In the summer of 2010, Enbridge's Pipe line #6 burst, causing one of the largest inland spills in U.S. history. The pipeline, which runs across lower Michigan, released over 1 million gallons of oil into Talmadge Creek and Kalamazoo river.
Clean-up efforts will continue in 2019.
[[Enbridge & Detroit]] On April 20, 2010 over 4 million gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico. 11 workers died when the rig exploded and it took 87 days for the spill to be contained.
Oil platforms like the Deepwater Horizon are considered boats not real estate. The Deepwater platform was inside U.S. protected waters and was register with the U.S. but was **not** technically **in the U.S.**
