You are near an oceanside town. It is dark outside. In the distance you can see the docks, and the town. You are tired, and hungry. It would be nice to find somewhere to settle down for the night. There are only a few lights on in the town. A single ship is tied up at the docks, flying a black flag with a skull on it.
[[Head towards the town]]
[[Head towards the harbor]]You wander toward the town. No one is on the road at this time of night, and the town sleeps. Perhaps there is an inn. A building down the road looks promising, but as you waddle towards it, a man stumbles out. He staggers, obviously drunk. When he catches sight of you, his eyes widen, and he screams. You flee towards the docks before anyone else appears.
[[Head towards the harbor]] Across the beach you stomp, sometimes in the shallows. The cold salt water feels good on a hot night. The lone ship sits alongside a dock, dark. As you climb up onto the dock, you notice gashes in the ships side, and heavy nicks in the railing. It rests now, but this vessel has seen violence. A plank rests between the dock and the ship. Beyond is the main deck, heavily worn.
[[Board the ship]]The plank is narrow, and your bowed legs nearly step off as you board the ship. It is late, and sleep beckons. A door lies open near the stern, next to which is a pile of old sailcloth.
[[Enter the door]]
[[Inspect the sailcloth]]You walk deeper into the ship. The crew sleeps, snoring loudly, as their hammocks rock in time with the ship. You go past them, and find yourself in a storeroom at the end of the hall. There is food here, but none of it looks particularly edible. You squeeze in between two sacks of grain, curl up, and sleep takes you.
[[Sleep]]The cloth is worn and soft. You nose your way deep into the pile and roll over, ensuring sail is between you and the night’s breeze. Still hungry, you fall asleep.
[[Sleep]]Morning comes. You work your way out of your makeshift bed. Before you are fully untangled, a sailor turns the corner and stops dead in his tracks. Hands quickly rub bleary, bloodshot eyes as his jaw sits open. He flees, yelling for his crewmates. The ship vibrates to the sound of feet on wood, but you see no one. For now.
[[This can't be good]] Hearing the rush of feet ever closer, you shake off the rest of your bedding and scramble across the deck towards the bow of the ship. Sailors rush from the open door, weapons drawn. Cursing and harsh language abound as they rush toward you. They stop in a crescent about 15 feet away, those at the back pushing forward, but the men at the front holding steady. No one seems to want to get too close. A tall man walks towards the front of the pack, white ruffled shirt peeking out from his red coat. He wears a white feather in his wide brimmed red hat, and sports a truly impressive mustache. He raises his arm, and then lets it drop forward.
[[Back up]]The morning sun silhouettes 15 shadows across the deck across from you, as long spears start to reach across the gap. The sailors, egged on by the man in red, poke and prod. One jab lightly slashes across your forearm, but you hardly feel it. Rage builds inside you, but your opponents are many and they have you cornered at the prow of the ship.
[[Rush them]]
[[Backup]]
You let out a mighty roar as you charge towards the men. Grabbing a spear, you crunch it in two pieces, which clatter to the ground as the terrified sailor turns to run. But faced with a wall of drawn swords, you quickly backup, snarling, the men closing in. As you do you notice a shadow flit across the deck of the ship and slip inside the door by the sailcloth. Oddly it does not seem to correspond to anyone on board.
[[Try to fight them off]]You back further and further towards the front of the ship as the spears close in. A few steps and you feel the rail of the ship. You could probably scramble over it into the water below, but if you turn your back now, the sailors will surly rush you. With your back against the wall, you notice there is an extra shadow, unattached to any man. It seems to have split off from the rest, and is making rude gestures at the sailors themselves. Strange.
[[Scramble over the rail]]
[[Try to fight them off]]You pull yourself over the rail, and fall into the water below. Scrambling against the submerged hull of the ship you make your way to the surface. Reaching it, you can hear shouting from the ship above, interspersed with the sound of steel on steel. It seems like there is a significant ammount of chaos on deck. In the water, you swim to the stern of the ship, where above you a large window borders the Captain’s stateroom. Through the rippled glass you can see figures inside, the pirate captain in red and a young boy in green. The boy wields a dagger and is taunting the captain from behind a broad desk, as the captain takes furious swipes with his sword.
[[Who is that?]]Suddenly a flash of green alights high up in the crows nest at the top of the ship’s mast. Your eyesight is poor, but it looks like a young boy. He shouts something down at the assembled pirates, but you don’t catch it. They definitely do, and the one in red turns and charges towards the mast. Sword between his teeth he starts climbing the rigging up towards the crow’s nest. As one the pirates turn to watch their captain. Perhaps this is your chance. You could crawl over the rail, but your eyes focus red with rage on the distracted pirates.
[[Scramble over the rail]]
[[Charge the pirates]] You rush the pirates, grabbing one and ripping his leg clean off. Caught off guard the pirates scatter, one heads towards the doorway into the ship and you charge after him as fast as your stubby legs can carry you. You see the boy in green running into the ship, hotly pursued by the Captain. As the pirate passes through the doorway he trips, and you’re on him immediately, scratching and tearing at his back as you watch the green and red fly through a door into the Captain's stateroom.
[[Follow]]The boy is clearly taunting the captain's inability to get to him as he dances around the desk. Enraged, the captain starts fling objects from the room at his adversary. A candlestick goes flying through the air, smashes through the window, and splashes into the water not far from you. A platter quickly follows, and then, oddly, an alarm clock. It floats in the water a few feet from you for precisely three seconds, then begins to sink beneath the waves.
[[Take the clock]]
[[Do not take the clock]]You eat the clock.
[[Not as tasty as it looks]]You ignore the clock
[[It isn't important]]As you get close to the door a platter comes whirling through, nearly braining you. You see the captain, arm pulled back, ready to whip another object at his young, green clad adversary. He throws, and misses again, this time an alarm clock bounces down the hall, ringing as it goes.
[[Grab the clock]]
[[Do not grab the clock]]It is 9:35. You snatch up the clock and keep moving towards the door of the Captain's stateroom. The voices within are different, one deep and angry, one high-pitched and mocking. The boy is running circles around the desk as the Captain hacks his way after him. As you reach the door, the Captain, back towards you, reaches behind him looking for something else to throw.
[[Grab his hand]]
[[Watch]]You ignore the clock and continue towards the doorway to the Captain's stateroom. The voices within are different, one deep and angry, one high-pitched and mocking. The boy is running circles around the desk as the Captain hacks his way after him. As you reach the door, the Captain, back towards you, reaches behind him looking for something else to throw.
[[Seize his hand]]
[[Do nothing]]Still fighting above, the pirate captain jumps onto the desk and slashes down at the boy. The young man ducks, and with a quick slash of his dagger takes the pirate's hand clean off, sword and all. They go flying out the shattered window, and splash into the ocean.

[[Take the sword]]It is 9:46. Still fighting above, the pirate captain jumps onto the desk and slashes down at the boy. The young man ducks, and with a quick slash of his dagger takes the pirate's hand clean off, sword and all. They go flying out the shattered window, and splash into the ocean.
[[Swim towards the hand]]
[[Swim towards the sword]]You eat the hand.
[[Seems tastier than a clock]]You get to the sword before it has sunk too far into the water, but your hands, unfortunately lacking in opposable thumbs, can do nothing as it falls further into the depths. Looking up, you see the boy in green throw one last taunt at his opponent as he proceeds to fly out the window, and up into the clear blue sky. Alltogether this seems like quite enough excitement for one day.
[[Head back to shore]]With one large bit you eat the hand. It's about time your stomach was satisfied. Looking up, you see the boy in green throw one last taunt at his opponent as he proceeds to fly out the window, and up into the clear blue sky. Alltogether this seems like quite enough excitement for one day.

[[Head back to shore]]It is 10:15. You reach the shore, and ignoring the town, head into the wilderness, done with civilization for today.
[[Good riddance]]It is 10:15. You reach the shore, and ignoring the town, head into the wilderness, done with civilization for today.
[[Good riddance]]You grab his hand in your mouth, and bite down hard. The Captain screams, and falls forward as you sever his hand at the wrist. The boy seems almost as shocked as the Captain, and instead of finishing his opponent off, opens a window, and flies into the sky. You hear the shouts of the crew behind you, and figure he probably has the right idea. With a wild leap you jump through the window, following the boy... and fall down into the ocean below.
[[Head back to shore]]From the doorway you watch as the two trade blows. Suddenly the boy ducks a wild sword swing, and with a quick slice severs the Captain's hand. They both seem surprised, but without missing a beat the boy in green opens a window and flees, flying off into the morning sky. You hear the crew behind you, and follow him out the window. You, however, fall instead of fly, and end up in the ocean.

[[Swim to shore]]Living in the inland jungle, years pass. You live a happy, well-fed life, but you haven't forgotten the day with the pirate captain. Perhaps you will meet again.
