"We're gonna be so famous after this," David says as he nudges Ty's shoulder.
You all laugh as you walk through the dark empty field to the abandoned house. Your laughter is the only sound you can hear. It seems as though you can see the night get darker and darker as you get closer.
As you approach the house, the broken windows and boarded doors become clearer as your flashlight begins to illuminate them.
----------------------------------------
You shudder as a cold air penetrates your heavy winter jacket.
"You ready to become internet stars?" you ask.
"Hell yeah!" David and Ty say in unison.
"The GoPros on?" ty asks.
David and you nod. You all move forward, making your way to the front of the house.
----
[[Try to break in through the door.]]

}On the door a name is carved into the wood: Nina.
"Whoa! Creepy, isn't?" Ty asks.
Though it's night, and though the lights are off, the house is light enough that you don't need your flashlight.
---
You now stand in what was once a large living room. Pictures of people you presume to have owned the house cover most of the walls. A large fireplace encases the wall to your left. A grand seating area fills the middle.
Although dust and grim cover everything, nothing seems broken.
"Should we look around?" David asks you.
----
[["No, continue on."]]
[["Yeah."]]''"Ouch!"'' you yell as you look down to find your arm cut.
"You good?" Ty asks. Him and David still stand behind you, waiting for their turn to enter.
"Glass cut me." You back out from the window, your feet once again stand on grass. "Don't think it's safe to go this way."
----
[[Break through the door.->Try to break in through the door.]]The living room opens into a large kitchen area with a dining room to the right.
"What was that?" David whispers as he turns around. He looks around the room, his eyes darting everywhere.
"What was what?" Ty asks.
You don't hear anything. In fact, the whole house is silent. There aren't even crickets or any noises outside.
David looks at you both. "Someone just giggled--a kid. You didn't hear it?"
You and Ty both shake your heads.
David relaxes slightly. "Okay. Which room should we explore next?"
----
[[Explore Kitchen.]]
[[Explore Dining Room.]]
[[Continue On.]][[Explore Bookcases.]]
[[Inspect Pictures.]]
[[Explore Sidetables.]]
----
[[Continue->"No, continue on."]] Your friends stand back as you walk to the bookcases. You find mostly dusty books with knick-knacks and sculptures woven between.
"Find anything?" Ty asks.
----
[["Not yet."]]
[["Nothing's here."]]
"Come on over guys," you say.
David and Ty join you as you look at the pictures on the wall across from the fireplace.
Most of them are paintings of older people dressed in gowns and suits. They're all covered in at least two layers of grim--except for one.
---
A picture of a young girl, no older than seven or nine, hangs in the middle of the wall. Her brown wavy hair is styled in two elegant pigtails. She doesn't smile, but she doesn't seem mad either--just there.
The glass covering the picture along with the golden, coiled frame are all free of dust. It looks as though someone had wiped it off, but you can't be sure.
"Who do you think she was?" David asks.
You give a closer look and find a nameplate attached to the bottom of the frame.
//Nina// it reads.
---
"Wasn't that the named scratched on the door?" you ask.
----
[[Back->"Yeah."]]A small ripped piece of paper lays in the draw.
//My mommy left so long ago, but I'm still waiting for her to come home.//
---
[[Back.->"Yeah."]]You continue inspecting the bookcase.
---
Just as you're about to turn around, you find a piece of paper sticking out of an obsolete dictionary.
---
[[Pick the paper up.]]You turn away from the bookcases empty-handed.
---
[[Return to exploring.->"Yeah."]]
[[Stop exploring and continue.->"No, continue on."]]
//Who am I?//
//I've been here for awhile.//
//My parents have left, but I stay still.//
//It's only me.//
//My teddy bear and me.//
----
[[Back->"Yeah."]]//Drip.//
//Drip.//
//Drip.//
A slow, steady stream of water drips out of the tap in the kitchen sink.
The kitchen seems big enough for a large family to enjoy. The once white cabinets are now almost completely brown. The cabinets cover the back wall and the left wall, making an L-shape. A rusty metal cart sits in the middle.
//Drip.//
//Drip.//
//Drip.//
"Ty can you please turn that faucet off? That's driving me crazy," David says.
Ty walks to the sink and pushes the handle down as far as it will go. The water stops dripping.
"Thank you," David says.
---
//Hahaha.//
----
"What was that?" you ask your friends as a soft laugh fills your ears.
Ty shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know what you guys are hearing," he says.
"I didn't hear anything either that time," David says.
---
The cold air that penetrated your jacket outside has now come in. You shudder.
//Drip.//
//Drip.//
//Drip.//
"Let's get out of here."
---
[[Explore Dining Room.]]
[[Continue On.]]As you step into the dining room, you find a large wooden table fit for ten people. Some chairs are turned over, some are upright, ready for someone to sit down.
Other than the table and a light hanging above it, nothing else is in the room.
"Doesn't look like we're gonna find anything in here," Ty says.
---
[[Explore Kitchen.]]
[[Continue On.]] You return to the front door and stand in front of an alluring, yet sinister staircase.
"Why can't we see anything up there? Ty says as you stare up at the darkness.
The stairs seem to go from light wooden brown, to darker, to darker, to nothing.
"Guys...I feel like we should maybe go back." David says.
"What do you want to do?" Ty asks you.
---
[[Leave the House.]]
[[Continue.]]
As you leave the house, you are once again greeted by the darkness of the night sky. You turn your GoPro off and look back at the house.
"Well, at least we got some footage for our video," Ty says. "Maybe people will still watch it."
---
Weeks later you check YouTube. As soon as you got home you edited the footage and uploaded your exploration of //Ghost House//.
Unfortunately, only ten people have watched, and only half of them liked it. Maybe if you would've stayed longer, you could've gotten better footage.
Oh well, at least no one got hurt...
---
[[Play Again.|Beginning]]"No way," you say to your friends, "We need to get more footage for the video."
David sighs, but still follows as you and Ty climb the staircase.
Each floorboard creaks as you walk up, making you reconsider your decision for a moment. You shake away the thought, but hold onto the railing extra tight. Just in case, right?
---
Upstairs you come to a small landing with three doors. The space is small as there's barely enough room for the three of you to stand.
You and your friends stand, shoulder to shoulder, facing the doors.
---
The door to the left has what looks to be scratch marks on it. The door in the middle seems innocent enough, except for the light which peeks out through the bottom.
"How is there a light on? This house has been abandoned for over a decade," David says.
You and him both turn to look at each other.
And, finally, the door to the right. This is the only door that doesn't have any ominous signs. It just looks like a door.
"Well," David says, "What should we do?"
---
[["Let's listen to each door."]]
You're the first to open the door with scratches, but David and Ty are right behind you.
You turn your flashlight on. The illumination that was downstairs is far from gone.
As the door swings open and your light shines inside, you're relieved to see what's in front of you.
---
The beige paint has begun to peel away, revealing a dull concrete underneath. The once beautifully polished wooden floorboards now are filled with scuffs and scratches.
The room looks completely ransacked. There's no furniture, no pictures, no toys, nothing. A closet door is swung open, but no clothes are inside. You can tell it must've been a bedroom from the darked marks where the bedframe sat.
"This is kinda sad, isn't?" Ty asks.
---
[["This was really someone's home once."]]
[[It is gross.]][[Listen to door with scratches.]]
[[Listen to door with light.]]
[[Listen to seemingly normal door.]]You all gather in front of the door with scratches. All at once, you lean in, waiting to hear what's inside.
//Help me.// A voice, which sounds to come from a child, says.
"Did you hear that?" David asks.
You all glance at each other, a new paleness filling your face.
"Yeah," you say.
Ty and David move back, leaving you closest to the door. Your feet stay frozen in their place.
---
[[Open the door.]]
[[Listen to another door.->"Let's listen to each door."]]You gather around the wooden door. Even with your ear pressed against it, you hear nothing.
"Why's a light on if no one's in there?" David asks.
Ty shrugs his shoulders. "Should we go in?" he asks.
---
[[Go in.]]
[[Listen to another door.->"Let's listen to each door."]]You prepare to enter the room, but find the door is locked.
----
[[Try to kick it open.]]
[[Try to pick the lock.]]
[[Listen to another door.->"Let's listen to each door."]]"Yeah," David says.
"Should we go downstairs now?" Ty asks.
---
"Yeah, I think I'm done with this," you say, point on your head at your GoPro.
---
[[Go Downstairs.]]Rumbling begins to surround the three of you.
"Is it an earthquake?" David asks as he tries to stay on his feet.
"I think it's just in here," Ty says. "Look."
You peer into the landing to find nothing's happening out there.
---
//''Boom''//
The floor falls through. Your eyes try to focus but nothing is where it once was. Everything is black.
---
As your vision comes back you see the rubble. You now lay in a pile of boards and debris in the living room. Above, all you can see are the four walls that contained the room.
"You guys okay?" David yells from somewhere.
----
[["I think so."]]This time David is the first to step inside. You and Ty stand back, waiting for him to give the okay.
The door is cracked, but you can't see inside the room yet.
"Is it good?" Ty asks.
"I think so," David says.
Ty opens the door further, but neither of you step in. You can now see that this is another bedroom. This one is similar to the other, but it seems far more lived in.
There's an actual bed, albeit torn and dusty. There's dirty clothes on the floor. And, there's toys scattered around. The dirty, chipped pink paint has small handprints all over it.
---
You see David staring towards the right, standing cold and rigid. You're unable to see what he's looking at.
---
[["What is it?"]]He doesn't answer.
You cautiously enter, Ty behind you, but David screams.
Although you catch a glimpse of the ghostly figure of a little girl, you're unable to get to David in time before he's pulled under the floor.
"David!" Ty yells out to no one.
---
No one's there now. No David. No girl. Just you and Ty.
Only his flashlight remains on the floor.
---
[[Listen to another door.->"Let's listen to each door."]]
[[Rush downstairs.]]Without saying anything you and Ty run downstairs. As you approach the front door, you are met with a ghostly little girl.
---
//Hello.// The girl says.
"Ahhh," Ty yells. You're startled.
//I'm Nina.//
"What do you want?" you ask as you and Ty stand pinned to the back wall.
//To play.// She holds out a brown teddy bear.
"You're the one who took our friend," Ty says.
----
[["What are you doing here?"]]
[["Let us go!"]]You kick and kick but the door won't budge.
---
[[Back->"Let's listen to each door."]]"Here," Ty says as he hands you a pin.
"I'm not a professional lock picker, you know," you tell him.
"Just try it. You're the smartest one here."
----
You wriggle the pin around in the lock. It takes a few minutes, but you eventually unlock it.
---
[[Enter.]]You open the door and find what looks like a bedroom. The walls look freshly painted with a light purple paint. The floor is covered in a soft carpet. There's a bed made up with purple sheets and pillows. Toys lay all over the floor.
Above the bed, big wooden letters spell out 'Nina'.
"Nina must be the girl in the pictures," you say.
"She still lives here?" Ty asks.
----
You hear the door shut behind you. You jump as you turn around to see a ghostly girl floating in front of the door.
---
[["Nina?"]]
As you and David find each other and get your bearings, you realize you haven't heard Ty.
"Where's Ty?" you ask Ty.
Frantically, you and David dig through the debris.
"I don't see him anywhere," David says.
---
A ghostly figure of a little girl floats above you.
//He's with me.// She says in a whisper.
Your whole body stays frozen as you look at what's above you.
"Who are you?" David asks.
//I'm Nina. This is my home and you're not welcome.//
"Give us our friend back," you say.
//Should've been nicer.// //Hahaha.//
---
Your vision goes black.
As you open your eyes again you find yourself outside of the house. The house looks just as it did before you entered. You and David glance at each other.
[[Continue]]It's been years since you explored the house.
You and David still talk but nothing is the same.
---
Ty is still missing.
[[Play Again->Beginning]]
Without saying anything you all walk downstairs. You look up at the front door to see a ghostly figure of a little girl.
---
//Hello.// The girl says.
"Ahhh," David yells. You all are startled.
//I'm Nina.//
"What do you want?" you ask.
//To play.// She holds out a brown teddy bear.
[["We just want to leave, Nina."]]//Play first, then you leave.//
---
"Where'd you come from?" you ask.
//Here.//
"This house? It was yours?" Ty asks.
//My mommy and I lived here, but she hurt me.//
"Where is she?" you ask.
//Gone. I've been here all by myself for so long.//
---
She doesn't look dangerous--just sad.
Cautiously, you walk towards the girl and hold your hand out. She puts the teddy bear in your hand.
---
[[Next]]After playing with Nina for a little, she lets all of you go.
---
Not only did you have an awesome adventure, but the video you posted to YouTube of your exploration went viral!
Congratulations.

[[Play Again->Beginning]] //I've been stuck here since my mommy hurt me. This is our house.//
"Where's your mommy now?" Ty asks.
//Gone.//
You stand frozen, not sure what to say.
"What do you want from us?" Ty asks her as he tenses even more.
//I want you to be my friends.//
----
[["We can be your friends."]]The girl floats towards you.
You try to move back but the wall stops you. There's no where to go.
"Please, please, please don't come any closer," Ty cries out. "What do we do?"
---
[[Throw something at the girl.]]The girl smiles. She floats toward you and holds her bear out for you to take.
---
[[Next.]]After playing with Nina, you and Ty are able to leave. Unfortunately, she never gave David back.
---
He's still missing.
---
[[Play Again->Beginning]] You grab a book off of a shelf to your left. You throw it as hard as you can at the girl, but it goes right through her.
Her eyes turn red.
//I want to play,// she screams. She lunges toward you.
---
[[Move away.]]
[[Stay still.]]You jump left, out of the way of the girl. She screeches, going for Ty instead. She wraps her arms around him as he yells out.
Before you know it, she drags him down under the floor.
You're the only one left.
---
[[Leave the house.]]The girl grabs you and begins to drag you down. You try to fight, but it's no use. Although she's small, her power is much greater than yours. You cannot fight.
---
[[Next ]]You have managed to get out, but unfortunately, your friends have not. No one has seen them since.
---
[[Play Again->Beginning]] You have not made it out. You and David are trapped in an endless void.
----
[[Play Again->Beginning]] //You know me?// Through the ghostly haze you notice her smile.
"We saw your picture," you say.
//No one visits my house anymore. Can you play with me?//
She holds a teddy bear out for you to hold.
"I'm not sure...I mean...I guess," you say.
Slowly, you grab it.
Now, you can fully see the light in her eyes and the smile on her face.
//Let's play!//
