throw the head in a wide bow through the room. It lands on the shiny marble intasia floor and rolls all the way to the duke himself who has to stop it with his foot, leaving a trail of blood behind.
The duke smiles and says, "Like to make a dramatic entrance I see. I like it but can not allow you to diminish my power in my own throne room. I am your master, remember that, and now bow to pledge me allegiance.

The duke takes a step forward against me and all the soldiers tighten their grips of their weapons causing a short rattling sound of metal.
"Don't let your foolish pride decieve you from what is best for you. Hear me, I do have some answers for you but you have to get down on your knees if you want them. "

[[Turn around and walk away|I turn around and walk away]]The duke still has the power to help me so I bow to him.
"Good", He says, "I see you have completed your task, this is indeed the head of Viktor and I hope that the unrest in the village is now submerged and that I have put enough fear into my subjects minds so that they won't dare to defy my reign again for a long long time.
I thank you, and I do have a present for you.
Guard, fetch me the artisan. "
Two of the guards leave the room and after about ten minutes they return with a man in chains between them. They push him inside and force him down on the floor. He is blond, wearing beard and half broken glasses. He's got a leather apron around his waist stained with spots that has the same colour as the chunks people are ripping of my body. I realize that this is my maker.
The duke continues, "This is the the one who made you. We have questioned him and know now his intention of making you. Unfortunately he was shouting very loud so we had to cut off his tongue. I could not sleep you see.
He has his workshop near where we found you and we found him searching in the woods for something, ... or someone.", the duke gazes intensly at me, "He admits getting the formula for evoking life spirit into clay from an old zionite in Prague and his intention, as we suspected, was to make a monster to aid the villagers in defying me, their benefactor and protector. Poor souls they do not understand what evils rest out there and from whom I protect them."
As he talks the maker lies on the floor making guttaral sounds as he's trying to talk and each time the soldiers kicks or pokes at him with the blunt end of a halberd.
The duke goes on, "Surely good Viktor here ordered the artisan to create you and now he is righteously punished.
What will become of the artisan here is for you to descide. Will you have the pleasure of executing him yourself?"

The maker lifts his head and looks intensly at me as I walk against him. He's calm and quite and looks me into my eyes. I put my foot on his head and push it against the ground, I lift my other foot, balancing so all my weight lies on the makers head. I rock my body a little until I can hear my makers skull crack below me. A poodle of blood and brain substance grows under my foot as I can hear Duke Dracul applauding and laughing.
I walk against him causing bloody footsteps on the marble floor.
The duke smiles.
"I'm very happy with what you have achieved and I'm pleased to offer you rich chambers, women or men as you prefer, power and wealth if you continue to serve me. What say you?"

"Be gone", the duke says and the maker stares first at him and then me. I look at at the maker but stand still, he bows his head turns around and stumbles against the doorway.
The duke looks at an officer beside him who nods, walks up against the maker, turns his halberd around and pierces him in his back all through the body. The maker falls and a red fountain creates a poodle of blood growing under the dead makers body.
The duke looks at me.
"Of course I cannot accept such disobediance from my subjects, he had to be punished.
I'm very happy though with what you have achieved and I'm pleased to offer you rich chambers, women or men as you prefer, power and wealth if you continue to serve me. What say you?"

The death of Viktor did not immideately submerge the furious villagers, instead it triggered a massive uprising, but without a strong leader and with me aiding the duke it was quickly beaten down. The vengeance of the duke was harsch. Almost half of the men in the village was publicly hanged or ripped into body parts by me.
I indeed recieved rich chambers, with a large and soft bed with white linen. Every morning my own servants replaced the sheets, discolored by clay, with new clean ones. I had my own new artisan repairing the holes in my body and I fucked all the beautiful village people the duke sent in to me. I had power and wealth and I lived happy ever after.

Noone stops me as I leave the castle and walk into the woods.
The death of Viktor did not submerge the furious villagers, instead it triggered a massive uprising. Even many of the duke's own soldiers turned against him as they saw the angry horde ransacking the stables down the mountain and approaching the castle. The siege went on for two months but eventually the duke had to surrender begging for his life. He was decapitated and his head was pierced onto a pole and left to rot at the village square. He recieved the same punishment his own ancestors used. His great grandfather was Vlad Dracul, the impaler.
I am alone again and have made enemies with everyone. Wherever I go my reputation goes before me. Forever I am the evil monster that slayed the hero of the people. I am not welcome anywhere.
I wander for days, months, years, I'm not sure, until I see a [[cave up on the mountainside.|A cave suits me fine.]]

The man doesn't believe me and starts to walk backwards away from me, stuttering "Begone evil ugly creature, begone"

"You mean that I will give you my axe? What if you cut me up with it. "

I grab the axe and put a large log on the chopping block. With just one strike the log is cleaved in two pieces, each flying through the air in opposite directions. Čeněk takes the pieces and piles them on a wheelbarrow.
In less than half an hour a whole birch tree is cut up. Some of the wood is on the whellbarow and the rest, the man has piled in a beautifUl circle up around another tree.
"Thank you", Čeněk says. "I will take this wood to my cabin for storage. You should go the village. I think they can help better than I, but tell them that Čeněk send you. I have a pigeon in my cabin and I will send her with a message telling them what you did for me. Ask for Viktor. He knows what to do."
He points in the direction of the village and I start walking. The last thing I hear is Čeněk shouting, "Watch out for the Duke's soldiers. Don't believe anything they tell you. The duke is evil. "

I walk in the direction that Čeněk pointed out. I feel more comfortable in the wood rather than out on the road. The wood is shadowy and moist and I feel noone can see me but creatures that cannot think or judge.
I can hear some noise. Branches cracking, snoorting Horses, sabre rattling and men shouting orders. Through the trees I se glows of metal shining in beams of sunlight.

I sneak closer and hide in some bushes by the road. A caravan of soldiers are marching on the road.

After another moment of hesitation the closest man says.
"Stand where you are. We will take you to Viktor, but don´t try anything or we'll cut you to pieces, as the monster you are. "
The men come closer but they walk in a circle around a small clearing just in front of me. I realize that this is a pitfall and that I would have fallen into it if I had taken a few more steps against them.
[["You call me monster, and you tried to trap me. No I wont follow you!" I rise my hand threateninguely.]]
[[Stand still and wait.]]The men are already around me and before I know it, one of them has skillfully thrown a rope and snared my feet. I fall to the ground and in the next moment they are all together pushing me against the pit until the ground opens below me and I fall.

We walk for hours in the thick wood. I loose my directions almost immediately but the men seem to find their way easily. We seem to avoid roads but then suddenly we stand by the edge of a small village.
The men pause for a moment and whispers something among themselves and then one of them runs ahead into the village.
One of the others looks at me, nods and then we [[enter the village.]]
There are a lot of people around us, men, women, children, all gathered to cath a glimpse of the creature found in the forest.
"Look, how ugly it is!"
"What is it?"
"Is it a troll?"
"I like it!"
"Is it dangerous?"
"It's beautiful!"
We stop in a small square and are met by a large muscular man, bare breasted with hair in his face, on his chest and arms. He's holding a large hammer and he stares directly at me.
"I am Viktor", He says, "What are you? "

"Well then. I might just have a task for you. There is this evil duke forcing us to leave almost all of our crops and cattle in taxes. He says he needs it to protect us.
But from what I wonder. We don't know of any evil threatening us. No dragon nor monsters. We just try to live in piece of what the land supply us with. To us it doesn't matter if it's Duke Dracul, Count Vladimir or lord shit who's opressing us. [[They are all the same.]]"
I can see Viktor tightening his fist and the men around us come closer. "You are not in a position to make demands. I advice you to be careful with what you say. "

Viktor pauses shortly and seems to consider how much he can ask from me.
"The duke has thrown some of our villagers i jail. If you can free any of them I will trust you and help you. I'm sure the Duke will be interested in a strong figure like yourself. Maybe you can pretend to be of service to him and be allowed inside the castle where the jail is.
What do you say?"

Viktor looks hard at me. "Well you should make it your business if you want me to help You. "

One of the men points at a mountain in the distance to the northwest of us. Its higher than the others, with a sharp peak and the man explains that the Duke has named this mountain The tooth of Dracul. This is also where he has his castle. "Walk in the direction of the mountain and sooner or later you will encounter the duke's men."
"Do you need anything?", another of the men asks, "We have some weapons and armor. And do you want something to ...", the man hesitates, "eat or drink?"

[[I say nothing, I pass without looking at him and enter the woods.]]
Apparently they don't want me near any of the dwelling houses so they set me up behind a goat house and fetches some bread and water. I try to eat some bread but it doesn't work. It's just dry and doesn't seem to fulfil any needs I might have so I spit it out.
Instead I drink some water and this on the other hand seems to do good in some way. It remoisturizes my limbs and I can move more smoothly. I look at my wounds and they don't look at all so bad as they did just moments ago.
I deny the weapons and armor though. I believe i'll do better with my own fists and body strength and armor won't do any difference.
I can feel the eyes of the men in my back as I once again [[enter the woods.|I say nothing, I pass without looking at him and enter the woods.]]
<<set $health += 20>>I start walking in the direction of The tooth of Dracul and when the dawn falls it's still far in the distance. I spend the night in the shadow of a fir-tree.
In the next morning I start walking again and in the late afternoon I'm finally close to the mountain. I can hear some [[rumble in the distance.]]I sneak forward and hide in a schrubbery. There is a road and I can see wagons, horses, men, women and soldiers passing in both directions.

[[Enter the road.]]I step out of the bushes and within moments the rumble seems to stop. I can hear people saying. "Look!", "What is it!", "Get the constable!"
Some daring men draw their swords, pikes and muskets and start surrounding me.
"Stand still", one of them order me with a quavering voice.

<</if>>Visciously I charge against the closest man and rip his right arm off. I stretch for the next one and hits him in the chest so hard I can feel the the ribs collaps under my fist. I can feel swords and pikes cutting holes in my body and some musket shots going right through me hitting another soldier standing behind.
I get more and more furious piling mutilated soldiers screaming in panic by my feet. But more men are coming and my ability to move decreasing. My legs no longer carry me, my left arm is lying on the ground, I've got holes in my head. The last thing I see is a blade striking my eye sight cleaving my head where the eyes are. Its black but I stile wave around with my right arm feeling bodies collapse by my shear strength. Finally I'm driven into the ground and the last thing I can see is a man standing still and watching the scene, he is blond, bearded and wearing glasses. He's got a leather apron around his waist stained with spots that has the same colour as the chunks people are ripping of my body. I realize that this is my [[maker]]

She is the one that shall provide me the fruits of the tree of knowledge. She can surely give you some answers to whom you are and why our paths have crossed.

"Very well", he says frightened.
I walk back into the courtyard with the eyes of the soldiers in my back. When I turn around [[I can just see the scout and the disguised woman sneaking out the main gate.|courtyard]]

"It's the prisoner! The scouts wife. They're trying to escape. " Immideately we're surrounded by men in arms and the scout and his wife are both driven into the ground and dragged against the prison tower.
I manage to slug a few of them down. I got men's teeth deeply sunk into my clay fists as more and more men are coming. I can no more stand ground, my legs are so full of cuts and holes so they cannot carry me any more.
I offer some resistance but it's pointless, they drag me into the jail tower and throws me into a cell, and this time I won't be able to break out because [[the walls are made out of stone and the doors of iron bars.]]

He waves to an officer beside him, "Show him to the outer gates" and the officer and two soldiers lead the way through the corridors, out on the court yard and out through all three gatehouses before they harschly push me down against the path outside. <<set $hospitalitySoldiers = -5>>I follow the road until I get to a crossing. I think I know the direction against the village and I choose the route accordingly. There are to many people on the road though showing all kinds of reactions seeing me. Some mock me, some flee into the woods, some draw their weapons and finally I choose to avoid the road completely and head for the protecting forest. The forest has become where I feel most at ease, where I feel I belong the most. The animals makes no difference whether I'm a man or monster. Almost the opposite. The don't seem to see me as a threat at all. The deers are cautious but curious. If I stand still birds are landing on my head and shoulders and even a wolf accompanied me for almost an hour walking a couple of meters behind me.
I'm keeping the road in sight and follow its path until I can see [[smoke pillars of the village raising against the night sky.]]
As I walk into the village the faint windows around me lighten up. Brave villagers emerges behind me and follow me as I walk silently against the town square. As I reach the well in the middle of the square I turn around and command them to fetch Victor.
"I'm already here", he says and steps out of the crowd

Pavel and his wife Vasilisa came back a couple of hours ago and told us how you saved them. Pavel has caused us som trouble being forced to run the duke's errands but now he is free and so is his wife.

Before anyone can react I grab Victor and place myself behind him with my arm around his neck. I drag him with me against the closest building with my back against the wall and the crowd in front of us.
"You are outnumbered and have nowhere to go", Viktor says

I'm surrounded by men attcking me with swords, pikes, sticks, fists, axes and more. I strike a few of down but they are to many. I'm driven into the ground being hit over and over again until I [[pass out]].We stand and we fight. With my aid the soldiers cannot opress the villagers the same way as before. We cannot overtake the castle but the Duke cannot overtake the village either. He has to negotiate.
The duke can still claim to protect us against the surrounding dukes, counts and dragons and the village can support the forces, but the duke has to abandon his luxuries and become an equal both in terms of law and assets.
I settle in the village and in time I almost become human. I wear clothes like them, I have hair, my surface and eyes get color. I've met a mate even though ze is the ugliest human in the village. My life is OK.

A man steps out of the crowd. He is blond, wearing beard and glasses. He's got a leather apron around his waist stained with spots that has the same colour as my body. I realize that this is my maker.
We didn't know about this mans quest until recently. He has his workshop outside the village and we found him searching in the woods for something, ... or someone. "
Viktor continues, [["This is Leoš. The man who made you. "]]
Leoš starts to talk.
"I'm a potter, you see. I make ceramics."
He stutters
"I wanted to help. I wanted to make something important, to be something, to make a difference!
But I am week and a coward. I don't dare to challenge when the soldiers come and demand their taxes or when I see them oppress and rape the villagers. I don't dare to raise my hand in the air when Viktor calls out for a rebellion.
Im the one who falls in line, the one who says nothing, the one noone takes any notice of.
[[And then I heard this story..."]]
"A story about a Rabbi Eliyahu of Chełm creating a creature out of matter who he called Golem to perform work for him. I thought this could be my chance. Out of clay I could make someone strong that could stand in my place up against the tyranny.
I traveled to Prague to look for this Rabbi but he has been dead for years. I met with his descendants though and got the chance to examine his old workshop. Without anyone seeing me I stole the formula and brought it home with me.
I wrote the hebrew letters אמ in your forehead which means death. By adding the letter aleph, א, the inscription would change from death to truth and you would come alive. But nothing happened for hours so I went out for a long walk wondering what I've done wrong and when I got back you were gone. "
Viktor looks at me and says.
"Well, in the end it seems you have succeeded. Here it stands and he has proven its loyalty. What now? Will you aid us against the tyrant Duke?"

Furiously I take two steps against the maker. He stumbles and falls to the ground begging for mercy as I grab his hair and drag him up on his feet. With my other hand I grip around his face and squeeze. His skull cracks inside, his eyes pops out of their sockets, blood and brain substance floods out his mouth. I let go and he falls to the ground.
The other villagers has backed off, looks att scene but does nothing to stop you.

I turn around and start walking. Noone attempts to stop me as I head for the outskirts of the village and further into the forest beyond. I don't follow any roads or paths. I want to come as far away from things that are man-made as I possibly can. I walk until I hear no sounds around me other than wind in the tree-tops and birds tweeting and then I stop.

[["No."]]Furiously I push away the guards, I grab all six keys and storm back into the corridor where the cells are. The third one I'm trying opens the lock and I slam the door open. The woman still stare and laugh at me as I drag her up on her feet. With all my weight I drive her light body into the stone wall and her head explodes. I can still hear the echo of her laughter as I hit and hit and hit until there's nothing left of her but a pile of intestines, chrushed bone, skin and flesh.
I turn around and look at the horrified guards watching the scene from the other side of the bars. Blood is flowing out of the cell door and they back off to avoid getting it on their shoes.

<<set $KillPrisoner = 1>>I'm badly hurt and fallen to the ground. There is darkness growing in the edges of my eyesight making the tunnel of vision smaller and smaller.
The last thing I can see is a man standing still and watching me through the bars, he is blond, bearded and wearing glasses. He's got a leather apron around his waist stained with spots that has the same colour as my body. I realize that this is my [[maker]]The kitten bristles, raises its tail and hisses.

I go into the darkness of the cave and don't sit down until it's so dark so I can no longer see where I put down my feet. The moist seems to have a helaing effect on my body.
I lie down and try to rest but I cannot sleep for a long time. I'm afraid to wake up one more time remembering nothing, not knowing anything about where I am and what I am.
Finally i fall asleep and when I wake up again I have no idea for how long I've been in the cave. I remember the day before though, the awakening, the woodcutter, the soldiers.
When I leave the cave the sun is already high and I [[I go down again.]]
