Good Cop, Bad Cop?

You just graduated from highschool in the small town of [[Anniston, Alabama.]] After graduating you find yourself facing the first real dilemna of adulthood and deciding what you should do with your life. Anniston, Alabama is the most violent city in the United States. The amount of violent crimes in 2016 were nearly nine times the United States violent crime rate. It is a town of just over 21,000 people and has a poverty rate of 32%. [[Restart]]

You have entered into a daunting challenge of getting through the police academy in one of the toughest cities in America, but with some hard work and a little luck you might just be able to get through the academy. You now have the difficult choice of how to prepare for the academy. Your “life” of crime was short lived. You started out with the simple carjacking here and there and eventually graduated to home burglaries. You studied hard for each and every test that the academy sent your way and aced them with flying colors. Although your physical capabilities were slightly behind the other trainees you still managed to pass and graduate the police academy. You spent every waking minute that you could in the gym, on the firing range, and developing your physical strengths. You excelled in every physical challenge that the academy threw at you and were top of the class on all physical tests. Although you were more middle of the pack on the written tests you still managed to do well enough to graduate from the police academy. You thought your fairly average physical strength and mental capabilities could get you through the academy so you decided to blow the whole thing off and spend most of your time partying with your friends. After graduating the police academy you are put on the force. Because of the shortage of police officers in the area and due to your high scores throughout the academy you are thrown into the violent crimes unit. You are tasked with investigating violent crimes throughout the town. You are also assigned a partner, a veteran officer, who has been on the force for 15 years. How do you wish to greet your partner? Your first assignment for you and your partner has just come in. You will be investigating a murder that took place at a known meth cook house on the outskirts of town. You and your partner head to your police cruiser to go have a look. Your partner is not a huge fan of this approach. He sees it as a sign of disrespect and thinks you are childish. Anyhow, you arrive at the house and notice that the patrolling officers have already started to tape off the perimeter. Around 5 am this morning the neighbor called in saying that she heard a verbal altercation followed by a series of gunshots. Your partner stops to chat with one of the patrolling officers and get a better sense for what is going on here. You arrive at the house and notice that the patrolling officers have already started to tape off the perimeter. You decide that there is no need to sit around and chit-chat and that work needs to get done here. You enter the home and begin to look around. You notice a larger white male sitting hunched over in a La-Z-Boy recliner. He is covered in tattoos from one of the white supremacist gangs in the area. You stop with your partner to get more information about what happened at the scene. He informs you that it looks like a drug deal gone bad. After recieving this information you and your partner both [[enter the house.]] (set:$honor to it + 25) Honor Level:$honor Money: $$money

Your partner walks in just as you are taking a closer look at the body. You both approach the man in the recliner and notice that he has two large bullet holes in his abdomen. It looks exactly like you thought, a drug deal gone wrong. [[Search the rest of the house]] Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You head to search the rest of the house. [[Search the kitchen]] [[Search the bedroom]] Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You head toward the small kitchen and notice that the cabinets have all been gone through and there is a drip coming from a pipe under the kitchen sink. You take a closer look at the pipe and notice that it has been unscrewed from one side. You reach your hand into the pipe and feel something. You pull it out and its a large brick of cash rapped in saran wrap. You look around and notice that no one is in the house except for you. [[Slip the cash into your coat pocket]] [[Leave the cash and go to find your partner]] Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You decide to search the bedroom. Although it is very messy there does not seem to be anything out of the ordinary here. [[Search the kitchen]] [[Investigate the body closer]] Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You speak to your partner and both of you agree that there is nothing out of the ordinary here (except for the fat stack of cash that he doesn't know about). Yep nothing to see here. You both chalk it up as a drug deal gone bad. Just as you're ruling the case as nothing but a normal day in Anniston you get a call on the radio. Across town the local bank is being held up by a group of goons demanding a million dollars. [[Speed to the bank!!]] Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You return to the living room to grab your partner. You inform him about the cash that you found. You both head back the kitchen to take a look. He comends you on letting him know and informs you that he has worked with several dirty cops before and that it never turned out good for anyone. Just as he is telling you this you get a call over your radio. Across town the local bank is being held up by a group of goons demanding a million dollars. You both hop in the car and speed to the bank. You are the first ones on the scene and you have to decide with your partner what approach you should take. [[Go in guns blazing and take out the robbers]] [[Wait for backup to arrive]] [[Try to talk the robbers into releasing the hostages]] Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You decide to take your chances and that there is not enough time to wait for backup to arrive. You head into the bank with your partner. Although you do end up shooting and taking out the criminals, your partner also gets hit in the shootout. Although he is going to make it, it is kind of your fault that he got shot so he's probably going to hold that against you. Oh well though, you shake it off and [[clock out.]] (set:$honor to it - 25) Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You decide that the best chance for everyone is to hold up outside of the bank and wait for backup to arrive. However, every second you wait becomes another second that the robbers could harm a hostage. Once backup arrives it is already too late. One hostage has been killed. SWAT arrives and heads into the building taking out the robbers. You did the best you could, but things still didn't go your way. Knowing that you are trained well in hostage negotiation you grab a megaphone and begin to converse with the robbers inside holding the hostages. You talk to them and buy yourselves enough time for SWAT to get there and arrest the criminals. [[Good police work!]] (set:$honor to it + 25) Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You are commended for your excellent work! After much praise from your superiors its time to [[clock out.]] Honor level: $honor Money: $$money

You decide to head home and put the money in your safe. You do so without a hitch. However, after exiting your house you notice that you are surrounded by a group of police officers. Little did you know another police officer was in the house at the time you took the money and saw you steal it from the scene. The police were waiting to see whether you would turn it in or not. Sorry, looks like your time as a crooked cop ended on your first day. GAME OVER!!

You figure now is the best time to start your own side hustle and who better to get into the drug trade. No one would ever suspect a cop to be selling drugs [[right?]] (set:$honor to it -100) (set:$money to +10000) Honor level: $honor Money $$money

As your money begins to stack up your honor amongst your fellow officers starts to go down. They begin to notice that you are able to buy a new sports car and a new house and a boat. Flashing your money like that has its consequences. After a while you were put under investigation where they found out you had been selling drugs on the side of your police work. Sorry, but your days as a bad cop are over. GAME OVER!!
