Welcome to Journey to Adulthood, a game by CCSW. This is a game of choice. It is not linear. Play by making choices as if you were your character, or pick something different and have some fun.
All origins begin late in the characters' times in high school, though the outcomes are a bit more varied. Though one playthrough may feel short, there are many endings and ways to achieve those endings. We encourage you to explore the different stories and experience the world from different perspectives.
Thank you for supporting our project, and enjoy.

You've always been a musician at heart. Listening to classical music starting at a young age led you to take up playing a healthy range of musical instruments, from trumpet to guitar and everything between. Though more than anything else, you're a pianist. You've been taking lessons for over eight years, claiming many awards and prizes at recitals and performances along the road. Unfortunately, you've heard from many others that a career in music is risky, but that decision is ultimately up to you.

A tinkerer for years, you've always been interested in figuring out how things work. It escalated from little gadgets like clocks all the way up to cars and computers, but your prominent interest has become robots. The creativity and open-endedness of the topic has encapsulated you, and they can contribute to just about anything. Where to apply these skills is all your choice.

Its college acceptance season. For you, this means finally deciding whether to follow your parent's instruction or not. They are pushing you toward the Ivy League, but you’ve always loved the idea of attending Clemson. The pressure they put on you for all these years has gotten under your skin, and you want to rebel in any way you can. What will you do?
[[Go the the Ivy League school. It's a good education, so why not? -> Sam Ivy League 1]]
[[Go to Clemson. It's time to start doing what you want. -> Sam Clemson 1]]
[[Run away to the beach. It's all too much trouble, and college can wait. -> Beach Ending 1]]
(set: $robot_done to 2)
The robot you’ve been building for the past year is almost finished. You believe you could patent and sell it if you have enough time. You’ve got a few offers from colleges with great programs that could help you in the long run, but patenting and selling could be an easy way into the industry.
[[Finish the robot and patent it. It's a risk, but it could pay off greatly! -> Jamie Home 1]]
[[Go to College. Maybe you'll go back and finish the robot some day. -> Jamie Clemson 1]]
Welcome to college. Your classes are tough, but you’ve been doing really well. Your grades are high, your parents are happy, and summer is coming up. You decided to apply for some summer internships. It could lead to a job opportunity, but at the least it will help you decide if you’re on the right path!
[[Continue. -> Sam's Internship 1]]
Welcome to Clemson! As a new college student, it’s important to get involved and do things that interest you. There are so many options, but you’ve narrowed it down to a few options that sound good to you.
[[Join a business club. It could get you somewhere, and hopefully it could force some interest in the subject. -> Sam Business Club 1]]
[[Take part in a music contest. It lets you show your skills, and maybe you can gain something out of it while you're at it. -> Sam Music Contest 1]]
[[After just a week or two, you realize that college life just isn't for you. You decide to head out to the beach and recollect yourself. -> Beach Ending 1]]
Working on your pride and joy has really made you happy, and you've learned quite a bit in the process. However, you have missed out on some opportunities, and as a result, you're in a bit of a tight spot. You could either go out and try and get a job straight away or regroup in your room and go from there.
[[Grab a job while you can. You should develop some independence. -> Jamie Job 1]]
[[Recollect. You've still got a robot and you can do something with it. -> Jamie Home 2]]
Well that came to a close pretty abruptly. It's quite arguable you never really did hit adulthood, as you didn't take a whole lot of responsibility into your hands, and when you tried to take your independence into your own hands, you obviously didn't get you very far. Too bad.
Would you like another go?
[[Yes please! -> Game Start]]

You decide to head out to the beach and collect yourself. Conveniently, you come across a like-minded soul by the name of (if: $player is 1)[Sam] (if: $player is 2)[Jamie]. You decide to rent a boat and go out fishing; it sounds like a peaceful time
After a few peaceful hours out on the water, the little boat begins to rock, and upon looking into the water near you, you see a rather large fish. As in a shark. Glossing over all of the gruesome details, you both got eaten. Sorry, that's game over.
And just in case your imagination isn't enough, this isn't all that far off from what actually happened.

You probably entered adulthood somewhere at the start of this road to fame, maybe even sooner. Calling it when you realized you were a bit of a piano prodigy is a little early, as that didn't quite determine the rest of your life just yet. However, one of those contests or competitions might have done something. You're a bit more than satisfied, nonetheless.
Would you like another run?

Shocker! Your dad is laundering money from his biggest clients in Cuba. Yikes. You know that it’s wrong but he is your dad and he has taught you everything you know about business.
When you confront him about it, he blows up at you and starts explaining everything. You are left with the decision to turn him in or keep quiet about it and stay loyal to your family.

[[What? He's your father. If you open your mouth, you'll both get screwed over. ->Cuban Jail Ending 1]]
Don't sweat it, you did the right thing. Your dad might be in jail in Cuba but hey, you took over the business and things are going swimmingly. Priorities, man. You first. You really are cut out for the business world.

Family comes first. You tried to make the most of it, but sometimes, things just don't go smoothly. Eventually you and your father got caught in your scheme and were arrested by the Cuban Government. It’s pretty rough and you wake up everyday hoping that you will be discovered and transferred back to America to finish out your sentence in a jail that is not as terrifying.
Good luck.
