<div class="center">You live on the third floor of an apartment building. Your roommate, Hedi, asks if you would like to go to the bars with her & her boyfriend, Al. You agree.You ask if Al has any friends who want to come along. He does. Hedi & you go to the pregame at Al's house. The friend of Al's doesn't acknowledge you and doesn't speak to you. The only reason you know his name is because Hedi told you, it is Joe. The four of you leave for the bar. Once at the bar you get a vodka sprite for you, & sit down at the table that the boys had gotten. [[You start small talk with Joe]] [[You wait for Joe to start the conversation]] </div>

<div class="center">Joe is not interested in talking to you. He gives you one worded answers and doesn't ask any questions in return. [[You go take shots]] [[You walk around the bar with Hedi]] </div>

<div class="center">You chat with Hedi but soon her & Al are flirting with each other.Leaving a perfect time for Joe to start a conversation with you. He did not take the opportunity. You are left feeling uneasy. You felt good leaving your apartment but for some reason Joe was being comepletely rude to you. [[Confront him]] [[You go take shots]] </div>

<div class="center">You feel good after the shots but order another vodka sprite to hold on too. You and Hedi go back to the table that the boys were at. Hedi suddenly has a great idea to take pictures and asks if you could take a picture of her and Al. [[You take the picture]] </div>

<div class="center">You end up walking around for about 10 minutes until you both agree [[to go take shots|You go take shots]] of fireball.</div>

<div class="center">Joe denies being rude but instantly turns his body and starts talking to your Al again. [[Go to the bathroom]] [[You go take shots]] </div>

<div class="center">You look in the bathroom mirror and appreciate yourself for a second. You look good. Your hair is still curly and your makeup is still on. You go back out to the bar and decide to get yourself a shot. [[Go to the table|You go take shots]] </div>

<div class="center">You hear the squeal of approval from Hedi and then hear her saying something about you taking a picture with Joe. You take a picture with him. He is taller than you around 6 foot, and looks to weigh around 200 pounds. After separating and sitting back down at the table you try again to make small talk and still Joe doesn't make an effort to try back. [[You tell Hedi that you want to head home]] [[You tell yourself, screw him, im going to find a man who will talk to me]] </div>

<div class="center">Hedi tells you that you guys will leave once Al wants to go back to their apartment. You tell yourself that you can wait, and you don't need to go home because of a silly boy not paying attention to you. <div class="center">You walk around the bar and find a cute boy, Will, he buys you another vodka sprite. You guys are in a full conversation when you feel a pat on your back. It was Hedi telling you that it was time to go home. You knew that you needed to walk back to Al's house so he could drive you and Hedi back to your apartment. You decide to ask Will if he wants to walk back with you, he agrees. On the walk, you exchange each others numbers and tell him that you feel too drunk to go home with anyone tonight. You see in front of you that Hedi is already in the running car with Al. You tell Will bye and [[enter the car]].</div>

<div class="center">As you enter the car,you realize just how drunk you are and everything starts spinning You remember seeing Al driving the car, Hedi in the passenger seat, and Joe sitting next to you in the backseat. You also remember questioning to yourself why Joe was coming back to your apartment, when he lives closer to Al. When you get back to your apartment, you only see bits and pieces of everything going on. Al is trying to get you out of his car and asks Joe for help. They both help you out of the car and Joe stabilizes you on his arm and starts walking towards your apartment building. You remember Joe asking you why you were flirting with a black guy, in reference to Will, who walked you to the car. This is when the night ends, <div class="aliens">[[for you]].</div> </div>

<div class="center">You sit up the next morning, in your bed, alone. You are sitting on top of all of your blankets. You are completely naked except one piece of clothing, your underwear is on one your legs. Without thinking about it, you grab a towel and get into the shower, as you were running late for work. You are in the shower and start questioning the night before. [[You ask yourself what you last remembered]] [[You ask yourself why you were naked and question why you only had one leg in your underwear]] </div>

<div class="center">You realize that something did not seem right. You could not remember coming up the stairs of your apartment nor could you remember anything else. You go back to the question of why you were naked in the first place. [[You felt sore in the vaginal region- like you had just had sex]] [[You forget the vaginal pain and finish your shower]] </div>

<div class="center">You wanted to know what happened and how you got to your bed. You wanted to know how you became naked, and you wanted to know why it felt like you had had sex the night before. [[Wake up Hedi and ask her if she knows anything]] [[You forget the vaginal pain and finish your shower]] </div>

<div class="center">Just like any workout, you become sore afterwards, although, you don't remember this workout. While in the shower, you feel around yourself, you notice a burning sensation. [[You need to wake up Hedi and ask her what happened the night before|Wake up Hedi and ask her if she knows anything]] </div>

<div class="center">You tell yourself that you need to get to work and not to worry about waking up naked. [[Go to work]] </div>

<div class="center">Hedi tells you that Al drove Joe home early in the morning. She tells you some of the missing pieces from the night before. Hedi tells you that she helped get you into your room, she also tells you that she tried taking off your jeans but couldn't get them off. Hedi tells you that she left you in your room, on your bed, fully clothed with the lights off and door closed. [[Call Al, ask him if he knows anything]] [[Go to work]] </div>

<div class="center">Al does not answer. You are stuck with the feeling of the unknown. [[You realise that, if you did have sex the night before, you did not use protection from pregnancy nor STDs]] </div>

<div class="center">You try and make it to work but have a mental break down on the way there. You know something happened the night before but you can't remember it. You go back to your apartment and call your [[mom]].</div>

<div class="center">The first question your mom asks you is, "well how much did you drink" [[Admit to your mom that you had a decent amount of drinks]] </div>

<div class="center">Your mom tells you that because you are under the age of drinking and that if you were blackout drunk that she did not think anything horrible could have happened. She told you that you shouldn't have drank that much. You agreed with her and decided to not do anything about this. Hedi, thought differently. She did think something happened and that I should talk to someone. [[You try calling Al to see if he has any information|Call Al, ask him if he knows anything]] </div>

<div class="center">Hedi takes you to the student health center to get Plan B. She convinces you that it would be best to talk to someone about what happened. [[You take the Plan B but don't talk to anyone]] [[You agree that you should talk to someone]] </div>

<div class="center">You are left feeling empty and alone. You are back at your apartment. Hedi is trying to talk to you but you just need to be by yourself. [[You go on living your life]] </div>

<div class="center">You talk to a CARE coordinator at the school health center. She tells you this: <div class="big">"You should be able to get as drunk as you want, and not have someone rape you."</div> She ends up advising you and Hedi to go to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital to get a SANE kit done. [[Go to hospital]] [[Go home]] </div>

<div class="center">You got to the hospital around 3:00pm and then transferred to a different room and told to wait until the SANE nurse comes and gets you. Once the nurse returns, you are transferred to another room where you empty your clothes into an evidence bag. You get your hair combed, swabbed from your mouth, picked the skin under your nails, and took blood samples. You go through your entire medical history with the nurse. You are then given a head to toe examination which includes pictures of any bruises, or possible evidence, which for you, the nurse needed to take pictures inside your vagina. You decide for right now, not to process the SANE kit. [[Go home]] </div>

<div class="center">You go to the hospital.The first question they ask you is if you wanted your SANE kit processed by the police and if so the police would come and question you. <div class="center">You are seated in the police station in a gray room at a circular table. It was almost 10PM,You repeat what you know happened from the night before to the detective. He asks you to identify Joe. You do. He asks you if you want to press charges. You do. You ask what happens next, the detective tells you that they won't get the SANE kit back for about a year and that the criminal processes could take months or years. He tells you to expect a call from the DA in Lawrence. [[6 months pass]] [[1 year passes]] </div>

<div class="center">Nothing. No word from anyone. You call to make sure they have everything to press charges. They have everything. You just have to wait, they said. [[6 more months pass|1 year passes]] </div>

<div class="center">You are going to a wedding. It is summer. You are having a good day. Until you hear the phone ring. [[Pick up phone]] </div>

<div class="center">On a beautiful day you get the news. The DA believes there isn't enough evidence for a criminal case. And that if you wanted to proceed then you would have to get your own lawyer. [[You go on living your life]] </div>

<div class="center">This is the only choice you have because, life doesn't stop when you are dealing with a sexual assault. You are <div class="big">expected</div>to get over it. You are <div class="big">expected</div>to not care.
