You wake up in a darkened room on a stiff cot. You don't remember anything about who you are, where you are, or what you were doing before waking in this room. This room is all you know. It's sparse, the only piece of furniture is the cot and there is no doorway. The only semblance of an entryway is in the corner, where a ladder extends up from a hole in the floor and continues through a hole in the ceiling. You peer into the hole in the floor and the hole in the ceiling but see only blackness. Regardless, you decide to climb the ladder since there's nothing else to do. Do you go [[up]] or [[down]]?You climb for quite some time, and eventually bang your head against what feels like wood. You reach up and feel a trap door covering the ladder's path. You run your hands over the wood and feel a bit of cold metal in the center of the trapdoor. It is a keyhole. Go [[back down]].You climb down the ladder for a while. Eventually your feet find purchase on solid ground, and you realize you've come to a small alcove. As you try and gain a sense of space, you realize there is another hole in the floor with a ladder going down. Do you go [[down further]], [[search the alcove more thoroughly]], or go [[back up]]? After climbing down the ladder for quite some time, your foot does not catch a rung, and you realize the ladder has come to an end, but the hole you're climbing down extends on into the darkness. Do you [[risk dropping down]] or climb [[back up]]? You run your hands over the floor of an alcove, and in the corner you feel the touch of cold metal. It is a key. Do you go [[back up the ladder]] or [[down the hole further]]?You make it back to the room with the stiff cot. Do you go [[up]] or [[down]]? You fall to your death. Back to [[Beginning]]. You make it back to your original room with the stiff cot. Do you go [[up further]] or [[down again]]?After climbing down the ladder for quite some time, your foot does not catch a rung, and you realize the ladder has come to an end, but the hole you're climbing down extends on into the darkness. Do you [[risk dropping down]] or climb [[back up the ladder]]? You climb for quite some time, and eventually bang your head against what feels like wood. You reach up and feel a trap door covering the ladder's path. You run your hands over the wood and feel a bit of cold metal in the center of the trapdoor. It is a keyhole. [[Use the key on the keyhole]]. You go back down to the alcove and down further to the ladder's end, but find nothing new of interest. Go [[back up the ladder]]. You make it back to the room with the stiff cot. Do you want to go [[up]] or [[down]]? You insert the key into the keyhole and unlock the trap door. Above the trap door is another small alcove. You feel around and find a coiled rope. You start heading [[back down the ladder]].You make it back to the room with the stiff cot. You [[continue down the ladder]].You make it all the way to where the ladder ends and the hole continues downwards. [[Tie the rope to the ladder]].You test the strength of the rope and think it can hold your weight. You begin to climb down the rope carefully so as to not slip and fall. After what feels like an eternity, with your arms aching, you [[reach the bottom]]. You reach the bottom, and a passageway lit by a single torch stretches on in front of you. You follow the passageway and come to two doors at the end. One is plain wood, flimsy and damp, rotting in the bottom right corner, with a plain iron door handle. The other is cherry inset with a gold trim and a gold handle.
Do you choose the [[plain wood]] door or the [[gold]] door? You reach a door with an inscription above it which reads
"What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?"

[[A Cheetah]]You come to a room with three identical doors to the one you just walked through.
Walk through the door on the [[left]].
Walk through the door on the [[right]].
Walk through the door [[straight ahead]]. You pop back into the room with the plain wood door and the gold trim door.
[[plain wood]] or [[gold]]? You progress past the flimsy wooden door and come to another riddle.
There are three doors ahead, numbered one, two and three. There are no markings except for the numbers on the door. Which do you pick?

[[three]]You are hit by a blinding flash of light as your eyes are exposed to sunshine for the first time in a long time. You look behind you and notice a tall concrete tower behind you, your former prison. You scan around you and notice nobody near you, but see a highway with cars driving on it in the distance.
[[Run towards the highway]].
You make it to the highway and furiously wave down a car. A woman pulls over and listens to your story, before offering you a ride to the nearest town, some five miles away.
[[Get in the car with the woman]].She drives you to the town, which you recognize as your memory begins to come back.
Congratulations, you've escaped!
