You finally get the door on the abandoned facility unlocked and pry it open. To your amazement the hangar sized room is nearly empty and the lights don't seem to work, all except one light in the middle of the building.
The light shines down on something too far away to make out.
[[Approach the light]] As you enter the facility, the shape under the light comes into clearer view. It's a basic folding card table with two chairs. The one on your side of the table is empty, the chair on the other side has a humanoid robot sitting there, slumped over on the table as if asleep.
[[Sit in the empty chair]]
[[Turn, go and try to forget.]] You decide on a three step plan. Turn, go and forget.
Turning goes very well for you, as does leaving. Forgetting, however, is not so simple. You spend years wondering about the facility that you were never able to find again. Who owned the building? What purpose did the robot have? Did anyone know you were there?
These thoughts haunt you. A constant repeating echo in the back of your head that would randomly get louder through out the various events in your life.
THE ENDYou pull the empty chair back and the sound of the metal chair on the floor screeches through out the cavernous facility like a waking demon.
You lower yourself into the chair to find it surprisingly comfortable. You eye the robot and notice it's hands crossed in front of it's "sleeping" head.
The hand on top of the other has a large red button.
[[Press the red button]]
[[Look at the other hand]] You lift the hand with the red button, revealing the other hand has a green button on top of it.
[[Press the green button]]
[[Press the red button]] You carefully place your hand on top of the robots hands and push down the red button. Eventually there's a satisfying click, a brief moment of silence and then the sound of cooling fans and clicking hard drives emit from the machine in front of you.
The robot springs upright. Sitting straight up with it's hands resting politely in front of it on the table. It's head shakes a bit as the lights in it's blue eyes fluctuate, adjusting. Then, it sits there looking directly at you...motionless.
[[Say hello]] You press the green button carefully. There's a satisfying click and you hear the sounds of a machine powering up. Fans active, hard drives click and there's faint movement from the robot before you.
The robot's chair slides back as it's legs straighten. It stands with it's upper half bends down over the table giving you a clear view of it's back.
A large panel on it's back opens and a series of tubes pour forth from it. You stare it for about a half a second before thick green gas pump out of each covering the immediate area.
Before it all goes dark, your last thoughts are how odd it is that is smells like cinnamon.
THE ENDYou look at the robot curiously. Moving about and shifting as you watch the robot follow your eyes the whole time.
You decide to great the machine.
"Um...hello?"
The robot's head cocks as if processing.
"G-g-g-greetings! The g-g-g-game is Rock, Paper, and of course, Scissors."
The robot makes a fist and holds it over the table.
[[Choose "Rock"]]
[[Choose "Paper"]]
[[Choose "Scissors"]]
[[Ask the robot what's happening]] You look down at the fist then back up at the robot. You can't handle your curiousity.
"The game is what now? What's happening?"
The robot also looks down at it's fist, then back up at you. It cocks it's head and then in a blur of movement the fist over the table moves, clocking you in the face hard before returning to it's position over the table.
"The g-g-game is Rock, Paper, and of course, Scissors."
[[Ask again]]
[[Choose "Rock"]]
[[Choose "Paper"]]
[[Choose "Scissors"]] You rub the spot on your face where the robot hit you.
"Ow! What was that for? What's going on and what are you?"
The robot looked down at it's fist and then back up at you, its fist twitches slightly and you raise your hands in defense. Nothing happens.
You peek through your fingers and see the robot just sitting there calmly. You sigh and bring your hands down again. That's the moment where the robot punches you once more.
Then its hand returns to its default position. The robot ready to play and you with a lesson firmly learned.
[[Choose "Rock"]]
[[Choose "Paper"]]
[[Choose "Scissors"]]
Deciding that you're going to go with rock you make a fist and move it in time with the robot.
Then your hands thrust out. Yours, the closed fist representing "rock". The robot's hand, a flat hand representing "paper".
The robot takes the flat hand and slaps it down on your closed fist, pinning it to the table. The robot's eyes turn from blue to yellow and with a suddenly twitch an unnecessary amount of volts pump through the robot's hand into your arm leaving you with a half second smell of a monte crisco before it all goes black.
THE ENDYou move your fist out over the table moving it in time with the robot as it shakes it's fist.
Eventually you both move your hands out in front of you. Both the hands of you and the robot end up flat, fingers out, in front of you representave of "paper".
The robot looks at you with it's piercing blue eyes.
"Congratulations. It's a draw. Again."
It's fist goes out over the table once more.
[[Choose "Rock"]]
[[Choose "Scissors"]] You move your fist out in front of you. Your fist moves up and down in time with the robot's.
Your hands stop at the same time. The robot's hand hovers, fingers out, hand flat, denoting the shape of "paper".
Yours, to your delight, has two fingers out in the traditional shape of "scissors".
"T-t-thank you for playing!" The robot chimes happily. "You are now free. Good-bye!"
With that, the sounds of a huge machine fills the air. A hatch behind the robot opens in the floor and it's chair dumps backwards into it. The robot falling into what appears to be an industrial thresher, tearing the machine assunder.
You run out of the facility with more questions than answers wondering if you'll ever truly understand what just happened.
THE END
