Alright, it's the [[first day]] of recruitment! Here we go!!
Oh my goodness there are so [[many]]!
You start to obsess over every detail- the symbols, the colors, the mascots, the philantrhopies, the open mottos.
You look at the pictures, and try to envision yourself among those sorority women.
After all this research, do you understand what it takes to be Greek?
[[Yes]]
[[No]]
You start to go through your closet. You envision so many outfits.
You think you can't go wrong with a classic LBD.

Round 1. House and Values.
You wake up at 6 a.m. to do your hair and make up. The day starts bright and early, as you have 20 minutes to get an overview of each house!
House 1.
You smile. The sister laughs at all your jokes. Things feel like they are running [[smoothly.]]

You start making lists, comparing the values. You will walk into recruitment knowing everything about every chapter. Are you ready?
[[Yes]]
There still are some missing [[details->Start planning the perfect look to make a great first impression]]
But then you start to second-guess your outfit. The perfectionist in you needs everything to be perfect.
You start to panic. Will they like my style? Is it cool enough? Original enough? Preppy enough? Expensive enough?
You have one shot to impress.
Nothing in your closet seems [[worthy enough]] anymore.
You head to the mall and try on tons of dresses. Anxiety starts to take over as you're spending hours trying to find a dress... you think this moment is going to be as important as your wedding dress.
Finally, you find a dress. It's a perfectly adorable Kate Spade frock and you love the way it flatters your torso. You accept its $500 price tag, attributing that it will all be worth it in the [[end->Nothing]]
House 6.
It starts to feel like you've been telling the same story about that one time at camp a dozen times, and that the only thing these girls keep asking you is superficial things like your favorite tv or your major. Is this what Greek Life is really like?
How much longer is this day going to [[last]]?
You've made it through the first day!
Before you can go home and relax, it's time to rank your [[top ten]] sororities before another busy day [[tomorrow.]]
The girls around you are candidly chattering about the AMAZING conversations they had with people, and the chapters they liked and didn't like, all the while bashing the low tier chapters.
You start to question if there is something wrong with your small talk skills. Girl flirting is hard.
Even though you kind of liked the low tier sorority, you don't want to be looked down upon, and drop it from your list. You'll see what houses you get invited back to [[tomorrow.]]
PHILANTHROPY ROUND.
You meet up with the all the other potential new members at the student center to get your schedule for the day.
You're ready for what the day brings you as each house will tell you about their philanthropic involvements.
You get back your houses. You were invited back to six out of ten possible houses. You're a little frustrated that you were cut from so many houses, especially the one you fell in love with during your research period.
This makes you worry that you're not cut out for Greek life. The girls obviously didn't like you if you got cut so early. How will you go about the rest of [[round 2]]?
These six houses saw something in you, even if half of them you didn't even rank. [[You continue on.]]
You realize that this Greek Life is not for you. You can't take the critiscm. "Was I too superficial?" you ask yourself?
You go to your [[Rho Gamma]] to get advice from her.
The first house that invited you back isn't that bad. They are [[lower tier]], but you had a nice time, and really connected with their philanthropy. You like that they raise money, particpate in direct service and have strong interaction with other chapters.
Before you know it, the 30 minutes are up and you're rushing to your [[next party.]]
Your Rho Gamma tries to help you understand that its ok to not get invited back to every house. She encourages you to have an open mind. Let's try this [[again->You continue on.]] you think.
Her words don't help. You decide to [[drop out]] of recruitment.
You return home, frustrated, overwhelmed, and saddened.
You had wanted to go greek for such a long time, but it didn't work out. Maybe you'll try again next year.
You hard time getting that campus image of them being the "uncool" chapter out of your head. After being unpopular in high school, all you want is acceptance among your new college peers.
"This is it!" you think. "This is the house I want to be in. I love this house. The girls are awesome, I felt so comfortable here. I really feel like I belong."
You leave the house feeling, [[elated.]]
You go to the rest of your houses during philanthropy round, and think everything is going fine.
Each house seems interesting, the girls are genuine enough. You start to consider where you might be calling the rest of your college days, home.
You rank your favorite houses, and go home, ready for what [[round three]] will bring.
Welcome to sisterhood round!
How are you feeling today?
[[Ready to go]]
[[Hesitant to continue->Rho Gamma]]
You're halfway done! It's time for the conversations to get deeper, and for you to see the friendships that sororities can form.
You're going to three houses today. Again, that lower tier house invited you back, but your favorite house is still there, along with a random sorority you don't have the many opinions about. Although three chapters dropped you, you're feeling confident today.
You're pleasant at the houses, trying to play your cards right, but you get [[over enthusiastic]] at your favorite house.
At least that's why you they didn't invite you back for Preference round, or was it because you weren't pretty enough.
This loss hurts, so much that tears well into your eyes. You will not be in your favorite sorority.
What do you do?
[[Talk to your Rho Gamma about dropping]]
[[Wipe away the tears, put on a smile, and continue on with pref]]
Your Rho Gamma tries to console you and talks about the merits of the other two houses. "They see something in you," she says. "They want you."
You know the chance of your favorite house is gone, but you still really want to be affilliated with a Greek organization. [[You go to your two preference parties->Wipe away the tears, put on a smile, and continue on with pref]]
Her words don't help. You decide to [[drop out]] of recruitment.
After pref, it's time to rank the two sororites you visited.
Which one do you want a bid from?
[[The low-tier one]]
[[The random one that kept inviting you back where you didn't have any connections with the girls.]]
You don't want either of them and decide to [[drop out]] after going through the whole intensive process.
You come to realize that the low tier sorority could be your home away from home. The girls are nice and you feel comfortable here.
Even though it's not the most popular chapter on campus, it's part of a nationally recognized and strong network with endless opportunities.
On bid day, you show up with an open mind, and meet who will become your new best friends.
For sake of appearances, you go to the chapter where you had shallow conversations.
You immediately realize on bid day that you don't fit in.
You realize you're shallow yourself for joining this sorority over the other one where you knew the girls actually liked you, but was less popular on campus.
They also haze you. You hate it, and you drop.
