Re: Star Explorer
"Dear |Name>[Yuri], it's come to our attention that there could be some useful technology on an abandoned Star explorer drifting just outside of Cerulean V. We've heard good things about you from our...sources. Since the ship is in poor condition we will make it worth your while if you would endeavor to search the ship and report your findings back to us. We hope you'll put your engineering skills to good use. - Sa'gitta, Head of Tech Department at Orion."

(set: $Eridanus to false)You take out your blaster feeling pretty smug about your superior technology. You shoot at a slightly curled up panel mentally patting yourself on the back, you're so smart! However the shot makes a small *ding* and bounces back off the panel, you let out a small screech as it narrowly misses you. Nice try.
Next You jet over to the hanger carefully avoiding debris scattered around the ship. There's some loose wiring hanging out and sparking. Perhaps there's still some power left after all. There's a keypad that's attached to the doors lock mechanism, it doesn't require power to open.
It's very worn but even so you notice some numbers appear more faded then others . You try to make a guess at the code. Keypad
(set: $Hanger to true)You jet up to the airlock, it's open just enough for your hands to fit through and push the doors open with some resistance. You pull yourself through and the door slams shut behind you echoing through the ship. It's dark only the rhythmic flickering of exposed wiring cuts through it. Your suits built in flashlight helps brighten things up a little Hall
(set: $Airlock to true)You swipe the message from your visor, taking in the sight of this large star explorer, long outdated and in disrepair. You start to regret agreeing to this job but look for a way in inspite of yourself.
Looking around you see that towards the middle is the ship's hanger, maybe there's a manual unlock on the door maintainence would've used. Further towards the back of the ship you notice an airlock door, it looks like it might've loosened after such a long time, there's something flickering through the small gap. You also think you could easily blast a hole in the hull since it's old and peeling away in places.
What do you do?
Hanger
Airlock
Blast
*click* the locks slide open, good to know security is as poor as it ever was even back when this thing was alive. Do you want to close the door?
Door Close
Door Open
You move out into a corridor and look left to right. To your left you see some space rats flap away from the light but you can just about make out the shape of an open door at the end of your vision.
To your right you see a similar corridor but no nearby door however there's what looks to be an accumulation of water droplets floating around glittering in the light. Something must be leaking somewhere but it's hard to tell with the gravity systems offline.
Where will you go?
Kitchen
Corridor
You hover down the corridor and enter the open door. You're greeted by the sight of long counters, metal cabinets and sinks. The place is a mess but you can assume that you've found an oddly placed Kitchen.

Corridor
You walk out into a dark corridor the only thing you can see is thousands of glittering water droplets all around you. Your light doesn't reveal any obvious cracks in the walls, you begin to hear a faint humming sound. The further you go in the louder it gets.

Playtest 2
A few players felt clever with number choice. Wants to see what happens next.
Water good. Airlock->Right->dog happy.
Define tone.
Picture clarity. More clarity on Intro, who are you? Where are you?
Players reacted positively to dog. Dogs are good.
Player needs more to do. Look not just do.
Several players mentioned immersion breaking language.
More consequence clarity to keypad, ie info or picture showing faded numbers. maybe allow typing, clarify the door consequence.
majority of players chose paths leading to the water either through airlock or hanger while while minority chose kitchen.
Build v2. Removed code choosing and replaced with interactive keypad with 2 solutions. Code 1 now causes no noise Code 2 causes noise.
Airlock no longer leads to dog path.
Named player character Yuri.
Changed quest master to collective, Orion. Rip Yk'var :(, now renamed to Sa'gitta in later passage.
Ship is now named Eridanus.
Simplified some options because coding.
Two paths have been named Vela and Lyka respectively.
Created new true failstate.
