You've just gotten married. Your wedding was last month at the muncipalidad in the middle of town and only your mother and his father showed up to the ceremony. You got married because... You're already awake, you might as well be productive.|Work]] 7 months later you have your first child, Juanita, who is healthy with beautiful brown eyes and curly hair. Though she brings so much joy into your life, you find it's getting harder to put food on the table. Most days your family eats beans and tortillas. You also feel that your husband is disappointed in Juanita. One day he mentions that he wants a boy to come help him in the fields one day. When you have a break, you sweep the house and start srubbing the family's sheets with your sister-in-law. She's easy to talk to and you become instant friends. In the evening, before your husband comes home, your mother-in-law gives you a bunch of the tamales you've been working on together to have for dinner. You're grateful for all that were able to learn and accomplish today. Just before the sun sets, your husband arrives back home and is happy for the delicious dinner after a long day in the fields. The two of you have a relaxing evening together. You wake up a few hours before noon and decide to go to the market. Since you haven't eaten yet, you buy a couple papusas for lunch. However, after this purchase you find that you only have money left to some beans and tortillas. [[The sun begins to set.|Sundown]] In the morning, after your husband leaves, you go visit your sister on the other side of town. You drink only some café de tortilla and eat some eggs before going. You have no plans for lunch or dinner in mind. You have a good time at your sister's and she shares with you some of the fideos she made for lunch. By that time, you realize that you should be getting back to have dinner with your husband. Though sad you can't stay, your sister gives you a bag of beans before you leave. Your husband wasn't able to help to get you some because he came home late from work on Saturday, when he usually gets it for you. But you really don't mind, you've gotten used to your husband's habits and it's nice getting up early to see the sunrise, and then do a little work before the day starts. When you get back your husband has already left after having some café de tortilla with some scrambled eggs you left on the stove before leaving. You spend the day sweeping up the house, scrubbing the laundry in the pila and hanging it up to dry, as the tamales are cooking for dinner. Just before the sun sets, your husband arrives back home and is happy for the delicious dinner after a long day in the fields. The two of you have a relaxing evening together. You get home just before sundown and immediately start to cook the beans. When your husband arrives home, you're still in the process of making dinner. He's exhausted after a long day of work and becomes frustrated that the food's not ready.
