<<set $examine = 0>>Daniel Crelourn's footsteps echoed back at him as he and seven other survivors walked along the abandoned road. Trees lined either side of them with grey skies above, it seemed as if nothing had changed the past few hours that they'd been walking.\n\nThe group kept going, with only small bits of conversation to be heard as they walked. There wasn't much to talk about, their home, people who they loved... Everything lie in ruin behind them. \n\nFor a while, the old Motor Inn had felt like home, they'd been there for nearly three months. Bandits had always been a problem, but they weren't really an actual danger until a month ago. They started demanding supplies, half of whatever they got from going out of runs into the city. Medicine, food, ammo, everything. Their leader, Jack, had refused to make the deal...\n\nAlmost half of their group had been killed, including Jack. Daniel himself had been lucky, an arrow hit him in the leg, but that was all. Now, it was just more annoying than actually painful.\n\nHe didn't talk to anyone, just kept [[walking|Road Hub]]... They had to get somewhere, eventually.
<<if $coward is "yes">>"So, what was that back there with Molly? To afraid to go look for supplies?" "I'm so sorry... I can't even begin to imagine how you feel. But, we're all here for you."\n\nShe looked at him gratefully. Even though it did nothing to change what was done, it helped to know that people were there for you. "Thanks."\n\n[[(Leave)|AnnaEnd2]]
Walking into the next room, Daniel saw a king sized bed, probably the man and his wife had slept here. There was a painting of a small rural town over the bed, and two little bedstands on either side. \n\nBesides that, there wasn't much else, and Daniel left the room.\n\nThe other doorway in the kitchen actually led up a flight of stairs. After turning on his lgihter again so he could see, Daniel started to go [[up|CabinUpstairs]].
Daniel decided to stay and look around for a bit. Maybe he could find more... or maybe he could see why this man had kileld himself.\n\nOn the bookshelf, there were children's books. Dr. Seuss... Cat in the Hat. He wondered where the other two were, his wife and daughter. He must have lost them somewhere else, maybe out in the woods hunting.\n\nOr maybe they didn't see all of this, what happened after the Turn.\n\nThere were drawings on one wall, done in crayon. Every child did that at some point he figured, and they were cute and charming before, now it was just depressing, seeing how far they'd fallen.\n\nAfter looking around for a bit, Daniel decided to go back [[down|LivingRoom2]]. He hadn't found anything else, and there wasn't anything there for him to stay there for.
<<set $MTA = "yes">>Everyone else was ahead of Daniel, talkingabout something. Molly, Theo, and Aaron. And Theo's dog, Boateng.\n\nMolly had come from Savannah with Anna, a place called Crawford. They'd come to the Motor Inn a couple months ago. She had been their main scavenger ever since she joined them, climbing all around the city with her climbing axe, she'd gone through areas that Daniel could have sword were picked clean and come back with a full pack of supplies. Kind of reminded Daniel of a superhero or something with her red hoodie jumping from rooftop to rooftop.\n\nFunnily enough, Aaron also had a climbing axe like Molly's, but he was just a kid. Still, he went on scavenging missions with Molly most of the time. He'd mostly got the climbing around thing down, but killing walkers was something else entirely. He got freaked out around them, unlike Molly who took them out like it was nothing. He was a little cowardly, but still plenty helpful. \n\nTheo was a big guy, pretty agressive too. Daniel didn't actually know too much about him, besides that he had come form Atlanta. They didn't talk too much. Come to think of it, nodoby talked much with Theo. Probably because he looked like a big, angry giant.<<set $examine = $examine + 1>>\n\n<<if $treeline is "no">>The [[treeline]] seemed to be closing in on the the group as they walked along the road.<<endif>> <<if $AnE is "no">>Behind him, Daniel heard [[Anna and Elizabeth]] talking.<<endif>> <<if $MTA is "no">>Almost everyone else was [[up ahead]], talking about something or other. They'd already decided yesterday not to stop for any of these small dirt roads, they wouldn't accomplish much if they kept stopping to check out every single one.\n\nMolly answered. "It's already getting late, and we're low on supplies. We figured that we could just set up camp here, meanwhile, Aaron, Theo and I will go check out what's down this path, you know, since we're stopping anyway."\n\nTrevor immediatly had to question her, "Why do you get to say where we should stop for camp, who declar-"\n\n"Calm down, We haven't decided yet, I was just suggesting it," she said, irritated.\n\n"I think it's a good idea, but maybe you should take someone else with you, just in case," Liz suggested.\n\nNo one, aside form Trevor, thought it would be a bad plan, there was just the question of who else should go.\n\n[["I'll go."|Dirt Path]]\n[["We also need people to protect the camp."|Camp]]\n[["..."|CampSilent]]
A Walking Dead Fan Fiction
The room was pretty small. There was a very small bed, and an area rug in front of it. The book shelf immediatly across. It looked liek a child lived her, a small shelf next to the bed had dolls on it, and the pillow and blanket on the bed were pink. Must have been his daughters room...\n\nAt one end of the room was a closest, and it was also where the man had killed himself. Blood and small rotting chunks of flesh all over the floor and on the walls, a shotgun lie on the ground. Looking at the body, Daniel could clearly see that the guy had shot himself.\n\nThe closest door was closed, and Daniel went to [[open|weapons]] it.

The fire had been built just off the road, and she jabbed two forked sticks into the ground either side of the fire. Laying the cans on the ground, she opened them with a knife, and then stabbed little holes into the opened, still connected lids. The third stick was thin enough that she could hang the four cans on it throguh the holes she made, and the other two were tall enough that when she set the third stick balanced on them, the cans were right at the top of the fire. "Yeah, sure," Aaron said. Daniel turned the lighter back on and lead the way into one of the rooms.\n\nFrom what they could see, the next room looked like a living room of sorts, with a couch and a recliner. There was another winodw that Aaron puleld the curtains back on letting more light into the room.\n\nThe place looked like it was probably pretty cozy at one point, with an area rug, a crocheted mural on the wall opposite the one with the window, along with several pillows and balnkets on the couch. A picture on a small table in the corner of the room showed a man with presumably his wife and daughter out infront of the cabin. Probably all dead now.\n\nThere was also an oil lamp on the table that Aaron set about trying to get to work so that they'd have some light once it got darker outside.\n\nDaniel explored a little more in the room and found a fireplace, it has some kindling in it, but no logs... Strange.\n\nWhile Aaron worked on the lamp, Daniel decided to move onto the [[next room.|Gear]]

Daniel opened the closest, which juding by the pad lock on the ground, had been locked up at some point.\n\nSure enough, guns and ammo filled it. [[Molly]] was looking out the windows, checking for walkers probably. She was always on guard, guess it was hard for her to just relax, act like there was no danger. Daniel didn't know much about her past, in Crawford. He assumed the only person who really knew was Anna, and she was quiet about most things, even before the attack.\n\n[[Aaron]] sat in a chair clsoe to the fire, staring into it. Aaron had joined them once Daniel had already been a part of the group for a few months. He was in the city on his own, climbing around, avoiding walkers, scavenging for food. They saw him on a run once, and had talked to him. Daniel hadn't been there, it was Molly who had recruited him.\n\nAaron really looked up to Molly. Both of them, jumping from rooftop to rooftop in the city. Even their clothes, Molly's pink hoodie and Aaron's blue one. It was a little silly honestly.

They probably wouldn't be cooked very well, but it was smart.\n\nDaniel sat by the [[fire]] with everyone else.<<endif>>
"Maybe. We're surrounded by death, it's tragic, horrible, but it's not going to stop anytime soon. I think that maybe, evntually she'll be okay. The pain might not go away, but she'll learn to deal with it. We all have to learn to do that at some time or another, deal with the pain."\n\n"Yeah, you're probably right. Before she could say anything, Trevor spoke up.\n\n"I'll go then, better than doing nothing."\n\n"Looks like we've got our group," Theo said, walking off with his dog Boateng before waiting for anyone else. They all quickly followed, leaving the rest of them to set up camp.\n\n[[Larry]] quickly started setting up a small tent that he had tucked away in his own pack. Daniel had been given one to keep in his [[backpack]] after they went on the run as well. [[Elizabeth]] was talking to [[Anna]], Daniel didn't hear all of what she said from where he was, but thought he heard her say something about "firewood".
Daniel decided to see how Anna was doing. She had drawn a knife and was keeping watch on the treeline, looking out for walkers. She stopped when she saw him though, but she didn't saw anything.\n\n[["Hello."|HelloAn2]]\n[[(Walk Away)|AnnaEndNoTalk]]
<<set $treeline = "yes">>Daniel moved a little closer to the edge of the woods. There were a lot of trees and vegetation around here, no way that any walkers could sneak up on them. Daniel reached into the inside pocket of his jacket and got out his lighter. turning it on, they could see inside the room. It was a small kitchen area, with wooden counters and cabinets above and below them, there was also a sink and a wood burning stove, but that was about it.\n\nOver the sink, there were some curtains that Molly quickly pulled open, letting in the light form outside, although that would only last for maybe an hour. With the curtains open, Daniel turned his lighter off for a second. There were two exits from the small kitchen area, both had no doors and were open, but they couldn't see inside.\n\nBoateng, who had been mostly quiet for most of the journey there, barked once and started heading to one of the doorways, but Theo quickly grabbed his collar and stopped him.\n\n"Boateng and I will stay outside and keep watch," he said, drawing his pistol from it's holster. "Make sure none of those undead motherfuckers get in here."\n\n"Great," Molly said, she then turned to Aaron and Daniel. "Why don't you two explore the rest of the cabin. He brought the blade down quickly, brining a wet smacking noise as the blade sunk into the dead man's skull, ending his facade of life.\n\nDaniel pulled the blade out, ready for another, but none came.\n\nsheathing the blade once more, he went over to the bed. There was a window above it, set into the roof, and he opened a screen that had been blocking what little light was left outside. He could see the [[room|CabinUpstairs2]] now.
"You're wrong. I meant what I said, someone should stay behind and protect the group. Think about it, no walkers for a whole day now. They're bound to show up at some point, and I didn't want to leave just Larry here to protect you."\n\nShe thought about it for a second. "Okay, so... Maybe I was a little quick to judge. Sorry."<<set $coward = "explained">>\n\n"No problem."\n\n"I think we've got enough anyway, let's head back," she said as she started walking back to the road. Daniel [[followed|LizEnd]].

It opened easily. They waited to see if any walkers would come. After maybe a minute, when no walkers showed up, they all went [[inside.|Cabin]]

"Sure," Daniel said, turning the lighter back on and walking with Aaron into the next room.\n\nFrom what they could see, the next room looked like a living room of sorts, with a couch and a recliner.
<<set $AnE = "yes">>Anna Correa had found them a couple months back along with Molly, they were both from Savvanah, a community had been built there called Crawford. Neither of them talked about it much, but Molly made it clear that everyone there deserved what they got whenever someone tried to talk to her about it.\n\nAnna was in her thirties, and had always been pretty quiet. She seemed to jsut have a sad look about her. She had a daughter, a little girl. She wasn't even a year old.\n\nShe died in the attack. Daniel wasn't quite sure how still, but she was dead, and Anna was heartbroken. The first day she had done nothing but cry, not talking to anyone. Now, she'd stopped crying at least, but Daniel doubted if she was any better, if she would ever get over it.\n\nElizabeth had been with the group almost since the beginning, even since before Daniel had found them. Liz was pretty tiny, she wore glasses, and usually had her long wavy blond hair in a ponytail. Not exactly the image of a hardened survivor, but only a week or so after Daniel joined the group, she had saved his life when a walker caught him while they were out scouting. She was smart, knew a lot about electronics and machinery, and a quick learning. Jack was a surgeon, and he had been teaching Liz a few things in case he wasn't around when someone got injured. Now that he was gone, she was pretty much the only one among them who knew anything about medicine.<<set $examine = $examine + 1>>\n\n<<if $treeline is "no">>The [[treeline]] seemed to be closing in on the the group as they walked along the road.<<endif>> <<if $MTA is "no">>Almost everyone else was [[up ahead]], talking about something or other. Daniel came back down the stairs and went back to the living room area. Molly and Aaron were there already, and a fire had been lit. It was quite cozy now, but it felt so out of place against what Daniel had just seen.\n\n"Hey, what'd you guys find?" Daniel asked, entering the room.\n\nMolly answered first, "I found a bunch of food, mostly canned stuff, but there was some dried meat. Looks like whoever was here did some hunting."\n\n"Yeah, I found a bunch of guns, a bow, too."\n\nThere was some camping gear in the bedroom closet," Aaron said. "Tents and stuff, better than what we have."\n\n"That's great. Looks like it was worth it coming here."\n\n"We decided to stay the night," Molly informed him, "figured the guys back at camp could handle themselves." Daniel took his pack with the ammo now in it off, and dropped the rifle, shotgun, and bow near it. He also took off the machete and sheathe, and his gun with the holster. There were no more walkers, and Theo was still on watch.\n\n[[(next)|LivingRoomHub]]
Daniel walked a little further into the darkness, reaching for whatever was moving. It turnedo ut that it was curtains, and Daniel pulled them back, letting the light from outside, what little of it was left, in.\n\nIt was a small kitchen area, with wooden counters and cabinets above and below them, there was also a sink and a wood burning stove, but that was about it.
