Jeremy flung himself toward the reaper, not sure of what he was trying to accomplish but unwilling to surrender.\n\nHe cannoned into the robed skeleton with all his might. It felt like he was hitting a solid brick wall. He slumped to the floor, winded and dazed, but somehow, not all that hurt.\n\nDO NOT STRUGGLE, BOY. YOU WILL ONLY CAUSE YOURSELF MORE ANGUISH.\n\nJeremy cluthced at the reaper's robes, trying to pull himself up. The reaper's thin hand reached down and took hold of his arm, hauling him to his feet.\n\n"I can't go yet...I have to find...Cindy."\n\nAS I TOLD YOU, THE GIRL IS NO LONGER YOUR CONCERN.\n\n"But...but I love her."\n\nThe reaper drew back his scythe.\n\nTHEN CARRY THAT LOVE...TO THE GRAVE.\n\nThe scythe sliced through the air, and Jeremy felt nothing else.\n\n.................................................................\n\nJeremy is dead. ETERNITY AWAITS.\n\nJeremy turned and walked alongside him, and the world began to fade away into a beautiful brilliance.\n\nHe suddenly threw his head back and shouted,\n\n"I love you!"\n\n"I love you too." Cindy whispered, but he heard it. In a panic, Jeremy flailed his fists at the oncoming specters. They felt like cold sludge as his knuckles met their shapeless faces, but they fell back with an inhuman howl as he belted one after another.\n\nHe only wished it was Tony's face he was pummeling.\n\nThe shadows slithered across the floor and up the walls, crawling over the ceiling to drop down on his head. He twisted and spun, trying to yank them off.\n\nHe felt their slimey fingers tighten around his throat.\n\n"Joooooiiiiiiinnnn uuuuuuuusssssss." They hissed into his ear. "Yyyyooouuuu beeeelllooooonnngg wiiiiithh uuuuuuuussssss."\n\n"Like hell I do!" Jeremy shouted and jerked them away, stomping them under his heel.\n\nThe shadows finally fled, leaving the Music Room empty. Jeremy looked around.\n\n"Cindy! Cindy are you here?!" Nothing. Jeremy slowly opened his eyes. Dizzy, he got to his feet. A cold breeze blew past him as he looked up to find himself in the North hallway of the school. Halloween decorations covered every wall and locker face.\n\nHe blinked, trying to see in the dim light. Everything looked strange, faded, hazy. He looked down at his Superman costume and saw the symbol was ripped.\n\n"W-what happened?" He rubbed his head. A sudden pain reminded him of the altercation he'd just had with Tony Loomis. Tony was being an even bigger jerk than usual to Cindy and he'd finally had enough.\n\nThe last thing he remembered was Tony's fist.\n\n"That asshole." Jeremy growled. "When I find him I'll..."\n\nA scream pierced the air. Jeremy's blood ran cold. Jeremy ran back down into the main hallway. The Halloween decorations were staring at him, grinning and whispering. Jeremy slammed the door in the shadows' shapeless faces and ran back down the hall. The hallway suddenly looked longer than he remembered, and darker, and was that...fog? Why was there fog? What kind of crazy prank was this?\n\nHe looked at the decorations on the walls. Jeremy ran toward the Gym. The Halloween Bash had transformed the gym into a forest of fake dead trees, a partial cemetery, and a gallery of meandering monstrous forms trying in vain to look half-way competant at dancing.\n\nJeremy's been having a fun enough time just enjoying the atmosphere, but Cindy had wanted to get a little...alone time away from the other students and teachers.\n\nThen Tony had found them, and everything after that had seemed to go straight to...\n\nJeremy stumbled back as he flung the doors to the gym open and searing heat poored out, like the discharge of a blast furnace.\n\nHe picked himself up and dared to look into the former gymnasium, now transformed into something right out of Dante's Inferno.\n\nMolten lava covered the floor, and sharp peaks of black rock jutted out from it, reaching to the ceiling that now lay festoon with a legion of bat-like gargoyles.\n\nJets of flame shot from the rivers of magma and writhing human forms were chained to the black rocks just above them. They howled in pain and torment.\n\nBut one cry echoed above the rest.\n\n"Jeremy!"\n\n"Cindy?" Jeremy peered through the smoke and haze to see a small island at the center of the gym with a huge, mishapen black throne. \n\nAnd there was Cindy, still in her devil costume, though it was ripped and torn. A thick collar around her neck was chained to the crooked throne.\n\n"Cindy!" He cried. "I'm coming!" He glanced around quickly, trying see how he could get over to her. Jeremy found himself running down the hallway where he'd first woken up. The hall didn't seem so dark and creepy now, although things did look a little washed out.\n\nAnd there were people. He heaved a sigh of relief at the sight of teachers and students in the halls again.\n\nThey rushed past him without a word, but he didn't really mind. All he wanted right now was to get to Cindy. He'd gone through hell for her tonight, and it was about time he was rewarded for it.\n\nHe reached a small cluster of teachers, a couple of whom were dressed as police officers. A pair of medics were there too. Not very creative, as far as Halloween costumes go, he thought.\n\n"Jeremy!" He heard Cindy cry out and he pushed his way toward the front of the crowd.\n\n"Cindy! Cindy! It's me, I'm...here." He stopped and looked at where Cindy as kneeling on the floor. Her face was streaked with tears. One of the teachers had her arm around her.\n\nNext to her on the floor was a figure covered with a white sheet. A bloodstained knife lay beside it.\n\n"Damn shame." One of the policemen said. "Don't kids these days got any better sense than to kill each other?"\n\nThe numbness returned to Jeremy, as he realized who must be under that sheet.\n\nAnother cop looked at some papers on a clipboard.\n\n"Says here the perp has a history of violent behavior. Typical school bully background."\n\n"Well now he can try being the toughest guy in lock-up. Good luck with that."\n\nJeremy turned around and saw another officer escorting Tony Loomis, now bound in handcuffs, down the adjacent hallway and toward the front of the school.\n\n"It's all my fault." Cindy sobbed. "All my fault."\n\n"There there, dear." The teacher said, trying to comfort her. "You didn't know this would happen."\n\n"If we hadn't left the party, if I hadn't...if I hadn't made him..." Cindy buried her face in her hands again.\n\nBOY.\n\nThe voice startled him, and he turned to see a tall figure in a black robe.\n\n"Oh, it's you." Jeremy felt surprisingly calm. "I guess I should've expected you."\n\nThe reaper drew closer, though he carried a scythe, he did not seem in a hurry to use it.\n\nYOU'VE BEEN RUNNING FOR SOME TIME. I FEARED YOU MIGHT GET YOURSELF LOST.\n\nThe reaper's voice was soft and gentle, almost comforting. He held out a skeletal hand to Jeremy.\n\nYOUR TIME IS OVER, MY BOY. WE MUST GO NOW.\n\nJeremy shut his eyes, allowing one last tear to roll down his cheek. The sensation faded quickly.\n\n"Okay, just...let me do one thing." He turned back to Cindy and passed through ther various bodies between him and her. He knelt down beside her and ran an immaterial hand through her hair.\n\n"Cindy." He whispered, and her sobbing quieted. "It's alright. I forgive you." Cindy stopped crying and looked up, right into his face. He pulled free of their graps and run back to the door.\n\n"Nnnnnoooooo." The shadows said. "Llllloooooossssssttt. Jeremy took off to the left. The hallway seemed to grow longer and darker as he went. The lurid faces on the walls were steadily getting more ghastly.\n\nBOY.\n\nJeremy halted in his tracks. Before him, standing in the darkest corner of the hall, was a tall, gaunt figure, swath in a hooded black robe.\n\nThe figure raised its hooded head, allowing just enough of the dim light to show its face...was not a face at all. \n\nA dark gray skull peered out from the hood, and a skeletal hand gripped a long, sharp scythe at its side.\n\n"No way." FAREWELL, BOY.\n\nThe reaper vanished from sight and Jeremy knelt beside Cindy once more.\n\n"I'll always be with you Cindy. Jeremy nimbly hopped on one of the rocks and felt it shudder beneath him.\n\nHe took another step, then another, slowly making progress.\n\n"Watch out!" Cindy cried and a huge wave of lava rose up beside him.\n\nJeremy picked up the pace but the molten wave gained on him. In desperation, he flung himself toward the next rock on the path and the fiery tsunami crashed into the molten lake behind him.\n\n"Whew." Jeremy whiped his brow. Jeremy ran toward the Music Room. He and Cindy had been hiding there from the rest of the students and staff at the Halloween Bash, hoping to get a little alone time.\n\nHad Tony cornered her there? \n\n"If he touches her, he's a dead man." Jeremy fumed.\n\nHe reached the door to the Music Room and flung the door open.\n\nJeremy stopped in his tracks. The Music Room's walls were covered in black sludge running from ceiling to floor and floor to ceiling in patterns that made no sense.\n\n"What the..."\n\nDozens of shadowy figures turned to look at him with dozens of glowing, yellow eyes. "Hey! Hey bat face!" Jeremy called up to the rafters The gargoyles turned their crimson eyes upon him and began to hiss.\n\n"Hey! Your mother was a flying squirrel!" One of the sinister creatures unfurled its wings, twisting its head around to look at him properly.\n\n"Come on! Come and get me you wanna-be vanmpire reject!"\n\nThe gargoyle hiss loudly and took flight, diving right at him.\n\n"That's it, ugly. Come to Papa." Jeremy grabbed the length of chain dangling next to him and whipped it up in front of his face just as the gargoyle bared its fangs. The wicked incisors came down on the chain and Jeremy quickly wrapped it around the beast's neck, hopping on its back and kicking it in the side.\n\n"Yee haw! Let's fly!" The creature took flight, and Jeremy tugged hard on the chain, twisting its head toward the island. \n\nThe othe gargoyles took flight and closed in on him.\n\n"This is my stop." He said and dove off the back of the gargoyle just as its brethren fell upon it and tore it to shreds.\n\nJeremy tumbled as he landed on the island, coming to rest at the base of the black throne, right next to Cindy.\n\n"Jeremy!" She cried and threw her arms around him. She kissed him and hugged him tight, and he did the same.\n\n"Cindy, oh thank God you're okay. What happened?" He looked at her face. "The last thing I remembered was Tony hitting me and then I heard you screaming. How did...all this happen?"\n\n"I...I don't..." Cindy suddenly fell silent and looked past him.\n\nThe lava had gone dark. The black peaks vanished, as did the gargoyles. All that was left was the two of them, and the throne.\n\nSomeone started clapping.\n\n"Bravo, Jeremy." A deep, but familiar voice said.\n\nJeremy spun around and saw a huge, red demon standing just behind him. Scally skin, huge red horns and massive red wings didn't distract him from the monster's smirking face, a face he'd wanted to punch almost every day he'd looked at it.\n\n"Tony?"\n\n"Yep." The chain lit up red hot before melting into a puddle, though Cindy's collar remained.\n\nJeremy helped her to her feet and looked around for a way out.\n\n"So, where were you planning on going?" Tony grinned at him.\n\n"Anywhere but here." The two walked away from Tony, into the darkness.\n\nSuddenly, Cindy was yanked backwards and dragged across the blackened floor back towards the throne. The chain reappeared.\n\n"Let me go!" Cindy screamed but Tony paid no heed.\n\n"Hate to break it to you, but Cindy's mine now. Jeremy ran down the hall, following the terrible noise. The art wing of the school was this way. They'd spent all yesterday afternoon putting these up with half a dozen other students.\n\nOf course, he'd only been thinking about Cindy, just like he was right now.\n\nHe skidded to a halt as he reached the crossway. But what the hell happened then? What did you do?"\n\n"Just what you said, man. Hell happened." Tony chuckled.\n\n"Why? Why us?"\n\n"Because you're nice." Tony's smile faded. "Both of you. His smile returned and he knelt down to take hold of Cindy's face.\n\n"Get your hands off her!" Jeremy shouted but flames lept up from the floor, keeping him from walking forward.\n\n"Your little sweetheart here, she's got a bit of a dark side to her." He squeezed Cindy's cheeks, making her whimper. "You didn't think she wore this outfit tonight for no reason, did you?"\n\nHe ran his claws across her midriff, tearing more of the devil costume away.\n\n"She wants to be the bad girl. "Tell him what you really wanted. What you've wanted all along. Tell him what you want him to do to you, you little harlot."\n\nJeremy had heard enough. It didn't matter what she'd meant by it. Jeremy grabbed one of the nearby chains dangling from the black spires of rock. A quick jump carried him to the side of the peak and he hauled himself up.\n\n"Just like the rope climb." He muttered.\n\nAll too quickly he came to the end of the chain, bringing him face to face with one of the howling damned tied to the rock.\n\nAs he looked at it, he recognized the face of Coach Huffer, the gym teacher. Jeremy bolted to the right side of the hall as fast as he could. This way lead to the outdoor balcony that overlooked the hill the school was built on. Most of the science teachers brought the students out here a few times a year for astronomy lessons.\n\nJeremy burst through the doors and out onto the balcony. The moon hung impossibly low and large in the sky and there was no mistaking its dark, orange hue.\n\nJeremy reached the railing and looked over the edge. His eyes went wide with horror.\n\nWhere once he could look out and see the athletic field, now there was nothing but an endless graveyard, reaching as far as the eye could see. Worn and crumbling headstones sat crookedly in wet, swampy earth that undulated as if something were alive beneath it.\n\nAs he watched, Jeremy saw hundreds of decayed hands burst forth from under the boiling dirt, dragging rotted corpses from their shallow graves. The shambling cadavers lurched to their feet and looked up at him.\n\nThey started moving toward the hill, and Jeremy felt a surge of panic. \n\n[[Back Inside!|Life]]\n\n[[Stand and Fight!|Crazy]]
Jeremy slowly sta down on the empty black throne. Cindy was nowhere to be seen, but as he felt the smooth black surface beneath him, he suddenly ceased to care so much.\n\nHe felt confident now, strong, powerful. He had defeated his hated enemy, conquered the darkness, and now he was the master.\n\nThe darkness around him began to swirl and heat up. The floor erupted into lava once more. The darkness crumbled away, revealing not the distorted confines of the school gym, but the endless fiery caverns of the damned.\n\nJeremy felt himself growing larger, and looked to see crimson scales covering his massive arms and legs, two large horns appeared over his brow and massive wings drapped either side of the throne.\n\nHe chuckled to himself, as a horde of gargoyles swarmed the air above him.\n\n"I should find Cindy." He said. "I bet she'd love it here."\n\n...................................................................\n\nJeremy has become a Hell Prince. Jeremy vaulted over the flames rising from the floor and threw himself right in Tony's face. The act caught the demon off guard and the pair tumbled into the stygian blackness surrounding the throne.\n\nJeremy landed on top of Tony and immediately started wailing away on him. Years of frustration and pent up rage came roaring out of Jeremy as he drove his fists into Tony's nose, teeth and eyes.\n\nAny moment, Jeremy expected the demon to hurl him away or set him on fire, but he didn't care. He would get as many licks in as he could before that happened. Surprisingly, the demon seemed totally at a loss. His limbs flailed limply at his sides, unable to defend himself. \n\nJeremy gave him one final punch to the nose and then clamped his hands around the demon's throat. The squirming hellspawn tugged weakly at his hands, but couldn't pry them away. His blackened eyes bulged as he gasped for breath.\n\n"You're nothing, you've always been nothing." Jeremy said and slowly rose to his feet, hauling Tony up with him until the demon's cloven hooves dangled above the floor.\n\n"You'll never bother us again." His grip tightened and the demon's yellow eyes rolled back in his head. His body suddenly evaporated into a crimson mist and then vanished.\n\nJeremy stood panting, then realized he wasn't out of breath. He felt perfectly calm, no longer enraged, no longer afraid.\n\nHe heard Cindy scream.\n\n"What? Oh no, Cindy!"\n\n[[Go to her|Good End]]\n\n[[Sit on the throne|Bad End]]\n\n<<stopsound "NotSo.mp3">>\n\n<<playsound "KickAss.mp3">>\n\n<<unloopsound "KickAss.mp3">>\n\n<<fadeoutsound "KickAss.mp3">>
"You son of a...!" Jeremy ran at Tony, drawing his fist back to deliver the knockout punch he'd always wanted to give, but always knew better.\n\nAll bets were off now and Jeremy charged forward with every intention of knocking the smug look right off Tony's stupid face.\n\n"Don't be a moron." Tony said.\n\nA swift backhand from the demon knocked him off his feet. He slid across the blackened floor, past the throne and into the outer darkness.\n\n"You can't take me. You never had the guts before and you don't have the chops now. So let's just sit and talk, like civilized classmates."\n\nJeremy slowly rose from the floor and looked at Tony.\n\n[[What the hell, man?|Talk]]\n\n[[We're getting out of here.|Leave]]
