<p>You are a reporter for <a target="_blank" href="http://www.abc57.com/story/28681598/rfra-first-business-to-publicly-deny-same-sex-service#.VRveGWReCEw.twitter" title="See the difference">ABC 57 News</a>. <p>Well, it looks like Governor Pence just [[recently]] signed a new bill called the <a target="_blank" href="https://iga.in.gov/legislative/2015/bills/senate/101#document-92bab197" title="I don't understand it either">SENATE ENROLLED ACT No. 101</a>. What a bunch of boring sounding legal crap. You would have to get in touch with your legal source to make any sense of it. And your viewers would just tune it out anyway. Might as well replay videos of cops shooting people. But first let's check [[twitter]].</p>

<p>If you can consider about a month ago recent. I wanted to do a thing about #BoycottIndiana much earlier. That version was filled with a "cool" and "edgy" style. It had gratuitous swearing, badly drawn comics, and clever puns like: "Hobby Lobbyist" and "The Pence is mightier than the sword." Chock full of faux anger and discontent I tried so hard to add another voice to the Echo Chamber. I was overly preachy and condescending. It was [[terrible]].</p>

<h2>Holy Crap!</h2> <p>There is this hashtag called <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23BoycottIndiana&src=tyah" title="Warning: corny jokes and memes">#BoycottIndiana</a> and it is trending like mad. Apparently, people think it could be used by companies to deny business to LGBT people and maybe even other social minorities. If only you could get a company to admit their bigotry on camera, then you would have the scoop you were looking for. To the [[yellow pages]].</p>

<p>Kind of like #BoycottIndiana itself. Now don't get me wrong, people had the best of intentions and I guess they were even sort of successful; but the whole thing was still a hateful, embarrassing and ultimately ugly display of cultural spite and swagger. Instead of directing the anger at the source of the problem (politicians and lobbyist), much venom was spewed on good, loving, and open people and frankly we deserved better. (Yes, I am a Hoosier.) Hopefully this new version of RiFRAf will keep in mind that the issue affects the lives of real people and hopefully the new version of RFRA does the same. [[Back|see here]].
