When the cart arrives, they fall silent, peering at you with a fascinated suspicion. \n\n"Well," huffs Gershom, dropping to the ground. "You'll let me do the speaking, naturally. One of the doors glides open. "If you please, Gershom."\n\n"Rav, I'm only too happy to leave him in your care."\nHe stands and gathers his cloak, producing a small roll of parchment.\n\nBriskly, he unfurls it. The Rav signs it, it goes back into the cloak, and Gershom seems pleased. He turns to you.\n\n"My boy, we shall meet again soon."\n\nHe turns and leaves.\n\nThe Rav clears his throat.\n"Now then. They come back in high spirits.\n"So, my lovelies, I trust all has been worked out? Old, moldy wood presents a sad but stalwart obstacle.\n\nA steel beam lays through three metal loops, nailed to the gate, and is secured with a padlock at one end. \n\nYou try the gates, but this lock is formidable.
